I've only used them as a bakery a couple of times over the past 20+ years. They make good stuff. But at great personal risk, I'm going to share a not so secret secret. This is absolutely THE place to go for kolaches. You know, the sausage roll kind actually known as a klobasnek. These are the absolute best you'll ever find and they are half the price of anywhere else. Each roll has two sausages wrapped in cheese and hint of a sweetness somewhere in the process. They are delicious, perfect, and cheap. Where other places will make you cry at getting half a dozen, you'll get a dozen here and think maybe you should have gotten 18. Not like it used to be at all. I ordered my usual six cupcakes... White with cream cheese frosting. The cupcakes are hard on the tops and the cream cheese frosting is way too sweet. On 9/14/24, Paris Bakery provided the most amazing baby shower custom cake. I worked with Joanna, who was just so patient and helpful through the process of making sure the cake was perfect. Joanna even allowed me to send an invitation to her personal cell phone , so that she could personally ensure the transaction was received. The baked goods are mostly excellent but recently it appears that this bakery only caters to AHS students, rather than the general public. For the life of me, I can't figure out when they are open and closed but I went there on Monday last week at 2 pm and they were closed on Mondays. Today I got there at 4 pm and they were closed with sign saying they close at 3 pm. I would go there more often but they are never open and everywhere they are listed (Yelp, Bing, etc) shows their hours as M - Sa 7:30 am - 5 pm. If they can't be bothered to update their hours so customers know when they are open then I won't be going back. It's a lot of carelessness and it's sad for their customers, then maybe they get all the customers they want from the high school, I just don't know. Extremely poor customer service. I called on Thursday to check ahead of time to see if we needed to schedule or order a wedding taste box/options in advance. The person I spoke with said no reservations or order needed in advance. We can stop by before 3 pm on Saturday to purchase small cakes to test out and we can look at options for wedding cakes. We drove 45 minutes to the bakery. The employee we spoke to said there was only one flavor left for the day to try. I mentioned my phone call, then asked could I place an order ahead of time for next Saturday to pick up? She suggested we come by on Tuesday. I told her we both work during the week and we cannot drive 45 minutes and make it to the bakery before it closes at 3 pm. Can we come by next Saturday? I asked her multiple times if it's okay to pre-order before we drive out here again next time. Again, she told me to come by on Tuesday and see what they had left for the day. She wouldn't accept our order and her response is it depends on what they have for the day. We can't afford to drive out here over and over again to see what's left for the day to purchase. I don't understand why we cannot order ahead of time for individual slices of cakes to try ahead of time. I can't even communicate to the staff to even start an order. read more

We booked Paris Bakery for our wedding this year. We started with cake tasting which included several flavors in a whole box that we got to try. The same day we sat down with them and discussed which flavors, how we wanted our cake to look, and how big we'd need it to be. We ordered a 3 tier wedding cake and paid in full. The one thing I love about Paris Bakery is that my family has ordered from for almost 30 years. Taste has always been consistently delicious and never dry or too sweet. Their wedding cakes are in a good price range compared to other bakeries in the area. Another perk was that we were able to choose different flavors for each tier. My husband was very happy about that. (Italian Cream, Pandan Coconut, Mocha, Strawberry) A few weeks later we needed to upgrade to a 4 tier cake and they helped us do that. Of course we tried to do everything ahead of time and I was glad we were able to and they were very accommodating. We mentioned we were working with DFW Dream Weddings and they would decorate our cake. They have worked with Tommy and their team for several years and even knew exactly what time they'd want the cake to be delivered at our venue. Our family from out of state/town loved the cake. Never come here to order your wedding cupcakes. The owner lost my order, didn't know what I was talking about even though I emailed her several times. We needed to pick them up on Sunday and she said that was ok. COME TO FIND OUT they were closed. It was a HUGE inconvenience for us in the midst of planning a wedding DURING COVID. Paris Bakery has been providing me with my birthday cakes since I was a young child so it was a no brainer to have them make my wedding cake. I gave them a picture of what I wanted and they executed the design perfectly. They also did it for a price that was much more affordable than some of the other bakeries around the area! Delivery was also a breeze with no issues. The only reason for a 4 star instead of a 5 star is that I wish the cake had more strawberry filling. I've never had this issue with my normal birthday cake so I can only imagine that either strawberries were not in season (my wedding was 11/7/15) or too much filling would have affected the stability of the cake (I had a very large tiered cake). I'm so disappointed with this place. I read the reviews and couldn't wait to visit this bakery, I'm almost sorry I did. I chose the wrong time to visit, there were mountains and mountains of children from the HS, I was seconds away from leaving as I pulled into the lot. As I walked up to the store, I had to push my way through the kids and it was the same inside. Due to the traffic inside the store, I wasn't able to really look around and enjoy my first time experience. We purchased two of the coconut cupcakes, one mocha, and one black forest single cakes. The cupcakes were okay, nothing to write home about. The single cakes were sub-par. One tasted as if, it was a leftover (even the almonds on top, were stale), the other (black forest) was okay, but not worthy of an honest mention. I will look for other shops to visit, this one was a sure let down. One more thing, make sure you visit before noon or after 1:30pm. This location is right across the street from Arlington HS, and the kids seem to think it's okay to visit this establishment, for lunch. Womp! read more

I had been going to Paris Bakery in recent years when I found out that they have a pandan coconut cake that they have and had to try it out so I got it for Christmas one year and man was it amazing. So when it came to our wedding, I knew I had to have that pandan coconut for our wedding because I wasn't going to go with a typical super sweet vanilla cake elsewhere. So I went to the bakery to see what the process was and it was super straightforward. You can get a box with their different flavors and fillings for about $25 (don't remember the exact pricing on this) and then just let them know what cake you want once you choose. So they have a booklet of styles you can choose from and price it by amount of layers chosen and delivery fee to your venue. The total for my 3 tier cake (2 layer pandan, 1 layer strawberry shortcake) ended up coming to around $300 (again, not too sure on pricing because I forgot but it was definitely less than $400). A week before my event, I called them to confirm that what time we had agreed upon them delivering the cake and they enthusiastically told me the time and that they knew the location. Come the day of my wedding, they were literally in and out. My cake was close to the entrance of my wedding venue so they were able to locate it and place it without much guidance at all and were in and out in a jiffy. If you're looking for a cake that's not too sweet (Asian style) I would highly recommend working with Paris Bakery (even if the place is a bit sketchy and old school!) read more

So the verdict is in....and it's just okay. I bought a variety of things and they were tried by a variety of people. First off, the prices are good. I walked away with quite a bit off stuff for not a lot of money. Now on to the treats. First up was the red velvet cookie. It was okay. I probably wouldn't get it again. The white chocolate gave the cookie the sweetness it needed. The actual cookie was lacking something but I can't put my finger on it. Next was the butter nut cookies. They are chubby little circles dusted in powder sugar. I thought it was bland and tasted a bit too much like flour. The chocolate cookies with walnuts were very good and tasty. Thumbs up there. The chocolate cupcake and Black Forest cupcake were also just okay. Reminiscent of something you might make out of the box. Also got some of these little triangles with a fruit center. The price was pretty good as well getting out with two cake slices and four cookies for just over $7. The taste was average. I didn't find anything to write home about and I found the cake frosting on the overly sweet side. Speaking of the cake the strawberry cake was on the dry side and didn't really have a flavor. The chocolate cherry however was drenched in alcohol and would make Mary Berry happy for a boozy bite. In the end the flavors just didn't add up and stand out. I stopped because I was driving by and wanted a treat. If I lived in the area I might go again if nothing else was available but it's definitely not worth going out of my way for. read more

Along with the obvious cakes and cupcakes they have a wide variety of cookies, danishes, baklava and the BEST kolanches. If you have never had one of their cakes- they always have slices for sale so just grab a taste. The fruit cake is my favorite with the Grooms cake a close second (chocolate cake with raspberry filling, toasted almonds around the edges and chocolate covered strawberries adorning the top). The layers of icing were double the size of the actual cake layers. It was really just a mound of decorated icing which tasted gross with no cake.. In recent time, I have discovered that my beloved hometown of Arlington has a lot more "boutique bakeries" than I remember from my childhood. Now, the ones that I have recently found--which have actually been around for a ridiculous amount of time--are not the typical "Los Angeles Cupcake modern-trendy institution, but rather nitty gritty store fronts, often found in strip malls. They got nuts here at Paris Bakery. For starters, their $0.50 chocolate chip walnut cookie boasts whole walnut halves (is that an oxymoron?). Those who are familiar with nutritional benefits found in nuts know that walnuts possess lots of assorted minerals and healthy components. In the same vein, the baklava, though pricey at $1.50, was found to have a whole pecan halve (me with that idiotic saying). Additionally, it was chock full of chopped (I'm a wizard with words--read that phrase a few times fast) pecans, that happened to be sticky, sweet, flaky, and buttery. Paris Bakery is far from Middle Eastern grub, but whatever... they did a fine job at cranking out this baked good that even Americans desire. Whatever they are doing, Paris Bakery seems to know how to run a shop centralized around products featuring various combinations of flour, eggs, butter, sugar, and the like. TEN STARS I cannot express how wonderful this bakery is!!! I have been going here faithfully every year .... several times a year since before my oldest was born. That was over 15 years ago. I even had my wedding cake from Paris Bakery and it was beautiful!! And they have never failed me!! I ordered my daughters birthday cake last week for her party Sunday afternoon. I have been too busy, I forgot to pick it up yesterday. By the time I remembered (and they did call to remind me) it was 7 pm and they have closed already for Saturday and is closed all day Sunday. You can imagine my devastation. I emailed them in hopes the owners looked at my email!! And thankfully they did.... bless them!! There is no better bakery! The delights that come from this bakery are heaven inspired! I have ordered and received some scrumptious items. My personal favorites: Carrot Cake, Italian Cream and Black Forest. Absolute masterpieces! 5 stars for taste, presentation and price. This is a gem tucked away in a strip mall but what a delight and surprise. The cookies are soft and not dried out and nothing I have sampled over time has ever disappointed. I needed a batch of cookies and petit fours for a quickie put together and Paris Bakery was there and met the challenge and made me look good!
