I've only been here once so far, but I was really impressed on several counts. 1) They got me in…read morequickly to take care of a pressing flea problem. 2) They charged less than any vet I've seen for the appointment. 3) They had a full house when I got there and pretended that's why they wanted us to wait in the car, which I thought was very tactful. 4) They solved the problem quickly and wo hassle. 5) They did not shame me about letting my cat outside like many vets would, understanding that some cats would have a much lower quality of life wo the stimulation. But the biggest reason I felt compelled to write this review was that a very loud and determined woman was in the room next to mine trying very hard to get her cognitively impaired sister's cat put down. It was a really tricky issue with a whole lot going on, and I thought the vet handled it exceptionally well. He made room for whatever was going on w her but never stopped advocating for the poor kitty to be rehomed instead. There are just so many ways an interaction like that could have gone off the rails. He handled it really well.

I took my dog to Five Mile Vet Clinic for a cyst on her tail. After it was accidentally nicked at…read morethe groomer, she started chewing on it, so the vet recommended tail docking. We were given antibiotics and scheduled surgery for December 2024. Getting an estimate was difficult--I had to follow up multiple times. When I finally received it, the estimated cost ranged from $767.94 to $933.23. By surgery day, the estimate had increased to $962-$1,130 with no clear explanation. After surgery, the final bill was $873.91, but the procedure description had changed from "Tail Dock" ($214.50) to "Tail Amputation" ($363.60). When I asked about the discrepancy, staff became defensive and insisted it was within the estimate range. The vet later admitted mistakes were made but said he would adjust the invoice only if he could add surgery time to make up the cost. Additionally, I was never told to change my dog's bandage after surgery, which led to an infection and a $750 emergency vet visit. While the clinic did provide follow-ups at no charge, I was frustrated by the lack of clear communication and pricing inconsistencies. Based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend this clinic. Make sure to question clinics like this. They are a for profit, maximizing profit over true care for your animal in my opinion.

As another reviewer said, the staff truly cares about you and your cat. They're extremely helpful and kind. Not to mention, they're incredibly affordable. I used to go to the VCA for their extended hours of operation. Their prices were ridiculous and going there always felt sterile and cold. You never got the hands on, one-on-one, personal experience that you'll get at the Cat's Meow. They have an in-house kitty who has 3 legs. They told me he was found on the street after a bad attack by another animal, and they took him in and nursed him back to health, which involved his amputation. He's been there ever since. That speaks volumes to the kind of people who work here: true cat people.

Every time she had an issue, they charged me hundreds of dollars, shrugged, and said she'd probs be fine. Well, when she injured her paw, that was true, though I'm not sure why I had to pay $600 for that "diagnosis." But when my 8yo cat who'd never had so much as a hairball in her life suddenly started throwing up regularly, no, it wasn't just what cats do as they get older. I had to discover for myself she's allergic to chicken and our water was contaminated. The last straw was when she got fleas for the first time in her life. We did everything, but couldn't get rid of them on our own. So I called the vet who said she had to come in before they could prescribe her something, and they couldn't see her for a month. If we'd have waited a month, we'd both have been dead from blood loss. So I got her in to another vet three days later, and now we're happy clams. Wish we'd switched sooner.
