With the track not being used often anymore, you can tell that some features are not updated, but overall it is a lot of fun.

For some people a nice way to kill a weekend (or weekday, depending on employment status) afternoon…read moreis to watch tv, take a nap, go shopping, etc. If you are streched and looking for an alternative, may I suggest the dog track. The drinks are frighteningly cheap, as is the food, and the minium bet is $2, so if your budget is small have no fear. I understand if you have never been to a dog track before it may seem scary or intimidating - and in realtity it is both. However, once you get your bearings it can be an afternoon of wonder and excitment watching dogs run as fast as they can in a circle, it is the simple pleasures that make life worth living. As far as people watching is concerned, once you've been here you'll let everyone else have their outdoor cafes on Newbury Street. So get a small group together, shoot a few nips before heading in to take the edge off, be there around 10:00 am, and put $10 on Crazy Legs Harry in the 6th for me.

Best outdoor rodeo in the area! Love the authentic, down home feel of this event…read more NOTE: EVERYTHING HERE IS CASH ONLY! Admission ($20), merchandise, food & beverages (no alcohol) - all cash only. No ATM anywhere nearby. Plan accordingly. Events are great and include lots of kid/youth stuff early, with the pro riders coming out later in the night. Seating is a mix of hard bench bleachers, picnic tables, and some retrofitted tractor trailers with standing room - you can also bring your own chairs. Food and non-alcoholic drinks available for purchase (food is tasty but not dirt cheap). Port-a-potties for bathrooms. The competitors vary each night, but it's not uncommon to see ZERO qualified 8 second rides for the bull riders - the riders rarely stay on, which can be kinda lame. Some of the barrel racers are pretty talented though. Haven't seen them do any other rodeo events (no saddle broncs, no breakaway roping, no steer wrestling, no calf roping). If you've never been, you've got to try it at least once.

I live No. of Boston and the drive wasn't bad at all - pretty much straight highway. The location is very close to 495, but you definitely need to use a GPS to find it. The sign comes up very quickly.. Anyway we landed just fine. The gates open at 5:00. We paid our admission ( very reasonable! ) CASH only and entered. There are bleaches to sit on and you can also bring your own chair if you feel more comfortable. They have a food area with BBQ and other items ( again CASH only) with picnic tables. There's a pay area that looked cute for children and I noticed a few stages set up around the area. We sat down and it wasn't long before they started the early shows featuring young riders. The kids were all decked out in cowboy/cowgirl duds. The ones who competed were enjoyable to watch. Later came the adult riders - barrel racing, bull riding, shooting etc. There were a few rodeo clowns. I'd never seen any of this other than on TV. So it was kind of fun to watch! At one point we looked around and the place was absolutely full! Foodwise, I'm a vegetarian. So other then fries, there wasn't much for me. I saw "rodeo plates" go by loaded with ribs and other cuts of meat.. most said they enjoyed what they had. I'd definitely return when they reopen in the Spring. already making plans!

Had a beautiful winter riding experience here--it truly felt like something out of a movie. I…read morebooked through Groupon and then made a reservation on their website. There were some additional costs I didn't expect, but I understood they likely go toward the guides and the care of the horses. I've ridden before and mainly wanted to enjoy the fresh air and scenery, which did not disappoint. The only thing I really wish had been different was the photo policy. I completely respect the no-cellphone rule for safety, but it was a bit disappointing not to be able to capture or share such an incredible experience. Maybe a good compromise would be for guides to take photos or short videos during the ride, or to have a brief stop along the trail for pictures. That would make the experience feel more complete and memorable. The ride itself felt a bit strict at times--we stayed in a single line and had to keep pace, which made it feel a little tense, almost like a "keep up" situation. I understand safety is the priority, though. One of my favorite moments was when the guide explained how to calm a horse and build a connection--that part was really special. Overall, it was a great experience and one of the best I've had in the North. If the pricing felt a bit more reasonable and there were more opportunities to capture memories, I would definitely come back.

My daughter is autistic and described her experience as feeling "safe, confident, comfortable, and sometimes exhilarated." I'm a lifelong rider and am very attuned to how things are going. Honestly, I don't understand what the more negative reviews on this site are talking about. This was amazing. Beautiful facility, the horses are well cared for, and I just signed kiddo up for summer riding camp here.

Some of the best sushi, fresh brick oven pizza, and soup that I've had over the years. Some of the restaurants have changed, but most of the key ones have stayed the same, and the quality is still amazing. I cannot really comment on the casino itself, as even as an adult, it's not my thing at all. But some of my relatives really love the casino here. I usually stay in the restaurants, shopping area, or show areas, and it's a lot of fun. The Olde General Store is my favorite shopping store. They have cute, very unique and quaint supplies and tools. This store also used to have some handmade dolls by the local Native Americans sometimes. Superr cutee stuff here!! My family used to take me here a ton on weekends from when I was 10 years old up until late high school. It was a far drive from NYC, but I was excited to go when I was younger for the kids arcade, the pretty decor, the shopping, and the top notch food. We were here every weekend at some point. I know many people…read morelove this place, and I was so excited to go here but I need to be very honest in the ways they can improve and why 3 stars and not 5 stars from us. The booking and check in process was smooth and easy. The front staff were very friendly on the phone and in person. They walked us around to show us the grounds. Our room was exactly as we expected so no surprise there. It was ready when we arrived, clean and stocked with the basics (towel, soap). We didn't have high expectations for a new/updated room as the photos are exactly how the room was. No fancy frills but clean and absolutely fine to stay in. The beds are not that comfortable but fine. The wall paper in farm house 6 was peeling a bit and wear and tear around the unit was present but we did expect the room to be outdated and didn't have any issues over all with the room. The main reason for our 3 star is really based on food, amenities, and grounds. As for food, do not have high expectations as it's very basic. I would rate it 2 at best, but it's all inclusive and does feed the mass groups. Our waitress the first night was awful, we didn't eat for almost an hour. She told us she was rusty and not ready for the groups yet. Little weird, but I guess she was being honest. The other night/day team were much better and more competent. One odd thing we did notice, food is not in abundance when it's put out for guests to grab. Once something runs out, it runs out. I'm all for not wasting food, that's very important but we noticed often food would run out (cookies, appetizers, and other items to grab-go). For example, the cocktail adults evening, majority of the finger appetizers ran out. Another night, they had watermelon for dessert and it ran out. Ultimately, we can't say we didn't eat, we did, some items just would run out and that was it in terms of offerings. Another concern was the indoor pool, it was freezing. Like unable to swim at all -cold- cold. I would think summer time the pools outside are much better, but we didn't try those as it was too early in the season (April). The toys on the main lawn near the sand pit and volleyball area are all broken and worn out. One of the swings broken and missing. The kiddie barn is broken where the kids play. The boats near the lake are all broken and dingy. I understand this place is more about family legacy and farm life, which yes is special, but most things I found are falling apart around the main lawn area especially. Just in general, broken or not cared for. I am not expecting anything to be brand new or perfect but they're run down. We did most of the kid events and the play doh was all dried out and the crafts very limited. We felt there could've been a few more kid friendly events going on (maybe a movie, more crafts, outdoor music/games, outdoor events). The activity staff seemed really uninterested when it came to many of the events too which was unfortunate. Rather than really engage the kids they often stood around. These are the main reasons for our 3 star review. The concept and legacy idea for families is awesome, but the upkeep just isn't there and not as much engagement as we hoped. I love being outdoors, and for my kids to enjoy their time outside and farm life but they need to clean up a bit here. A few things we did love, to be fair and honest, the farm animals, Pony Ride, Easter egg hunt, and magic show. They were fun and engaging. Also, my kids absolutely loved trying to get eggs from the Hens (despite the limited number, but that's not East Hill's fault, that's just kiddos who claim them all and run away before others get a chance to grab one from the Hens). I also had a massage, that's not East Hill, but their outside vendor they use in their main lobby. It wasn't very good. The lady was nice but the chair massage was not relaxing or enjoyable. She barely massaged me. I wouldn't recommend spending $20 on this add on. This spot has so much incredible potential if they just maintained it better. Such special memories for families to create here. I get leaving the rooms nostalgic and maybe the farm areas, but the grounds, toys, arts and crafts and a few other areas could use some upkeep. Unfortunately that's why this is only a 3 star from our family.
