It was okay. First time here. It was at the end of a time of ice storms. Business was slow everywhere, if even open. I popped into Pastry Paradise as I saw it when I was going to 1890 Marketplace. The gentleman working there was quite gracious and kind. The place was clean and organized. I ordered a piece of German Chocolate cake and a piece of Italian Cream cake. The baker had just pulled some Chocolate Chip cookies from the oven, so I added one of those too. The German Chocolate cake was very moist. To my taste, it wasn't very flavorful. The Italian Cream cake wasn't as moist and the frosting was a bit sweet for my taste. I have not yet eaten the Chocolate Chip cooking but it looks great. While I wish I liked the cakes more, I may try other things here. read more

It's been some time since I last visited this bakery and I happen to spot it while driving around during our icy weather and swung by. Everything is still so wonderful and the man who helped me was so sweet (I'm assuming the Mister to the fantastic pastry chef Ms. Efua). Just as it was done by Ms. Efua at my first visit years ago, the baked goods were carefully placed into their boxes and a ribbon was tied onto them. My first review from years ago said the price was more than I expected, but honestly? I think the prices are actually very fair. If we can go get crumbl cookies or cookie society cookies without batting an eye, we can definitely get cookies and other pastries at a small business. I wholeheartedly love Pastry Paradise and I'm so happy they're still thriving. It's such a lovely mom and pop shop that wraps you in so much warmth with some radio music in the background. The display of cakes and other baked goods will make you want to buy everything. It all looks so amazing. You won't regret it. read more

Stopped by here on a whim after ordering a pizza next door. It's located in a little strip center with parking in the front. Was greeted by a lovely gentleman who took great care of us. You could tell he has a passion for what he does and takes pride in it. We chose the carrot cake and the lemon raspberry cheese cake. Both were delicious but that cheesecake was off the charts good. It's a small business where you walk in and order. Really no place to sit and we were there later in the afternoon so selections were limited to cakes. OMG! Best tiramisu cake we've ever had!!! My boyfriend's mom loves tiramisu, so we knew we had to get her a cake for her 80th birthday. Luckily, I was able to find this bakery on yelp. We came here to try a slice ahead of time, and we were hooked! Talk about yumminess! Eesh! We loved every bite. More please??? :P The owners were super sweet and accommodating. This place is a hidden gem!!!! We went in and ordered a piece of chocolate flan, coconut torte and black forest cake. We were not expecting the incredible flavors we held in our hands. You can tell that the owners, who are a sweet, wonderful couple from Ghana, put their heart and soul into their baking. We probably go there every two weeks and will continue to. I had a piece of 3 different cakes; triples chocolate, strawberry, and Italian cream cake. They were all good and clearly made from scratch and no corners cut! Paid $67 for a 7 " very small cake for my husband's birthday. I Ordered an Italian Cream cake which always has pecans & coconut in it. I got a vanilla cake with pecans on top covered in powdered sugar. Although the cake was tasty it wasn't what I ordered & was extremely overpriced since the layers were only about 1.5" tall. Not a good value at all for a vanilla cake with pecans on it. read more

My husband asked the baker if she could make a cassava cake. She went out of her way to find cassava flour. The cake is moist, the flavor is good. This is might first time tasting cassava cake. A nice cup of coffee and a slice of cake calls for a nice evening or morning snack. read more
