Beans a week after the vet, stitches still prominent, no signs of dissolving.

Update part 2- so when I left the vet they told me that the stitches they gave my cat were dissolving stitches, well apparently not. It's been over 2 months since the incident and they still have not gone away. I genuinely do not understand where they can get off lying like that. They told me in about 2 weeks they'd dissolve. 2 months they're still there.

I can only say from the moment anyone here picks up the phone until the time you leave, you and your pet are cared for. We watched our sweet Aussie struggle to get around as one of his back hips atrophied and when the pain was evident we made the most difficult call any of us ever make. We were heartbroken and assured that we could be seen in a few hours, and when we arrived as the last appointment of the day they ushered us into a quiet room with layers of warm blankets on the floor for our Newman to be comfy. There was only calm and patience from Devon the Vet Tech, they gave us all the time we needed to say goodbye to our long time family member . I have gone through this so many times with my animals over the years. Blackhawk Veterinary Services stands out due to their level of compassion, professionalism, and willingness to help last minute during such a difficult time. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

I wanted to thank the Blackhawk team for being so kind to my beaglet and myself today. It was such a difficult moment letting her go and each & every one of you was so empathetic and caring. You fit us into your busy schedule and it was appreciated. I'll definitely be scheduling my regular care for the rest of my fur babies with you from now on.

If I could leave this review with 0 stars I would. Horrible service here. Don't take your pet here, especially with Dr.Lehman. She does not care about your pet, she is quick to Just charge you and have you out the door. My 7 month old husky had gotten a cut on his ear Tuesday night from grooming him. I accidentally cut him and I wanted to get it cleaned and taken care of because it was bleeding a little and I didn't want it to start to getting infected. I did my best cleaning it and put Neosporin. Normally I take him to get seen in Spokane, but since they were booked I settled for this place and it was the BIGGEST mistake again. The first time I took Kilo here was back in August and I was allowed to go into the exam room with him. As soon as we walked into the room my dog was trying to eat something from the floor and it was a human peanut snack on the ground. That alone is unsanitary and very unsafe for your dog. 0/5 stars alone right there. They clearly did not clean the exam room before I got in there and let me remind you all this is during the MIDDLE OF THE PANDEMIC and they didn't clean that exam room AND let owners go inside with their pets. Only reason why was because it was an emergency & he needed to be seen ASAP... but Back to the second time I took Kilo here, I wasn't able to go with Kilo because I'm SO busy with school so my boyfriend went for us. After the appointment was over which was less than an hour long. He didn't get his ear cleaned, they BARELY even took a look inside his poor ear because he kept resisting, didn't take his temperature which is super important to let us know if he is getting infection, didn't suggest we get a new brush nor told us to stop using the one we have (I threw that brush away), or that we put a cone on him which is SO important to stop from getting infected by him scratching at it, AND to top it off they muzzled him without letting my boyfriend know. It was a very horrible service.. Dr. Lehman had only suggested we gave him oral medication and an ointment that we can buy from them to help with getting infected. My boyfriend called to check in with me and I declined the ointment because we have two that are very good and we're "okayed" by the doctor and we only paid for the medication. The bill was still over $100 for them to "examine" him which they hardly did and get some oral meds. This was all WEDNESDAY of this week. I noticed my Kilo was not getting any better, and he kept trying to scratch at his ear all the time! So I then realized get him a CONE!! So I went to the pet store here in Cheney and got him a cone. I couldn't believe that the Vet didn't suggest I get one or offered me one there for Kilo. Last night I checked Kilos ear to see how he was doing and it's getting worse.. probably because he kept scratching at it with his paws that get dirty from going outside. Friday this morning I called (tried calling Thursday but office was already closed), to let the lady at the front desk how their service was not to my expectations. I spent 37 mins on the phone. The receptionist couldn't handle me so she gave up and passed the phone over to the manager 20 mins into our conversation. The doctor wasn't there either since she's only there a few times out of the week, so unfortunately I didn't get a chance to speak to her. They wanted to charge me AGAIN to go in to get him cleaned after I already paid them Wednesday to see him and get all that done. When I was speaking to the manager she was defending the doctor, kept putting me on hold to gather her information correctly, and was not trying to help me at all. After realizing that, I ended the call I said just forget it I told the manager I'm never coming back here, I'm telling everyone I know never to come here, I'm leaving a horrible review and to have a nice day and that's exactly what I did. She said have a good day bye.The manager was no help, just as HORRIBLE as the receptionist who gave up on helping me, and just as HORRIBLE as the Dr. Lehman who doesn't care about animals, or is probably racist against my boyfriend & probably didn't help as good as she would with a person who looked like her. Very bias. Very bad place to take your pet here. Made the mistake twice people.. DO NOT GO HERE! Kilo is now in more pain and his cut on his ear has now turned into an infection for sure. Thankfully he is on antibiotics for the infection, I have ointment here that I put on him twice a day and he is now wearing this cone almost 24/7 to prevent him from scratching and making it worse. He is scheduled for an appointment at our vet that we normally go to Monday so let's all hope for the best. In the photos below you can see he isn't too happy.. also a picture of his good ear and his bad ear that the doctor took a look at 2 days ago and did not bother to clean nor suggest we get a cone.. just wanted to us to pay for the meds and be on our way.. a HUGE shame on this Place. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE...

i brought my dog here to be put down because he was struggling and having a rough time, they pumped him full of morphine then proceeded to only worry about the payment and if we could get that figured out before they do anything with him, but if that was the case why did they give him morphine THEN decide to worry about it. they were way more concerned with the money than they were my dying dog, and after we got everything figured out they had the audacity to tell me they were sorry for my loss. i requested the inked paw print and it looks like they just slapped his paw on the paper then moved on. there was no effort put into it, he had already passed when they did it so i don't know why the print looks like absolute shit. pets are people's children- there should've been a lot more care and a lot more respect in the situation. i will never be back, the only one who was actually helpful and tried in the situation was the blonde at the front desk. also why the fuck is it almost 300$ to get your pets ashes back on top of the exam and the euthanasia?

They lie. I needed a prescription refill of Vetsulin and they stated the patient is required by law to see the Vet. That is simply not true and only a money grab so they can charge the client two hundred dollars to do a urine test for blood sugar levels. Which I do twice a day with blood test strips. When my cat was initially diagnosed with Diabetes the Vet sent him home with food. He had an A1C level that would put a human in intensive care. And she sent him home with food. I contacted his former Vet, showed him the lab work, and he said the cat should have immediately been placed on insulin. They sent him home with food. My former Vet stated that amounts to malpractice. Diabetes is a very manageable chronic disease with insulin and other therapies. The Cheney Vet Clinic sent him home to die instead of treating him. This clinic is more interested in draining your wallet than helping your pets. I wish I could give a zero star review.

Also cutting her back AND front paws past the quick and drawing blood on almost all nails. Will never bring her back or recommend to anyone with pets. They also proceeded to charge me an extra $85 which I had to physically point out that I was not supposed to be charged that before I got my money back. Which I also had to do when grabbing her from surgery at a previous appointment and they tried to overcharge me and I had to point it out again for them to say "oh sorry that's not supposed to be on there". They try to charge you in any way they can and are extremely shady, providing horrible service and using being busy as an excuse. If zero stars were possible that's what I would give.

My dog, Koa, was boarded at this facility on two occasions: July 3-5 and July 10-14. I cannot determine during which stay he became ill. When I picked him up on July 14, he was noticeably lethargic and not acting like himself. Later that evening, his condition declined rapidly. He became disoriented, was unable to stand to go outside, and his temperature measured 106°F. He was rushed to an emergency veterinary clinic and admitted immediately. Over the next several days, Koa's condition was described as critical. His white blood cell count was dangerously low, he continued to spike high fevers despite continuous fluids and cooling measures, and he required round-the-clock hospitalization. Multiple veterinary teams repeatedly prepared me for the possibility that he might not survive. I was told more than once that his prognosis was very guarded and that we needed to be prepared for the worst. He underwent extensive diagnostic testing, including imaging and a bone marrow biopsy, and ultimately required transfer to Washington State University's Veterinary Teaching Hospital for ICU-level and internal medicine care. He remained hospitalized for nearly a week. The drive to WSU was approximately an hour and a half each way, and I traveled whenever possible just to see him during limited visiting hours, not knowing if each visit might be my last. Despite exhaustive testing, no definitive source of illness was identified. Koa ultimately survived due to aggressive medical intervention, including prolonged steroid therapy and the advanced care provided by the critical care and internal medicine teams at Washington State University. His total medical expenses exceeded $12,000. The owner of the boarding facility was contacted on the morning of July 15 by my boyfriend to inform her of the situation and to ask whether any other dogs had been ill during that timeframe, as this information could have assisted with veterinary diagnostics. Although I am the legal owner of the dog and the individual listed on all veterinary and boarding paperwork, the facility owner never contacted me directly by phone or email. I would have expected direct communication with the registered owner during a medical emergency of this severity. To this day, she has never reached out to me personally. Koa survived, but his recovery was long and difficult. He required months of steroid therapy with significant side effects, including excessive thirst, increased urination, and loss of bladder control--none of which he had experienced previously. Initial attempts to taper him off steroids resulted in serious complications requiring further medical intervention. He ultimately required additional long-term medication and ongoing veterinary monitoring. The emotional distress of nearly losing a family member after trusting a facility to care for him is something I would not wish on anyone. Beyond the medical crisis itself, the lack of direct communication with me as the registered owner was particularly difficult. I am not making claims of legal fault or causation. I am sharing my experience. Pets are family, and facilities entrusted with their care carry a significant responsibility. I strongly encourage anyone considering boarding here to ask detailed questions about illness monitoring, emergency response procedures, and communication expectations. I sincerely hope others take the time to think carefully before entrusting their animals to this boarding facility.

What we have come to know about Dachshund Rescue NW is that they have placed over 2,000 doxies in loving homes. Margo Mossberg is the Director and treats each and every dog as if they were her personal dogs. Before a person that wants to adopt a dog from her Rescue, the applicant must complete an application. When she takes them in she spends time with each dog to determine their demeanor, mental and physical health. She also takes the dog to the vet to have them spayed or neutered, oral exam, update on their vacations and discusses any issues the dog may have. If the dog needs to be treated, it comes out of the money from people who have previously adopted from her. She is very knowledgeable about dachshunds in that she makes it clear that this breed does bark. So if you live in a condo, townhouse or apt., she will let you know that this is not the breed for you. We met Margo this past Saturday at the St. Patrick's Day parade in Spokane. We were very impressed by all of the people that attended the parade to show their support for this Rescue and to see the dogs that they have adopted from this Rescue. We were able to talk to them about their experience in adopting their wiener dogs, and because of our conversations it reinforced our desire to possibly adopt another dachshund from Margo and her organization.
