Terrible experience. Every single time Sudie has made an appointment with me she has been extremely late, forgotten and is extremely unprofessional. She's just totally not even there. This was her third appointment with me for a touch up that she completely forgot about. I am disgusted with her unprofessionalism and disrespect for others time. Got my microblading done here. Ehh. I didn't get the shape that I showed the technician that I wanted. Been unhappy with the way it looks. Hopefully she can actually fix it for my touch up. My main complaint is it's 40 MINUTES pass my appointment time and I'm still sitting here waiting to get my touch up. If you double book me/ whatever that's fine call me and tell me to come at 1400 cuz Ive got kids at home/ things I have to get done. I absolutely hate having my time wasted. My experience here was bittersweet. The good, The ladies here took me from a 10/10 to a 200/10 with impeccable service. The bad, I found out for a year I've been paying way too much for very poor quality eyelash extensions. First of all, every woman who works here is GORGEOUS. They all have such a great energy and I love it. I came here on my lunch break, and even though it was crowded, I was serviced within 15 minutes or so. The woman who did my eyebrows was SO SWEET. Telling me I'm pretty and explaining to me the best way my eyebrows should be done from here on out. And it was the most painless threading I've ever received. At my previous place it would make my eyes tear but when she began the bottom part of my brows, here I didn't even feel it at all! And I felt absolutely nothing when she tweezed, I was literally in shock. Like is she even plucking?? Next, I got my lashes done. I'll compare the two experiences. At the previous place: The glue would burn my eyes, my eyelids could feel the heaviness of the lashes. When I closed them they'd get irritated because the glue would be so much and jagged edges would poke at my lids when I'd blink. They'd end up falling off in ugly clumps within the next few days, or I'd remove them from the discomfort. Sudies: Absolutely no burning from the glue during application. I actually almost fell asleep. Her touch was gentle. She took her time. After they gave me a fan to dry the glue further. Absolutely NO pain or irritation when I blink, and they're so light I can't even tell I have extensions! I am truly so happy with these lashes. I can't believe I'd been driving all the way to Northside spending 30 dollars every week or so on poorly applies, itchy lashes. And the good news is, I'm moving to Southside blvd and will be a hop, skip, jump away from this amazing salon. I live in NYC and get my threading done there. I was skeptical when I needed to get my eyebrows done in Jacksonville as I had a terrible experience at a previous place where half my eyebrow basically disappeared. I have always loved the idea of eyebrow threading but until I lived on the southside there weren't really many convenient places to have it done. I found Sudie's via Groupon and have now been twice (out of the 3 visits my groupon is good for). My eyebrows are naturally quite bushy and grow back stupidly fast (like, going 2 weeks between getting them waxed is pushing it). My first visit was February 27th and I didn't go back until March 31st. I probably could have gone in a few days earlier than that but that's still basically double as long as I can go without waxing. I've heard people say threading doesn't hurt at all and I've heard others say it's the worst (pain wise). To me, it just feels very different than waxing. It doesn't hurt as much but (obviously) it takes longer to have done. Sudie is very efficient and works quickly (always a plus). I find the parking lot a little awkward (plus depending on the time of day, that section of Southside can be crazy) but it's not a big deal. She's is open 7 days a week and I've never had to wait very long. Great local business! read more

I recently moved to Jacksonville and knew that I needed to find a new eyebrow lady immediately. The last wax I had left my eyebrows way too thin, uneven in every way and just ridiculous looking. I found Sudie's Brows through Yelp and figured, why not? There are quite a few good reviews on here! Little did I know; Sudie's Brows is literally five minutes away from my home! Upon arrival, the first thing I noticed was the nearly full parking lot! Yikes! But as soon as I entered Sudie's Brows, I knew why. There were six customers inside, two of them getting their hair done and four getting their eyebrows threaded. I had a 3:00pm appointment and showed up at 2:45, so I didn't mind waiting. Sudie finished her customer and threaded two more customers by 3:00. Because my eyebrows were so messed up, I opted for my eyebrows to be threaded and to also add eyebrow extensions (I didn't even know this existed!) It took Sudie 40 minutes from start to finish to discuss what she was going to do, show me my eyebrows after threading and complete the extensions. She did an AMAZING job and I can't help but smile every time I walk past a mirror! You can't even tell I have the extensions. I appreciate the fact that Sudie explained the process and maintenance regarding eyebrow extensions! She was very polite and professional and answered any and all questions I had during my appointment. I'm glad I decided to book an appointment here. I've officially found my new eyebrow lady! Mercedes is an excellent and knowledgeable hair stylist! I will definitely be returning. I was skeptical that she would be able to do my hair (I'm Black/African-American), but Sudie had assured me on a previous visit that she was more than capable. Mercedes' prices are reasonable, she has a kind and patient demeanor, but more importantly she knows her stuff! She had no problem using my preferred hair products (although she uses professional grade hair products and products for ethnic hair types). Just being honest. I'm a very patient person, I have no problem waiting. But not being acknowledge it's just so unprofessional. I walked in I said "hello" and she looked at me and didn't say anything. She continued doing what she was doing. As I sat down, there was another lady which I believe is the owner, she notice us as well and did not say one word to us. Not even letting us know there was a wait or that she will be right with us. We were waiting there for 15 minutes, an not one word was said to us. They are rude and unprofessional, don't waste your money here. (Towards the owner) please don't respond and make excuses for your lack of running a business, it's your responsibility to address all your customers. This is a well overdue review but I've been coming to Sudies brows for about 2 years now. If I've ever had an issue, Sudie has always made it right and I appreciate her for that. The place is nice and clean, the staff follows safety protocol by cleaning down items before the next client sits in for their service especially during COVID. Sudie is great (I've gotten a brow reshape to balance my face and an eyebrow tint) the process and outcome was amazing! Sudie was so nice to talk to and hearing about her journey with brows. When I do show up for my usual threading session my go-to is Shanni. Shanni does my brows so nice it's literally a masterpiece every time and she actually listens to what I want. For the bad reviews I understand that different threaders may give a result that the client doesn't want, but it's important to remember to have your set brow lady and to not expect every threader to give you the same result from a walk-in. We wouldn't trust just anyone doing our hair, micro blading, or any semi permanent beauty procedure and same applies for brows! :) read more

I visited this place last August. Everyone there was great. They were very friendly. It was my first lash extension experience and I'm glad that after going to other people, I now know what what to expect. Way too much glue was used. It was so hard and bulky. I could feel it everytime I blinked and it was actually quite painful. I'm not going to completely write this place off though. I don't live in the area, but if I ever return, I would be willing to give them another try with a different service. read more

When I moved to the area, I searched a long time--with a LOT of disappointments--to find a good place to go for threading. Sudie's Brows is great! I usually do a walk-in appointment, and the wait is typically short (or reasonable, when I see they are busy). What I appreciate the most is that they use a more hygienic way to anchor the threads, with a thread tied around the technician's neck, versus the gross-out way most places do, with one end in the mouth. I've had a variety of ladies do my brows (including Sudie, the owner), and they are all very thorough and do the eyebrow shaping very well. read more

The absolute worst experience of my entire life. Let me start of by saying that I've been going to Sudie's for almost a year and a half. Over the last year and a half I've been really happy with how my eyebrows and upper lip have been threaded, until today 9/9/19. I came in after work, around 6:30pm expecting a normal threading of my eyebrows and my upper lip. I didn't catch her name but I specifically asked her not to make my eyebrows too thin. She began threading, and she was particularly heavy handed. I've never experienced such pain getting threaded in my entire life. Half way through threading my eyebrows, she rip my nose stud out of my nose and it went flying across the room! Then asked her to thread my upper lip and she was so rough that I actually started crying. Her thread broke on my lip three times. (Let me mention that I've been getting my upper lip threaded for 7 years, I know the pain associated with it. This was a nightmare.) When it was all over she showed me my eyebrows, not only were they too thin but uneven too! I left today in tears. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO SUDIES BROWS!!!!!! Your eyebrows are the trademark of your face, and I have to walk around every day with them uneven until they grow out read more

Sudi messed up my eyebrows 2 days before I went out of town for my birthday. She literally took the lower half of my whole eyebrow off and then tried to blame it on my "uneven brows." No ma'am I've never been told that before. They weren't uneven until she touched them. Even when she took a picture and tried to line my eyebrows up with lines to show they were uneven you could see how they were only uneven because of how much hair she took off. The girls in her shop at the time even agreed that Sudi messed them up horribly. It's been 6 months and my eyebrows are still not fully recovered. Not to mention I arrived at 8pm and didn't end up leaving until 11pm waaayyyy after closing time because of how long it took her to help me and then the amount of time she took trying to fix my eyebrows. The only reason why you're so busy is because you're on Groupon giving people heavy discounts because you lack actual customer base. The way she replies to people's bad reviews online is so UNPROFESSIONAL. She can't admit a fault and only makes up excuses. And then to say that your old employees were fired because they were stealing is a complete lie. She accused people of stealing and then withheld paychecks from employees forcing them to quit. All in all, from the services done at this shop to the way Sudi handles her business it's all around just bad. Don't give this woman your money and just go elsewhere. read more

Before the actual lamination process she walked me through a quick eyebrow consultation to see what I truly wanted. I am giving Sudie 5 stars because I have been a customer since her town center days and have never had a complaint about her work or service. She is clean, professional, and most of all gentle. The last time I visited the Southside location I have not returned. There were new faces and my eyebrows were not horrible it just wasn't what I usually have left with in the past. I had to let my eyebrows grow back and want to return back to Sudie's does anyone recommend any of the new faces? I just don't want to leave with uneven eyebrows. read more

I had cosmetic tattoo on my brows and lower and upper eye-lids 5 years ago by another artist. I recall discomfort throughout the entire procedure but nothing like the PAIN I had this time with Sudie. She did Microblading over my old cosmetic tatto. I must admit she did a WONDERFUL job but it was painful even with the numbing cream. She suggested and I agreed to touch up my old eyeliner. She said it would be less painful...yeah right. I felt like I was being tortured for hours as these procedures take time. At the end my brows and eyeliner look great and I'm pleased, however if I had known it was going to be so painful chances are I would have not done it. UPDATE: went back a month later for the touch up. I'm very pleased with the final results despite the intense pain on the eye lids not so much the brows. Terrible experience. They were supposed to thread and tint my brows and give me eyelash extensions. All three services I normally receive somewhere else but my regular was booked. The glue is cheap and irritated my eyes I ended up taking them out the very next day. The girl who did my eyebrows I told her exactly what I wanted before we began. She didn't let me know she doesn't speak English and gave weird looking coned eyebrows with tinting on top. Moved here to jacksonville and tried out two eyebrow places before I came here-one cut my skin (ouch) and the other was overpriced. This place is just perfect! Went once and i'll definitely be going back. Called the salon and spoke with the owner when I booked the appointment for microblading my eyebrows. Very nice over the phone and answered all my questions. Walked in to pleasant atmosphere. I had forgotten to bring my paperwork but they had no problem giving me new forms. Sudie worked on me herself and walked me through the procedure and calmed me when I was nervous.The work was excellent! She went above and beyond and we also discussed other procedures I had questions about. Also gave me great tips on local Drs as I am also looking for a plastic surgeon. Looking forward to my next visit. Just wont bring my husband... he was grouchy. But we all know men don't care to sit in a salon, lol. read more

Well I have this place 3 stars for a couple reasons. First, when I called to inquire about getting my eyebrows tinted I received a recording which detailed that I would not have to make an appt for threading or tinting, only for permanent makeup or salon type services. With that said I drove the 20 mins from my house thinking I would be able to get the services I was looking for which was an eyebrow threading, and eyebrow and lash tinting. When I arrived I was told she did not have time to do the eyelash tinting, which was fine. Next she asked me if I wanted medium or dark tint and I responded to her that I had never had tinting done so whatever she through was best was fine. She applied the tint and told me it would be 5 minutes and in the meantime another client happened to walk in. Well the tint hadn't even been on 2 minutes before she went ahead and removed it, but I didn't question her. She asked me how I liked the results to which I responded it was too light and we should have went with the darker tint. She agreed, but made no effort to correct the problem. Not sure if this was because the other customer had been waiting 4 minutes or not. So I paid, left my 20% tip and left dissatisfied. To her credit she was very sweet, polite, and the place seemed pretty clean, but I don't know if I'd give this place a try again. Now I'll have to fix my eyebrows everyday until the tint wears off. read more
