Too busy to get a good photo but mini cupcakes on the left & mousse cups on the right (comes with tiny spoons)

So happy I stumbled upon Sugar Defined on IG. Thankful Chiyon was able to craft the delicious desserts for my baby's birthday. With so many options to choose from, I went with mini vanilla cupcakes; half with dulce de leche cream cheese frosting and other half Oreo frosting. They were delicious, not overly sweet, & the perfect bite. Our guests enjoyed them! I'm not a fan of ordering cupcakes (I prefer whole cakes) bc they are a hit or miss IMO, but these did not disappoint. We also ordered Belgian chocolate mousse cups which were decadent and the perfect sweet treat. I contacted her about a week out and she was already super booked (and sadly unable to fulfill my order for passionfruit mousse) so contact her wayy ahead of the suggested time. Ordering was simple - send your request (menu with pricing and forms are all online) she lets you know if she's able to fulfill & confirms the order then sends an invoice & lets you know when/where/time to pick up. Her style is minimalistic, with great quality and flavors - which I'm ALL about versus desserts that are gaudy with lack of taste. They are packaged with care. I would definitely order again for future events. Or maybe just because... been eyeing the lavender creme brûlée on her menu. ;)

Such great cupcakes! We were also running late and the owner was very understanding and was so nice! We definitely recommend and will be ordering more!

Purchased a beautiful unicorn cake for my little girls 7 yro birthday party . The cake was absolutely gorgeous and delicious. A little pricey at 75 dollars but for that made from scratch taste and the sheer beauty of it , it was worth every penny !

How it was delivered: on time, safe and sound!

Delicious goodies, beautiful presentation, easy to order, delivered as promised and on time. Thank you Sugar Defined. My family in Manassas is so thrilled at this holiday spread. This may just be a new tradition! Five stars!

This home bakery is my favorite in the DMV! I am so glad I discovered Sugar Defined - it has made these last few months bearable! The owner, Chiyon is extremely kind and often throws in little surprises in my order! She bakes with high-quality ingredients and bakes to order! I am obsessed with the lavender sugar cookies, mango strawberry cookies, as well as the soft and gooey brownie cookies! So divine, yet not too rich like other cookie places. My sister was thrilled to have her birthday cake from here: a beautiful 3 layer lavender lemon cake! It was fresh for several days after, we ate every slice. Also enjoyed my recent order of colorful fruity pebbles bars! I love supporting this small business, one dessert at a time!

I was looking for someone to cater a baby shower I was throwing for my best friend and after a quick google search I found Sugar Defined to be the prettiest. I have to admit I was more interested in looking for some photo friendly desserts for the shower but luckily not only were they beautiful but tasty as well - the guests were all commenting about the delicious cheesecake frosting cupcakes but most importantly my best friend and guest of honor loved it and she's a chef so that meant a lot! Ordering was easy. The owner was very accommodating and even helped match the desserts with the color theme of the baby shower - she made pretty swirls of purple lavender on top of vanilla mini cupcakes. And pricing was more than fair for boutique quality desserts. Thank you Sugar Defined!! I highly recommend!

I've been wanting to support small businesses during Clovid-19 so I looked up bakeries near me and it is the best decision I made! From the yummy cupcakes to matcha bread, everything we ordered was amazing! My husband really enjoyed the flans I ordered for him and I'm so excited to try other sweets made by them :) awesome customer service and sweets! I highly recommend them!

Delicious and savory brownie cookies! I also ordered the Nutella banana bread and it was rich and moist! I took it to work and it was a huge success! Delivery was on time and secured packaging! Would definitely order again!

I initially thought this was a storefront business but it is actually a home based business. Chihi & Chiyon are sisters. To say they deliver excellent customer service is an understatement. I called the day before at 6pm & they happily took my order which was ready at 8:30am the following morning. I custom ordered vanilla cupcakes filled with nutella & topped with a nutella centered sugar cookie. Cupcakes were moist & delicious. No attention to detail was overlooked from the cupcakes to the simple yet elegant business logo. I highly recommend Sugar Defined & look forward to using them again.

The cupcakes were delicious and they stayed so fresh for four days (we savored them ) pickup was easy. Thank you we will order again for sure.

There's plenty of seating, but it does get busy, especially during peak hours. There's an attached parking lot, which makes stopping by super convenient. Wife and I sat at the Chef's Counter for a truly wonderful meal last night. The menu is exceptional, five courses, several with two options, and the progression was just perfect. We really loved all of the dishes, but for sure the ravioli with wild asparagus and ramps is one I will remember for a long time. The octopus was also a memorable dish, and the poussin was complex, layer after layer of flavor and the salt level was so good...just perfect food, perfectly executed. Oh, and shout out to the owner's dad, who is in his 90s and makes the bread, a rich sourdough, served warm, that has a 50 year old starter at its essence. Yum. We did the wine pairings and I def recommend. Some really good wines, curated from small vineyards globally, matched perfectly and well presented. The sommelier nailed it. We also just loved the service. Nice touches pre arrival, they are expecting you when you arrive and there's a lovely personal touch and welcoming feel. The ambience is warm, and you can hear and talk and it does feel like you're at a dinner party with friends and family. Finally, shout out to the chefs and servers. Knowledgable, conversational, and charming. We really enjoyed the Chef's Counter and the entire experience. Kudos to Chef Jon Krinn and his family for creating this masterpiece of a restaurant. And honestly, they pulled out all the stops for their recent New Years Eve dining experience - I'm talking caviar, white truffle, A5 wagyu, a custom cocktail (because they know I like gin and yuzu) and a painfully decadent dessert - What a way to send out 2025! I mean, honestly, the meal was exquisite and so perfectly executed. Each dish is crafted with a passion and care for food that absolutely shines. I mean the Foie Gras (sp??) - I don't even really like the stuff, put the way they sauteed it, put it on top of some sort of savory cake and slathered it with this balsamic gastrique - it was like bacon and pancakes smothered in maple syrup just amplified to 100. Bottom line: I would eat this every day (and amplify my weight by 100 too). The snow crab, I don't know if it's the care in selecting the product or the techniques used to prepare it (probably both ), but they packed so much crab flavor into that dish! And the dark chocolate cheesecake, it was magic that can make something so dark, so bold, so rich feel so light when you are eating it. This was just one specific meal here, but I am surprised and delighted every time we get the privilege to dine at Elyse. It's not just the food, it's the atmosphere and the attention of the staff. The pistachio flavor was evident on top, but it was just a kinda tart vanilla ice cream with toppings. I did like it, however, and it paired well with the lokmas. The lokmas were fried to perfection, a nice amount of chewy, and covered with a good ratio of pistachio cream. They were a decent size and conducive to sharing. The prices of everything, overall, was pretty expensive, but the quality definitely made up for it. The bingsu is definitely shareable, both of the bingsuus we got were rich in flavor and came with generous toppings. The sparkling coffee, however, wasn't quite as sparkly as I expected The injeolmi latte was a little disappointing because it doesn't come with espresso, which I didn't realize when ordering. I ended up paying an additional $2.20 for espresso. That said, I would recommend adding it because it really helped round out the drink. The server was quick to bring it out after I asked about the lack of coffee. My biggest hesitation is the price. The iced latte came out to around $12 after tax and tip, so I'll probably only come back occasionally. Still, the unique flavor combinations and overall quality might be enough to bring me back for another treat.
