The big windows and plants throughout the space give it a cool, chic atmosphere, and there are plenty of people studying or working on their laptops. It's also really close to the University of Texas at Arlington, so expect it to be pretty busy on a weekend morning! My friend reserved one of their rooms for a journaling event, and the space was surprisingly big. It comfortably fit our group of about 10 people, making it a great option for group activities or creative meetups. I tried the matcha this time, but I wasn't a huge fan. It tasted like there was too much milk for my liking, so I'll probably give their coffee a try on my next visit.

Anyways, the girl in the front was so kind and courteous to this woman, despite her being so rude. Hats off to her, I wish I got her name, but I did compliment her on how she handled it. As fast as the coffee, it was okay. The prices were a little steep for me to be able to visit frequently, but I liked the vibe and the decor of the place.

I like how their furniture is diverse, from small tables, to a large table, to a central couched seating area, to a counter against the window. The UTA students nearby are lucky to have this place close to campus. If I'm ever in the area and need to be productive again, this place will definitely be on my mind to return to!!

The shop is quaint and warmly decorated. There's a cluster of chairs & a couch around a coffee table or a large table for bigger groups. Aside from that, there's a bar and a few small tables for independent seating. Along with some beans, we ordered two matcha lattes that were high quality. As I studied, there was a consistent trickle of customers coming and going - a sign of a lively business. Since the space is small, it was a little noisy but I enjoyed the ambience. The next time I'm in need of a study spot or a good latte when visiting my family, I'll be sure to stop by again.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! After the Friday 6/1 fiasco with them... I will NOT GO back! I was told they'd make my sugar-free cupcakes first thing that morning since the sugar free frosting was softer than reg frosting & I was taking them out of town (2hrs away). Since I had a meeting before I left town, I asked my girlfriend to pick them up for me, worried the meeting might run later than expected. Her first attempt to pick them up was around 1pm (figuring she'd freeze them at home), instead she was told they hadn't even finished making them yet. So finally at 4pm, she was able to pick them up... but by no means were they frozen & I was to travel with them 2hrs later. When I picked them up, I was greeted by --- 6 sugar-free cupcakes that weren't the right color, not pleasing to the eye. All of them were oddly shaped & it looked like the batter exploded out the sides. What was even more disheartening was how the cupcakes were no more than 2.5in (h) x 2in (w) in size! REALLY!?! and I paid $25 for this?!? --- what I hate most of all was that I didn't take a picture of this horrible mess for all to see --- When I called the bakery, I received a somber -"Well what do you want me to do about it?" To which I could only reply - "Apparently nothing, thank you!" ---Professional... I think NOT!--- ***Needless to say what was meant to be a special treat for my mother's 70th birthday never arrived since they melted only 40mins into the trip and I didn't have the stomach to give her something so unappealing!! read more

The guy who helped me when he DID finally acknowledge me being there was rude and acted as if I was getting on his nerves...Um HELLO WELCOME TO FRONTLINE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! If I am going into your establishment I would like to feel welcome seeing as how I am the one purchasing product. Maybe I am old fashioned but even if I am having a bad day IM GONNA PUT ON A HAPPY FACE!! anyways so I wanted to recieve some cupcakes for my sons birthday party. well I was told that I would have to special order cupcakes in advance ( I totally get that) BUT if i get them I cann't receive a mixture that it is mandatory that the dozen has to be all the same flavor....example I wanted 4 dozen cupcakes assorted. Its hard to find one flavor to suite a ton of 5 year olds!! So i would be limited to just one flavor...maybe I misunderstood....maybe he meant that I would have to only do 4 different flavors that is completely understandable...but while i am trying to ask these things and you completely look annoyed with me like I am bothering you! whatever. Edit: Yes it did have to be cancelled as all events are prohibited and the venue refunded all of our money. So there is no option to have another wedding. Sadly I had to cancel my wedding due to COVID 19. The county is not even allowing gatherings so we had no choice. Also we are unable to postpone the wedding as well as our venue does not have any availabilities. Our cake was paid in full (over 1,500) and I even have an email stating supplies had not been purchased. However, Hedi would not even consider giving us any sort of refund. She offered giving us something for a future event but considering we do not live in DFW this is not an option. All other vendors gave us a partial refund because it seems as though they understand the situation is uncontrollable. Very poor considering nothing was even purchased or made. read more

I would not recommend Sugar Bee Sweets. My daughter's wedding was canceled by a government action due to COVID 19 more than a week prior to the event. I spoke with Heidi, the owner, extensively and kindly asked her to do the right thing. She refused to refund ANY amount of our $1,500 payment even though no expense has been incurred by her business. We are unable to reschedule which was the only action she offered. My daughter's wedding planner will no longer recommend Sugar Bee to clients. In times of crisis, true character shines. Shame on you. All of the other vendors provided refunds which shows their character. We will pursue other recourse. read more

So disappointed in this business. My cousin's wedding had to be cancelled to to the various Emergency Declarations due to COVID-19. Sugar Bees was contacted and the owner even admitted that she had not ordered the supplies for the cake; however, this business would not refund ANY of the $1500+ for the cake. ALL of the other vendors refunded all or part of their money. Sugar Bees told them that they didn't have to cancel...they should postpone! To when???...she has no idea all of the trauma these two young people have faced during the past few months! And now this...a national/world disaster. And yes...they did HAVE to cancel! read more

I had to cancel my wedding on March 28th due to COVID-19. Sugar Bee Sweets kept money that my father, who passed away of terminal cancer a month before my wedding, gave to me as a gift to spend on wedding expenses. manager was an atrocious human-being to my father-in-law, refusing to give even a small percentage back to us. they have claimed that it is not negligent to provide a cake for a 200 person wedding when a global pandemic is killing thousands. One of my best friends had to cancel her wedding that is in two weeks due to COVID-19. When reaching out to all of their wedding vendors, all of them offered at least a partial refund, excluding this company. My friends didn't want to cancel their special day, but they were given no choice in the matter. It's so sad to me that this company is taking advantage of my friends during a global pandemic. PERFECT. I can explain them as perfectionists in design. Was my first time ordering from here all the way from CA for my girlfriend's bridal shower. The naked cake came out just perfectly and exactly how we wanted for this Pinterest-inspired bohemian chic rustic themed bridal shower. They meticulously and beautifully did the cake exactly the way we envisioned and put on the fresh flowers I brought in. Everyone at the party was wowed by the cake design. Lol apparently we are living in a world wear a pandemic doesn't exist if you walk into Sugar Bee Sweets OR The Hive. There are no visible signs at entrances asking you to wear a mask. I walked in and saw a staff member have her mask on her chin, she wiped her nose and proceeded to grab food to bag an order. This is the point we're I left. Before my sister placed an order, she called the bakery to explain the exact color she wanted. She was instructed to place my order online, select "gray," and then call back with the specific shade so it could be noted on the order. She followed their instructions exactly and specifically requested charcoal gray. She even told them the cake is on the website and told them where it was on the website. She wanted it designed exactly how it was on the website as well. When she arrived today, 7/14/26, to pick up the cake, she was completely shocked. Instead of charcoal gray, the cake was green. Not a darker gray. Not "slightly off." Green. I've attached photos of what we ordered versus what we received because the difference speaks for itself. She had spent over $100 on this cake, and it was for a special occasion. At that point, she didn't have time to wait for it to be re-frosted as the cashier mentioned it would take awhile, so she was forced to take a cake that looked nothing like what we ordered. What made this experience even worse was the way management handled it. The cashier could clearly see how upset my sister was and at least showed compassion. The manager, however, showed no empathy, no accountability, and no concern for the inconvenience his bakery caused. After she left, my sister called me (Candice) completely frustrated - so I called to speak with the manager. Instead of taking responsibility, he claimed there was "no way to verify" that my sister had called to specify the color--even though she was simply following the instructions his bakery gave her. He didn't try to resolve the issue by saying "I'll talk to my staff to see what happened". He COMPLETELY dismissed all accountability of HIS bakery negligence to notate our order of the specific color. Then he went a step further and told me that he personally offered to re-frost the cake himself and that my sister refused. I called and asked my sister if this was true and she said NO. So he blatantly lied to my face. She said the manager spoke only a couple of words to her while she was in the store and never once offered to personally fix the cake. Hearing that he fabricated that conversation was more upsetting than the cake itself. To add insult to injury, the only resolution offered was $20-$25 back on a cake that cost over $100 and was not what I ordered. Even the design/decoration was completely wrong. Businesses make mistakes. We can forgive mistakes. What I cannot overlook is dishonesty, lack of accountability, and poor customer service. If the manager had simply apologized, owned the mistake, and made a genuine effort to make it right, this review probably wouldn't exist. Instead, we were left with the wrong cake, an inadequate refund offer, and a manager who chose to deny responsibility and misrepresent what happened. After 15 years of supporting this bakery, this experience has permanently changed our opinion of the business. The cake color was disappointing. The customer service was unacceptable. I will not be returning, and unfortunately, I cannot recommend That's The Cake to others. Still waiting on that disrespectful so called refund of $25 as well.

This is absolutely THE place to go for kolaches. You know, the sausage roll kind actually known as a klobasnek. These are the absolute best you'll ever find and they are half the price of anywhere else. Each roll has two sausages wrapped in cheese and hint of a sweetness somewhere in the process. They are delicious, perfect, and cheap. Where other places will make you cry at getting half a dozen, you'll get a dozen here and think maybe you should have gotten 18. But don't, save some for me.

Hubs stayed in the car while I picked up our pickup order and was greeted immediately by the young girl running the counter who was very nice and great at multi tasking as she was packing my order and holding a conversation with me. I had asked if they had samples as my hubs wasn't sure if the lemon cake would be good or not. Which, if you're a lemon flavored dessert lover, you know lemon flavored stuff can be hit or miss. Either too little flavor or way too much. The young lady let me know that they don't do samples, which I was perfectly fine with and understood and right as I was saying so, in walked the male manager or owner who asked if I had ordered one. Told him I did not and explained about the hubs wanting to try but understood that they didn't do that. This incredibly nice man, gave me a lemon cake mini for my hubs to try (which it was quite delicious as I took a small bite) and the hubs enjoyed it thoroughly. It's great customer service like this from both the young woman and the older gentleman that keeps customers coming back, even when this customer lives in Arlington so this is NOT my closest location lol, but will definitely be THE location I choose to go too. I triple checked their closing time on google, and it said 11:00. We went to a different location first. My husband and I pull up at 10:12 to see all the lights out and a young man walking to his car. To say I'm aggravated is an understatement, because it was no where near closing time, and's on top of that, I won't be able to get this particular cookie for a while. I could blame myself if I got there right at closing, but 10:12???! To make things worse, we drive to this location, and THEY had just closed. Please please adjust your operating hours on Google, if 10:00 is closing.
