I have since taken my boat out a couple of times and I can confidently say, they did a great job! Thank you SBR!!!

Obviously, if he's running his business that way, I wouldn't assume he would do anything else correctly and the one star ratings on here are probably more accurate than the five star. I run a couple businesses and I would never treat anybody like this so I'm not sure how this guy can even repair a dinghy.

We have now taken two different freshwater bass boats to this place for repairs and every time we…read moreare told 'the problem is fixed' and it isn't. We get charged, of course, and then we have to haul it all the way back over the Grade because 'this time' they are going to 'really fix it' . . . for another bill of several hundred dollars. This has now cost us thousands of dollars. Today was the last straw. First, he could not find our paperwork on his desk and he could not find our information in his 'program'. After standing around for 15 minutes while he fumbled through his pile of disorder, an employee in the back located us on the computer. As we forked over ANOTHER $355, I asked what our recourse was if the boat was still not fixed. He said we'd have to bring it back so he could take it on the lake to check it out. Not "it's finally fixed", mind you, because he finally admitted he doesn't even know what is wrong with it! At this point, I think this 'Doc' needs to be sued for 'malpractice'. He is a charlatan and a conjurer. We didn't know this because there was no Yelp review before ours but now that we know of his reviews on Yahoo, we are *not* surprised. ( http://local.yahoo.com/info-21213392-the-boat-doc-paso-robles ) I emphatically can _NOT_ recommend this place. Learn from our very costly mistake and stay far away from this Mock Doc.

The only thing I wish this lake/campground had were actual bathrooms and some shade. I've read that it was manmade but you would think they would consider building actual restrooms and/or shade even fake trees for shade. Otherwise, the lake was a gorgeous spot and the area was clean. I would definitely come back with other families but be more prepared with shade or head when the weather is slightly cooler lol. Highly recommend when you're in the area!

Yes I camp other places I love the area and it gets very hot wish we had more tree coverage so with that said bring a pop up or two. You never know what kind of wild life you will see and walk hike with caution rattle snakes blend in super good. I made the mistake of brushing my teeth with the water spicket one year so don't do that unless you want to get sick my stupidity. If you like fishing make sure you have a fishing license we went down to the lime one year with a kids like two year old fishing pole and a child hook and some lame person said we had a fish net and called the rangers on us and they all came looking for a net looked in my backpack in my truck in our ice chest in the back of my truck acting like we had done something wrong it was a huge embarrassing moment for them because they came In hot like I was a criminal with my wife and to young kids and the only thing was a trash bag that I collected trash people left around apparently they had a video of this so called net and the ranger told me after looking a this video that they must have mistaken a net for a trash bag. It's was super lame like I understand they have a job todo but the way it was handled in the beginning was not professional with kids around. Other then that I've always have had a great time in the heat we even went when the lake was dried up on the Harris creek side and camping one year and it rained we still had a great time. Yes it's not super party like as year in the past and that's ok you want that behavior drive up the road to the next lake. I wish they still had the little store but that closed up sadly. They need more people camping to get that open again.

We called on our way up the central coast about a boating issue in our motor area of a new boat we have. Alex answered the phone, understood the issue and our circumstances (being out in the middle of nowhere and needing help) and asked us to stop on in. He would check it out for us. Keep in mind the business hours close at 5 and he explained he was busy getting people's rigs ready and doing deliveries - but he would still manage to help if he could. I call back at 4:50 - tell him we are still 30 minutes out and he said he'll be there. - right at 5:20 we pull up at his shop and he sees us (course we're the ones with the boat in tow) - and gives us a quick inspection and honest resolution- although it wasn't anything major, it could potentially be if we don't maintain our investment. He does know his stuff - gave us a quick lesson in understanding areas to maintain and took care of the issue. We got back on the road, grateful for such a great person and honest business owner.
