I hired Ali and her team for my dessert bar for my wedding. She has so many delicious desserts and flavors to choose from and all of her desserts were delicious. We had ten different desserts ranging from mini cupcakes, to cupcakes, to mini pies, and cookies and they were all incredible. I was excited after reading all these 5 star reviews but was rather disappointed. It is in an odd location and the interior was very small. I ended up getting one of each cupcake since I do plan on ordering more for events. It's a hit or a miss, some had very good frosting but cake was too dry, some had awesome cake but frosting was too sweet. There wasn't much information on a big menu or on a piece of paper/flyer so I asked if they also did cakes. The lady told me they did. That was that, no other information given and I wasn't in the mood to play a 21 question game. I guess they're popular enough with their client list. After reading great reviews I drove 25 minutes to get something gluten free and when got there...only option was a dry grey looking chocolate cupcake. I was SO disappointed. I've been to a wedding and a birthday party that both had cakes and cupcakes from the sugar lab. The cake was not good and the frosting tasted like straight powder sugar, no real flavor, just sugar. I thought at first that maybe it was just me and I got a bad piece or something, but when my 5 and 8 year old said it was bad I knew something was up. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. To the delivery of the cake, which was everything I had hoped it would be, Allie was there and amazing. I saw that Stephanie could not find this shop but it was easy as pie for me and my friends to find. They have their name on the door in big white letters and a sign on the curb to help people. If you go down Johnson Dr and turn right on Crescent (where the 76 gas station is) and continue to go straight you would literally run right into the building. They have a new phone number which makes it easier too. If this doesn't help you to go try all of their delicious treats then I don't know what will. And, not that many people took cake home. My husband and I were not happy with this cake for our special day and would not recommend the cake shop!!! The key lime tartlet made up for the deficient cupcakes. So yummy. Tart and sweet in the correct proportions. The crust was so flavorful. Maybe it could be a tad thinner? We knew we found our baker when the husband declared them to be "the best cupcakes ever." The chocolate with vanilla frosting and salted caramel. *The chocolate cake was a little dry not too horrible but just tasted like a box mix. *The "vanilla" frosting was the worst frosting I've Ever had. It didn't taste like vanilla... It was like eating a spoonful of wet sugar. Just nasty! *The salted caramel cake was heavy and dry. And was more like a brown sugar taste than a yummy caramel. *The salted caramel frosting didn't really have a flavor. But was like a greasy spoonful of butter texture. With a little sugar of course. Delicious salted caramel macaroons! And the lady in the front was so nice and patient. The one thing that was slightly disappointing was their small pastry options. Yummm yumm yummm this isn't your fly by night cupcakery.... There are always lots of flavors to choose from the cupcakes stay moist for more than just one day like most. They aren't super super sweet...I haven't found a flavor I dont like. Right now she has pumpkin spice cookies which are just cookies the are super soft like pillows of heaven... You need to try. The pumpkin chai cupcakes have a little spice to them and stay moist for at least 3 days. The customer service is awesome. Send them an email or note on Facebook and they respond right away. The location is hard to find at first but the prices are Awesome and the quality is worth your time. Special orders she will totally work out with you.
