We had a morning rental for 2 hours, which I think was more than enough to make a few loops around the bay. The staff member was very courteous and thorough with taking us through how to operate the boat, restrictions on where to go, and making sure we had everything (even provided blankets since it was an overcast day). The boat is easy to handle, and it's pretty easy to follow where you're allowed to go. We saw plenty of wildlife - sea lions, birds, and best of all otters, including a mom and her pup swimming exactly at the boat dock. There is street parking right in front, and a hotel bathroom in the same building. They also provide binoculars for close up viewing. A good way to explore more of Morro Bay!

We were lucky enough to see otters (including an entire raft of them!), sea lions, and seals, along with all the beautiful boats and scenery around Morro Bay. Our tour guide shared so much interesting history about the Morro Bay area, which made the experience even more enjoyable. From the rental process, making sure we had the boat that fit our needs, to the check in/check out, all the interactions were friendly, professional, and super helpful. The check-in process was quick and smooth, and they made sure we were fully comfortable with the boat before heading out. They were also very responsive when we had questions! The boat itself was in excellent condition--clean, well-maintained, and easy to operate. Definitely an added bonus that they had wakeboards and life vests for different sizes. The tube was a huge hit! What really stood out was the customer service. Mikey was amazing at the dock and even gave us tips on the best spots to wakeboard, tube, anchor and swim. We saw multiple groups of whales lunge feeding, with whales, sea lions, and tons of birds all feeding together. We also saw lots of dolphins and had a chance to cruise alongside them for a while. Our guide, Mark, was fantastic. He clearly knew the whales and their behavior, always kept us informed about what was happening and where to look, and was happy to answer all of our questions. The highlight came when Mark spotted a whale away from where we were watching and decided to head over to check it out--even though we were already seeing some incredible activity. We're so glad he did. Shortly after we got there, the whale breached right in front of our boat! An unforgettable moment that we never would have experienced without Mark's knowledge and instincts. Our original trip had actually been canceled the day before because of bad weather. While that was obviously disappointing, it was completely outside their control, and we really appreciated how they handled it. They added an extra third trip the following day so they could accommodate us. We also brought our three-and-a-half-year-old along, and he had a great time. He was comfortable throughout the trip and really enjoyed the experience. It may not be for every three-and-a-half-year-old, but it definitely worked great for ours! It was the best whale-watching experience our family could have asked for. It truly couldn't have been any better!

Being able to bring our own drinks and food and play our own music on their Bluetooth speaker is really nice. Be aware that driving against the current results in the boat going about 2 MPH; compared to driving with the current or slack tide, you can travel 5+ MPH so allow enough time for returning to the dock.

True to it's name, if you have the cash you have a seat. To begin your voyage you and your group gather outside Captain Stew's office on the wharf. For all intents and purposes his office is really just a door with a grease penned phone number on it. Apparently you call the number and some person tells you to wait for the boat to show up. We just waited outside his door and walked right on board when he landed at the dock. No reservation needed. The tour is about 45 minutes, blankets and binoculars are there for your use. The captain does a good job with facts about the bay while trying his best not to hit the many kayaks that are tootling around. You'll probably see at least fifty sea otters as they're everywhere in the Bay. There's one other stop the boat makes on this trip and that's to pick up more/drop off passengers on the other end of the wharf. - Kids get a free stuffed fish - Yes, that's a Budweiser sign above the Captain's office door.. - There are several negative reviews for this tour, mostly along the lines of cancelled reservations. Look, would you trust a pirate with a reservation? Probably not, so just show up and if he's sailing that day have fun...If not, there are other outfits you can check out.. -Recommended
