The first time I went in for a brazilian and it was a very wonderful experience despite how much it hurts! The person was really nice and explained the process to me, and the small talk was very comfortable, so I felt very comfortable in the space and not awkward. The second time I went in, I was just getting my armpits sugared, and it was a lot more uncomfortable socially. The person didn't explain things--she kind of just did things and announced what it was, and she also didn't explain the after sugaring care process like she did the first time, which felt weird because I didn't remember what I was and wasn't supposed to do, so I asked. The small talk was also really terse and I felt really judged????? Because she just ended with "...interesting." And I was like ???????????????????? Anyway, I definitely recommend going once! Completed the intake questionnaire online, so checking in with the receptionist was easy. Not only is the place very clean but it's beautiful and smells amazing. Looking at my reviews, I do not normally leave a malice note as I am a local supporter for all local businesses. I transferred to this service from Corona due to the traffic on HWY 91 and construction going on. I really loved the Corona service as the lady was fast and very committed to the service on time. I decided to give Sugar Bee a try. The service was somewhat slow, not as quick as the Corona one. How they do with sugaring is slow. I'm like whatever...respect how the services are. I am a punctual person and arrived on time. Every time I show up, I end up waiting for like ten minutes. Yet, I gave good tips even if the service started late because again I am a local supporter. Prior to the appointment, all clients are required to answer the questions, I answered all questions especially plastic surgery part. The question was just yes or no. I answered yes. Upon my arrival, I explained to Krystal about my one month surgery. She said no and requested doctor's clearance in which I did not know. She was willing to waive the penalty, 50% penalty. I was like, it was not my fault because I did answer the question. The problem is the question itself. I wasted my time going there and ended up rescheduling and assigned me for a new client/more than 5 weeks. I accepted this. I had an appointment with the service on Dec 1. I communicated that my debit card was null and void due to fraud activity. I was replaced with a new debit card. I did communicate on my part. The front desk didn't update, not my issue. I then scheduled for today for a 1:20 pm service, I showed up early. I communicated with the front desk that I needed to leave at 1:50 for the virtual meeting. The front desk notified me that the provider was out today and transferred me to the other provided but the other provider may be slower due to the recent surgery. I was not communicated via text at all to let me know. They have my text number. At 1:26 pm knowing that it was impossible for me to leave by 1:50 based on my past experience with them, the service was never on time, I simply asked to reschedule due to time constraints. I was threatened for a penalty, 50% charge for cancellation, I asked for reschedule, not cancellation. I told them I'd leave a review and deal with the owner myself. I explained my perspective to the owner via text. She actually tried to charge me 50% charge for cancellation and told me I am now restricted from booking. She even told me she was considerate to waive the penalty when I arrived with my one month surgery. It is like she gaslighted me. I merely answered the questions especially plastic surgery question. She then said I have not opted in for automated texts. To be honest with, I am not aware of this and they have my text number, they could have notified me of the change in provider and that the service may be slower, I would have asked for the opportunity to reschedule. She used a word, impairment due to my deafness so they cannot call me. Well, again they have my text number. I am like, wow... this is an insult in the deaf community when the hearing person has the nerve of telling the person who has an impairment. Impairment is a very pathological perspective and I do not accept this. I would have recommended anyone to this service but after today, I signed up for another service near my home. Tried calling yesterday to reschedule because of catching the flu, but they aren't open on Mondays. Called this morning and let them know I was very sick and wanted to just reschedule. The manager told me I'd have to pay the cancellation fee, to which I asked if there were any exceptions seeing as I was sick and am a really accommodating client; coming into appointments on time, waiting 30 minutes when appointments go over time, rescheduling if my waxer can't come in that day, etc. She said no, and said I would've had to send them a picture of a Covid test dated yesterday to get the cancellation fee waived or I could come in with a mask on and complete the service?? Honestly I just wanted some small amount of understanding, especially considering I pay $80 for services here every 5 weeks. I've been a faithful customer to sugar bee since I started, and although I was satisfied with the sugaring service I decided to not return do to their poor customer service. I had scheduled an appointment a month ago for a certain time slot and saved it on my calendar. Sugar Bee then changed my original scheduled time to an earlier appointment (15 mins earlier) and never called me about the change. They apparently sent an email which I never saw because I was traveling abroad. I was sent a text a day prior to confirm my appointment and I missed the time change on there (my bad) since I was not expecting it. I showed up to my appointment on time according to my original schedule, but late (15 mins) according to the new schedule and I was charged a later fee (50% of the cost of the service), which is a lot considering how expensive the service is in the first place. I asked for my late fee to be waived due to the fact that I had not noticed my appointment was changed and because I was willing to reschedule my service that same day and pay full price for it. I also brought up how on my last appointment I was seeing 45 min late due to a mistake on their end and all I was asking was for the same grace to be offered to me in this situation in which I showed up 15 min late to an appointment that was changed without me noticing. When they made a mistake, there were no repercussions, I understood that mistakes happen and I accepted the apology. They didn't offer me a discount that day and I also didn't ask for one or acted offended that I had just lost almost an entire hour of my work day. But when I made the mistake of missing a notification of a change on their end, they were not willing to wave my late fee. Caring more about this late fee charge vs. keeping a loyal customer. I told them I was most likely not coming back, and their response was " OK have a nice day". I left sad and disappointed. read more

Hello! I wanted to write a review on the unprofessional owner "Krystalin". I got notified 30 min before my appointment time of it can be moved . I'm sorry but if I book a certain time, it's because I got other stuff to do and MY time should be honored. When I tell them no, I get notified of an upcharge because now I'm gunna be scheduled with another leveled sugarist. That's not my problem and I should not be charged lol. The owner notifies me it's because the original sugarist is no longer available at the time I booked for. Again not my problem. Krystalins whole demeanor was just plain rude and she doesn't know how to talk to customers . Will not be returning. Look elsewhere. What is sugaring? It is basically like waxing but so much better. The way it works is you have a warm sugaring paste (which is organic and vegan) that removes your hairs without sticking to the skin. The paste is constantly rolled on the skin and stripped in the areas of unwanted hair. The process is fairly quick and a lot less painful than waxing. Now getting to Sugar Bee can be confusing but just look for the Sola Salon next to the shopping center where IHOP is located, near the Tyler Mall. Once you get there, you'll find yourself in a hallway with a couple studios but keep walking until you find #9. The studio was very clean and organized. I made an appointment and did not have to wait (I've had some bad experiences with waiting an extra 30 minutes at other spots). And don't worry, there's curtains for those who need the privacy! Service was on point; Krystalin is awesome and made sure I was comfortable especially since I've never had hair removed this way before. First, you'll get sanitized and powdered up. Next, the sugaring process begins. You just need to lay there and take it. It honestly just felt like I was getting gently massages with slight stings here and there but painless for the most part, even in my sensitive areas! After Krystalin was done, she asked if there were any spots she missed so she can get them for me, now that's what I call good customer service. Great experience at Sugar Bee, don't think I'd ever want to do waxing after trying this. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to get rid of hairs or get Brazilians! UPDATE: FACIAL SERVICES ARE NOW AVAILABLE! If you are looking to have skin that looks and feels amazing while getting pampered, try a facial! The facial begins with a steamer that opens up your pores. Then Krystalin does a series of treatments using cleansers, masques, toners, scrubs, serums, moisturizer and a hydrating facial mist. She determines what type of facial is best for your skin based on what you've got so everyone gets a personalized experience. I had a pumpkin enzyme peel done and it felt amazing! You can feel your skin tingling (in a good way). I also enjoyed the Vitamin C on my skin. In between the treatments, a hot towel is placed on your face. Don't worry, you will still be able to breathe because it doesn't go over your nose! Towards the end of the facial, your face gets massaged for a couple minutes. Your arms get some lovin' too! The entire process was so relaxing, you won't even realize that an hour has passed. When I got up to look at my face, it looked beautiful. It was glowing like I was pregnant. I booked an appointment as a new client for a Brazilian wax maintenance. I added on the comment box that I was currently pregnant and when my last sugar wax session. I am not new to sugar waxing have been doing it for 2 years with both of my pregnancy's . Recently moved out to the I.E. from Orange County. I drove 30 mins to this place to get told they couldn't see me. I never received a call or anything regarding me being pregnant they offered to do a bikini wax instead for 60$ . I turned it down because I didnt need a bikini wax, and yet They wanted to and tried to charge me 50% when they were the ones that turned me down, and absolutely no one called me or told me anything after booking about being pregnant at 37 weeks and them not being able to see me. So unprofessional If that was the case I would have not made the drive. So upsetting! And felt discriminated. Never coming here again. If you are in the OC area I recommend downtown Sugar. Krystalin is a wonderful sugarist. I've been going to her for a while now and she's beyond amazing. She's incredibly friendly and easy to talk to, which plays a HUGE part in making you feel more comfortable and keeping your mind off any pain. During every appointment I've ever had with her, she's been very professional.. so it confuses me that many people have left her reviews stating otherwise. I've been late to one of my appointments before & she was beyond understanding, which not many people usually are. Her website is easy to navigate & lists very explicitly what actions she's taking during this pandemic, such as: no one else being allowed to come to your appointment other than YOU. Every time I book an appointment using her website, I receive multiple texts and even emails to remind me of my appointment, what to expect, the changes she's made, and again.. the rules she has implemented. I've been coming here approximately every 8-10 weeks for about the past year. I had nothing but positive experiences until my last appointment with the owner Krystalin. She was arrogant to say the least. Talked the entire time about how she happily fired all her old staff because they weren't up to par and that's what her business partner or mentor advised her to do. Talked about a training program she was making and how she was going to be charging for it so people don't waste her time. Also bad talked other larger/local sugaring companies. Inappropriate conversation to have with a customer in my opinion, but whatever I just needed my sugaring. So I stayed quiet during my appointment and that was that. Fast forward to yesterday, I try to book on the website... there's NO staff available. I call and got an appointment with the owner, but was told they needed to confirm later because the internet was down. Also found out the price was now $95 (a $15 increase from my recent appointment) but whatever, I have vacation coming up and need my sugaring. Today I get an email saying I was "previously restricted from booking." Sooo my review is simply to say... use this place with caution because I do think it's possible to find better customer service and professionalism than what Krystalin is offering. Been coming here for a while, but I'm ready to move on to a different sugarist due to my last few visits. The owner is OK, she is informative and has great technique. However, she has a lot of problems with her clients and is constantly arguing with them on this page, so it's just not a good look lol. It makes me feel on edge at times during my visits. One of the times I was there, she was preaching on and on about how her late policy goes both ways. Then ironically at my next visit, she was 15 minutes late (the length of her grace period). I barely got an apology and she sped through my service. I had hair growing back on the second and third day when I've had my sugar last weeks before with her. I honestly wouldn't have cared if the quality of the sugaring was the same, but it wasn't lol. Other than that, I have to admit she's really good at what she does. My most recent visit I had my services done by one of her new employees (bc krystallin was not available), and it was the worst experience at sugaring i've ever had. I had my brazillian and underarms done. The employee was pulling at the sugar so much, and I have a high pain tolerance but that hurt too much. She couldn't get the sugar off of my skin so she constantly had to pull. There was sugar flying all over the room the entire time. And by the end of it, I had bruises under both my arms and on my brazillian area. I'm prone to ingrowns (however i stopped getting them since i started sugaring with Krystallin) but i've never had ingrowns like i did this past month. I was able to go to someone to help me with that, but it's really just been a terrible experience that i feel like i shouldn't have had to deal with in the first place. Not to mention, she left most of the hair on my underarms. I understand having to train new sugarists and having to give them a chance, but I would at least hope the owner makes sure that they're not leaving bruises and flicking sugar across the room the entire time. read more

Had an appointment made somehow i ended up at another place with the same name. I gave a call and spoke with the lady that was supposed to do my service. She was very nice and understanding and said she would give me a 15 minute grace period on my first visit. As it would take me 30 minutes to get there from the wrong location i was at. I saw earlier there was a later appointment. I called her and asked if i could reschedule to the later appointment since i would be late and it would be better for her. She agreed. Shortly after the "owner", i did not know who i was speaking with no name given..called me and said because i moved my appointment to another time she would charge me for BOTH services for BOTH appointments. I said because of misunderstanding and my first time there can there be some kind of leniency as it is my first time. She started to get mouthy with me, very rude. I tried to explain to her that the employee agreed to move me as it would be better for everyone and she still insisted to charge me on 2 services instead of the 1 i wanted! She said she informed her employee that she had done wrong in rescheduling me and informed her of policy. (So why is it my fault when you had to tell YOUR employee of policy??) I have never been treated like this. She started talking childish saying I need to get recommended somewhere else and i am not allowed to come there. Do not worry i would not give my money to you anyway. On top of all this the service here is double the price of any other wax place, i only wanted to come because i had a last minute event. So ladies and gents look for someone else, my goodness. So decided to not come at all, as i will not give my money to such an unprofessional place. And lady if you are reading this review do not message to this review, i do not care to read what kind of BS you will come up with on this one.
