I have used the pickup service for household laundry- blankets, sheets, curtains- and everything has come back nicely folded in plastic bags. I appreciate the periodic specials to offset the cost of saving my shoulders for these bulky items, and the pickup/delivery service is so very convenient. These were literally a few $25 dollar blankets from walmart, so the one wash was more expensive than buying new ones! when I complained I was told that they would give me some credit back but then they changed their minds - after spending over $500 dollars at this place, I really would have continued to be a loyal customer for years! He'd do it on Mondays so we switched to Tuesday and guess what he was there Tuesday afternoon too. We ended up having to take our wet laundry to another laundromat because there wasn't a single one open . He'd take them as soon as they were emptied. I'm not a petit larcenist with a cunning plan to enrich myself fifty cents at a time. I'm a middle-aged local homeowner who occasionally needs to wash a duvet. Can you seriously not tell the difference? Everyone in Hunter/Tannersville has lost quarters over the years in this joint's frequently-broken dryers. I've never bothered to report it because I'm usually here at the weekend or evening, but it adds up. Point being: they are definitely collecting more quarters for services not provided than they have ever been asked to refund. So why instruct/allow staff to instantly assume a hostile, argumentative, and condescending stance when a customer dares to report an issue? It's frankly kinda shocking. (Though maybe not--now that I think about, I've heard this employee being gratuitously rude on a prior occasion.) Perhaps the owners think that customer service and basic courtesy aren't necessary when you're the only option in the village, but there are laundromats down the mountain, staffed by professionals who don't automatically hate and suspect anyone they don't know personally. That's where I'll be taking my business from now on. And honestly it'll be worth the drive to avoid the godawful Corporate Country music station this place blasts at monster-truck-rally volume day and night (a lowkey act of aggression in itself). Overall, my clothes came out just fine in their relatively modern commercial machines. I spoke to a female staff member there with questions a couple of times and she was very helpful and polite. They also offer drop off laundry services. The parking lot is a bit small and spots are tight, but I still didn't have any problem finding parking in the middle of the day during the week. The crowd around there could be perceived as sketchy, but I didn't have a problem with anyone and kept to myself. I would go back if I needed to outsource my laundry needs again.

Now granted, that dry cleaners is eco-friendly and what they were charging was $40 a panel. $320 in the end? For curtains? No. While Scanlon's on Ulster Ave in Kingston, NY isn't organic, they came in at $15 a panel. Done deal. Scanlon's is what you would want from a cleaners: tidy, offers same day dry cleaning, ironing+laundry services and has a detail website highlighting other services such a leather and Ugg cleaning, wedding dress services, etc. Do ask about repair+mending services- if any. Hubs chose his shirts to be hung instead of boxed when he dropped off them off. Unlike other cleaners where you pay when you pick up your clothes, here, you have to pay(?) upfront when you drop off your clothes. Regardless, Chris and his team actually gave my linen curtains the care they deserve and hubs' shirts had a nice crisp to them. The turnaround time was great between dropping my curtains off and picking them up. Hassle-free, prompt and great pricing.
