Our two kids (now 12 and 9) have been training at this gym for the past three years, and we couldn't be happier with the experience. The coaches do an incredible job creating a positive, supportive environment while still teaching discipline, hard work, and respect. Over the years, we've seen our kids gain confidence, improve their fitness, and develop resilience both inside and outside the gym. The coaches genuinely care about the kids and take the time to help each athlete grow at their own pace. The gym has become more than just a place to train--it's a community. We appreciate the positive role models, the emphasis on character, and the way the staff makes every child feel welcome. We highly recommend this gym to any family looking for a fun, challenging, and encouraging environment for their kids. read more

I was looking for a new gym and came to the Encinitas Boxing Club, aka Sugar Boxing. At first, I was unsure if I could even do this, I tried one class and after the 15 min cardio warm-up, I thought I would never make it through the next 45 min. Well, it was so fun, I was hooked. I immediately joined and although, I had no idea of what to do, the coaches are awesome. Dana, Amber, Trent are super!! They instruct, guide and help you learn -proper techniques and avoid injury. They were so helpful to me being a "newbie" and also so understanding as I have some physical limitations. There is always an alternative to an exercise. My balance has improved so much in just under 3 months. I highly recommend this club. It is for folks of all ages. I've never had so much fun exercising . Join and have fun. Diane F. read more

This is a real boxing gym open to all comers. Family oriented, great experienced coaches that really teach you how to box. I had no experience and they made me feel comfortable and its been a great experience. Dana, Anthony, Josh, Mike, Trent all have their own boxing and coaching styles and they are all great. This is not a trendy glam gym. Its a great down to Earth, family run gym that welcomes everyone, whether you are looking to be a competitive boxer or are just looking for an engaging, fun, and challenging workout. Highly recommend. read more

My son had an amazing experience here. He developed great work ethic and skills. Both Mike and Dana are top notch and genuine in their approach to create the best experience. Whenever I would walk in the door they always engaged with smiles and were proactive in everything that happens under the roof. I miss this place and mantra. You won't go wrong and will have no regrets , go check it out! read more

My disabled son goes there every morning dana And the other trainers are awesome to my son very professional Great place!

Nothing but amazing things to say about Encinitas Boxing and Fitness! They made me feel so welcome and comfortable in my initial classes and took the time to show me the ropes. Always positive and uplifting while pushing you to be your best at the same time. They offer so many different types of classes too! I've taken classes with almost all of the trainers and, so far, all have been so so great! The building could use some improvements and maybe update some of the equipment in the gym, but doesn't bother me enough not to give them 5 stars. As a woman, I really appreciate that the vibe they give off attracts people that are actually there to work-out versus using the gym as a place to hit on people; which is why I have stayed away from gyms for years now. Feels like a family there. Love you guys, keep it up! read more

Love the place and especially the trainers and miss them very much since I moved. There are students of all levels and with very diverse goals - from those just wanting a workout to those who want to compete. Somehow they make it work for everyone. You get a great, great workout, learn and improve, stay safe, and most importantly have fun. If you only want to improve technique, you can do that. If you just want to have an hour-long workout that doesn't bore you to tears, you can do that. I'm not sure how he does it, but Mike gets to know everyone quickly, meets you at your level, and helps you get what you want - even if the person working right next to you has totally different goals and abilities. read more

I love Encinitas Boxing. Such a great environment, really great trainers. It's a great workout that really pushes you (In the best way. If you're new or out of shape, don't be scared, you can take it at your own pace and nobody judges anyone.) A real family environment, great facility, the BEST people. read more

Absolutely loved the combo of classes (boxing boot camp and foam rolling class) I took here last Thursday. Dana was an empowering boxing instructor and made me want to continue classes despite me being so new to this kind of training. The foam rolling class (instructors name I want to say is Dave?) was great for learning technique of how to take care of your body pre or post workout. Women of all ages can rejoice at having Encinitas Boxing & Fitness as an inviting place to train and feel challenged while also feeling at home. Yoga and Pilates also offered here! Wish I lived closer to this gym I'd come here all the time. read more

Encinitas Boxing is an amazing place to workout on so many levels. They have a basketball court that is a great way to warm up for any workout. The locker rooms are plenty suitable and the location is ideal. What really makes this place unique and highly enjoyable is the trainers and the attention you receive in class. If you are looking to jumpstart your health plan or just looking to get into something that's not the same old weights and cardio routine, give these guys a shot. I'm glad I did. read more

I have been attending Encinitas Fitness and boxing for a little over three months now, and I absolutely love it! As a former high school wrestler, the boxing classes are the most intense workout I have endured in nearly 15 years. Mike is a fantastic instructor! He is always encouraging, funny, and knowledgeable. He definitely knows his boxing, but he also knows how to encourage and inspire his clients. The class size is optimal. Usually anywhere between 6-12 students, so you're guaranteed a lot of personal attention. The clients cover a wide range of abilities, so you can move at your own pace without feeling lost or overwhelmed. The gym features locker rooms, racquetball courts, cardio equipment, and a complete weight room - free weights and machines. The build is also home to a massage facility, martial arts club, and a yoga and pilates studio. read more

If you're interested in getting into great shape with a purpose, then Encinitas Boxing is the place to be. Became curious when I saw classes on Groupon. Instantly became hooked, and I'm now a very very happy member. I hate cardio (mostly running) and this is hands down the best way to get your cardio in. Mike, Dana, and Trent are the best coaches around. They're unbelievably friendly, compassionate, and knowledgeable . read more

I have 2 sisters & 1 brother that also have a membership here. I write on behalf of my siblings when I say that Encinitas Boxing and Fitness is fantastic! The quality of the trainers is superb. Mike, the head boxing trainer is a master expert instructor, and his instruction, style, and motivation are second to none! Trainers Ryan (kickboxing), Alex (kickboxing), and Cody(boxing) are also experts in their respective fields and loads of fun. All the trainers at Encinitas Boxing and Fitness have years of experience that they bring to each class. They make the classes challenging yet fun! You can be assured that every class will make you sweat, learn, and love boxing and kickboxing! Each class incorporates cardio and strength building exercises, speed / mitt work, and heavy bag work. If you're looking to stay in shape, then there's not better way to do it than to do the classes here. Every friend I've brought here has fallen in love with boxing. The incredible instructors and trainers, the positive atmosphere and motivational environment, the multitude of equipment and punching bags, and the boxing ring all make Encinitas Boxing and Fitness to be one of the best boxing gyms in San Diego county. read more

Best gym I've ever been a part of! Dan is a sweetheart and makes everyone feel welcome. They have every possible piece of equipment you could need and enough space to get a full workout done. Encinitas Boxing will change your life! The classes, instructors and staff are all amazing and make you want to keep coming back for more. I especially love the Muay Thai classes with Marshall. This used to be Team Quest Encinitas. Team Quest was great. They changed owners, locations and Management. Since the change of ownership, move and management they have harassed me endlessly, trying to get me into their new gym - I do not want to go to their new gym. I somehow realized they were STILL billing me. I did not sign a contract with new gym, so they chose to do it for me, even though I NEVER agreed to be affiliated with Encinitas Fitness. Their response when I informed them I wanted nothing to do with the new gym (I spoke to numerous people at their company, numerous times and they repeatedly agreed to stop calling, billing, harassing me and continued to do so) was to send my account to a collection agency. DO NOT have any thing to do with this company. You will regret it. read more

I wanted to check this place out because of all of the reviews here, but my experience was not positive at all. I sent a message via their website and it took them 4 days to reply. I replied saying I was going to try out a class 6 days later and I showed up 10 minutes early to the class, was not greeted friendly at the door (he wasn't mean, but he didn't say good morning or hello or anything, just asked me what I was there for) and then ended up being turned away because he told me that I had to show up 20-30 minutes before a class. He told me there was another class one hour later but I'm new to the area and already had plans so I left. I have a Groupon so I have no choice but to return, but I really did not have a good first impression. Hopefully that changes once I can get to a class. read more
