They were super sweet and very calm with him, and he was definitely enjoying the attention they were giving. They made sure to give an estimate of what the visit could cost for certain things, and were very open with skipping things and possibly planning for a different date for the skipped parts, just to make sure he got the best care possible from them. He isn't big on people, but he didn't have a dislike towards them and wasn't scared when entering the office. They allowed the curiosity and didn't try to restrict him to a table outside of the exam, and didn't try to force him into the crate. Definitely enjoyed how helpful they were and how open minded they were to everything. Even though they misinterpreted a couple things I had said, and encouraged things I knew to be unnecessary at the time, they were helpful with the problem at hand.

They could benefit from a more structured system to remind patients when they're due for standard follow up for things like shots, teeth cleaning, etc. We used to go to VCA and appreciated their postcard reminders they would send via mail for pets. I've called a few times with questions that couldn't be answered immediately and they have always called back quickly to follow up with answers which is much appreciated.

But the biggest reason I felt compelled to write this review was that a very loud and determined woman was in the room next to mine trying very hard to get her cognitively impaired sister's cat put down. It was a really tricky issue with a whole lot going on, and I thought the vet handled it exceptionally well. He made room for whatever was going on w her but never stopped advocating for the poor kitty to be rehomed instead. There are just so many ways an interaction like that could have gone off the rails. He handled it really well.

I took my dog to Five Mile Vet Clinic for a cyst on her tail. After it was accidentally nicked at…read morethe groomer, she started chewing on it, so the vet recommended tail docking. We were given antibiotics and scheduled surgery for December 2024. Getting an estimate was difficult--I had to follow up multiple times. When I finally received it, the estimated cost ranged from $767.94 to $933.23. By surgery day, the estimate had increased to $962-$1,130 with no clear explanation. After surgery, the final bill was $873.91, but the procedure description had changed from "Tail Dock" ($214.50) to "Tail Amputation" ($363.60). When I asked about the discrepancy, staff became defensive and insisted it was within the estimate range. The vet later admitted mistakes were made but said he would adjust the invoice only if he could add surgery time to make up the cost. Additionally, I was never told to change my dog's bandage after surgery, which led to an infection and a $750 emergency vet visit. While the clinic did provide follow-ups at no charge, I was frustrated by the lack of clear communication and pricing inconsistencies. Based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend this clinic. Make sure to question clinics like this. They are a for profit, maximizing profit over true care for your animal in my opinion.

Actually, the porcupine may have enjoyed it... I'm not sure. In any case, we needed some serious quill removal. We took him in around 10pm on Saturday night and they were pretty slammed. From start to finish it took a good 3-4 hours to get him treated and released. This isn't ideal, but totally understandable given the business they're in and again, the ONLY emergency vet clinic in town. Whatchagunnado? Total cost was around $700 which seems obscene on the face of it, but my wife (in whose opinion I trust like the stone-etched tablets of Moses himself) considered it quite reasonable given their service, skill and professionalism. They gave our dumb beast total wrap-around care, medicating him for pain and removing 50+ quills. My wife is in the medical field and is a pretty harsh judge of vets. She loved the docs here and found them both highly skilled, knowledgeable and efficient. This reaffirmed my own lay impressions. Bottom line? They did a great job and the service is invaluable in emergency cases. Cost is high, but not outlandish for the service.

You never got the hands on, one-on-one, personal experience that you'll get at the Cat's Meow. They have an in-house kitty who has 3 legs. We brought him in, and the doctors quickly took x-rays and discovered he had a string wrapped around the base of his tongue, which can be very dangerous. The doctors and staff were incredibly kind, compassionate, and understanding throughout the entire process. They clearly explained the situation and the recommended surgery, but it was unfortunately far outside of what we could afford. When we asked if there were any other options, even if they carried more risk, they took the time to listen and worked with us. They agreed to carefully cut the string under his tongue and allow the remaining piece to hopefully pass on its own. They were honest about the risks, but they respected our situation and helped us pursue the option that gave him a chance while still being financially possible for us. They also gave him anti-nausea medication, fluids, and pain management to support his recovery, and made sure we understood exactly what to watch for at home. I'm so grateful for how kind, nonjudgmental, and caring everyone was during such an emotional and stressful time. It was clear they truly cared about our cat and wanted the best possible outcome while also being respectful of our financial reality. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone facing a pet emergency.
