Friendly staff who provided samples of choices we wanted to try out. I wanted a scoop in a cup of the Malted Vanilla Peanut Brittle (not GF but they have MANY that are). For a single scooping a cup it was $5.50, but that scoop is pretty sizable. We've been to ice cream shops where $5 gets you a weak scoop and a hungry tummy. This amount was perfect for what we were looking for. Inside there's plenty of places to sit and it's very colorful. We chose to sit outside on one of the picnics tables because it was such a nice day.

The ice cream tastes clean, delicious, and smooth--not overly sugary or artificially flavored. The service was great, and the friendly staff offered us plenty of samples to try. The peach flavor was especially unforgettable and had a great taste. The shop is nicely decorated, creating a fun and cozy atmosphere to sit down and enjoy a sweet moment with friends.

Had a nice time here! I got a single scoop of the London Fog which is a cool vanilla with earl grey tea in it too. It was really unique but good! I also got the Oregon strawberry jam which was really solid too. Try a waffle cone! The staff was friendly and nice and the shop has a nice artistic vibe with good background music. I thought the ice cream was a little pricey but it was good so you should definitely try it too.

We needed a sweet treat after dinner in downtown Corvallis area and decided to stop into sugar js ice cream workshop! I loved the atmosphere, trendy and colorful! Decent amount of seating but I can see how it would fill up fast there. They offer alcoholic and non alcoholic drink options as well as a variety of ice cream flavors. Overall the ice cream was pretty good! I definitely want to try a few more flavors. They offer free sprinkles!!!! Salt and straw could never The employees were patient and helpful as my larger party sampled different flavors. For two scoops and a boozy milkshake we spent $19, not too bad. There is street parking as well as an adjacent lot to park in.

After 2 hours of driving, we desperately wanted an ice cream break and Sugar J's was nearby. So glad we found a fabulous ice cream shop. Mr. Picky enjoyed his chocolate shake and I snuck a sip when he turned his back. The ice cream I choose was delicious. We will definitely return and this next time I'll order that chocolate shake. Staff was very courteous and helpful.

Amazing ice cream that was creamy, flavorful and so delicious to enjoy on a warm evening in October. We ordered all vegan flavors of dark chocolate, matcha Oreo and another flavor too. Atmosphere was fun and very hip; great music playlist! Service was friendly and very hospitable! Highly recommend this fabulous shop to anyone who loves to eat great, handcrafted ice cream! We aim to return again if we're in the area.

The waffle cone two scoops cost $7.00 and the scoops were super small. I usually eat ice cream at Salt and Straw in Portland. A waffle cone two scoops cost $8.00 there, but it is so much larger! I also didn't like that you couldn't see the ice cream in advance. All of their freezers have steel covers. It looks like there is lots of easy parking, but the spaces are all reserved, so parking is tough to find even on a weekday afternoon. The atmosphere was nice, bright, quiet and clean. The ice cream is way overpriced for the tiny scoops.

Delicious ice cream! The single is two scoops which I love. Fun flavors but had to get my all time fav, chocolate. Their Ecuador Chocolate is rich and so good. Friendly, energetic staff. Good atmosphere.

Hey, not a bad ice cream shop at all! It's incredibly difficult not to compare it to Salt & Straw in Portland, as it's a similar setup. The flavors are absolutely on point, the service is prompt, and the location is ideal. However, the prices are a little more than what's reasonable, in my opinion. I'm definitely looking forward to being back, just not as fast. read more

My boyfriend and I were in Albany. Searched for Ice cream in Corvallis. Came up with your place. We walked in and you were very friendly and welcoming. A little problem happened but you fixed it didn't bat an eye and refunded us. Even after all that we had these amazing spoons that changed colors. These were great that we wanted to buy a couple to take home and give to our neighbors little ones to enjoy them. Nope you wouldn't let me buy them and instead gave me several. The little ones were over the top with them. You have definitely made a customer of us for life. Thank you so much. Oh almost forgot the ice cream and waffle cones were awesome. read more

Came in and asked for a extra small scoop (3.50$) and they charged for me for a single scoop (4.00$). And the dude said "you got two sugar cones so we are charging you for the waffle cone (1.50$)". Ended up paying 4.00$ after getting the 1.50$ from him . So in the end I still paid more than what I was supposed to .. 3.50$ . Disappointed The transaction went through and I went out and realized what happened. I went back in and talked to another guy who looks like the manager. Tells him I got charged for a single scoop and the dude that charged me looks over and says "oh yup you did". And then I told the manager that he charged me for a waffle cone and the dude who charged me leans over and says I gave him sugar cones .... Why wouldn't you just give me the waffle cone if you charged me for it? And how are you charging everyone else correctly but me? The manager proceeds to look for my transaction that I placed less than 3 minutes ago and asks if I have the last 4 digits of my card. I give him the number and he says I can't find the transaction can I give you 1.50 for the waffle cone? And I took it and left. Felt like the dude blatantly Mischarged me .. I hope it didn't have to do with anything other than the fact that he was just trying to over charge ME .. won't get into race read more

Cute, comfortable, clean ice cream shop right near the splash pad on the river walk, so a perfect post-splash spot for kiddos. We were happy to find Sugar J's on the first day of our visit to Corvallis, and happily returned for more frozen goodness on subsequent days. Flavors are bright and texture is creamy. We tried the cookie dough (lots of dough chunks), vanilla (rich, decadent true vanilla flavor), coffee (perfection!), lemon bar (tart lemony taste with real chunks of lemon bar), and peppermint pattie (minty and chocolatey delight). Staff were super friendly each time we were in and even remembered us from our first visit. Portion sizes and pricing are fair. This is a great little spot for a refreshing treat on a summer day. read more

Was visiting in Corvallis and saw this new ice cream spot that did not disappoint. Super good rich creamy ice cream! The flavors are yummy. Got a split scoop of strawberry and cookie dough. The portions are huge for a split scoop. They have actual bowls if you are eating there. On a whim we decided to eat ice cream in 40 degree weather. Staff was friendly, attentive, energetic and helpful. Innovative and creative menu. Ice cream was delicious. I especially enjoyed the dark chocolate. It was the first dark chocolate ice cream that tasted like dark chocolate, not sweet and slightly bitter, wonderful. Recommend. They have multiple dairy free options AND gluten free. Prices are definitely on the high end but the service is always great and I've never had better flavors or selection anywhere in my life so it's worth every penny to me.
