Had over $500 of warranty performed in November 2024 for our mercury 50 hp. We had to pay them upfront for the warranty work then we would get paid back. They receive their money from Mercury. It's been 13 months and I'm still trying to get our money back. Horrible business practice. read more

Bantrum's has literally saved my boat from overheating and my engine from blowing up three times this summer alone. Lake Naciamento has been an absolute nightmare this summer for boaters, because of all of the debris in the water, which gets sucked into the cooling systems of boats and causes overheating. Each time this has happened to us, They have been more than accommodating in taking the boat in and getting it flushed out and fixed in a very timely manner, despite having dozens and dozens of boats. I also used them to wrap my boat at the end of last summer and they did a superb job. This is the best marine service center I have ever used. read more

I'm giving this place a one star. we brought our boat in to get checked as it suddenly heated up while we were trying to launch at San Antonio Lake. Eric took a look at it and we were told it was impeller and carb and that they would be able to fix same day, so we agreed. we picked up boat and took it down to lake same day, 1st time around started heating up again, I immediately called to let them know, I was advised to take boat back....after leaving my boat there for a week I was finally contacted by Eric and told my boat had so many other problems it was gonna cost $4000-$5000 to fix. So we ended up paying over $700, using the boat about 5 min and boat still not working. Ruined our family trip!! read more

This shop was recommended to me by a local friend in Paso. It was not highly recommended but is was close to my vacation home so I gave it a try. I'm giving it a 2 stars because it took over 2 months to fix the boat but it eventually got done). I attribute it mostly to their lack of knowledge on Honda motors and their lack of customer service. I don't believe it was a very high priority for them to get my boat done. Parts would take over a week to order and they order the wrong part two times. No hurry in re-ordering and getting it shipped faster (I guess FedEx was not an option). Also a very poor lack of communication in letting me know what was going on. They never called back when they say they would and always the same story. I would have to call to get updates. If I didn't start calling every couple of days my boat would most likely still be in the shop. If you think you will get a great price for parts and labor think again. The prices are pretty much the same as other places.. Mark-up on the parts are double and labor was $135/hr. I'm sure this is pretty standard and they are doing what other boat repair places charge but don't be fooled that you are going to get a great price and save a ton a money. Family run business and they are nice people. read more

Batrums has done several repairs for us. We purchased a new motor from them and had them install it. When it flooded, because they mounted it too low, they "forgot" that they sold it to us and mounted it. They also "repaired" the pontoons on our pontoon boat. After just one outing, the pontoons were filled with water because their repairs did not seal the pontoons. Repair cost - by Batrums - over $1,000 - to fix things we already paid them to do. I've passed this place a number of times without knowing they were a marine repair shop. Batrum's was recommended to us for a coolant hose issue on our boat we we were vacationing at Lake San Antonio. The hose we needed was a special order item which wouldn't be available for a few days. Erik made a recommendation for a temporary fix and totally saved our trip. He was extremely helpful both on the phone and when I showed up in person. read more

Eric and his family took care of my family boat. We were on vacation this last weekend when our boat sprung a small leak. He was able to diagnose and make the repair same day for us!! They saved our vacation and we were able to enjoy our vacation and the leak is fixed. I am so so grateful for Eric, his crew and his family! I recommend Batrum's! They also helped our camping neighbor with their boat and our neighbors liked them so much they are having Eric look at it and are coming back in a few weeks to pick it up. read more

Had an issue today while on Lake Naciemento- Batrums came recommended - he said we would do his best to get us back on the water although they were clearly very busy - they called in 3 1/2 hours with the words we wanted to hear -"your boat is ready". The price was so reasonable I gave him some extra cash to "buy pizza and beer for the guys" -- couldn't be happier!!! read more
