We had such a great experience with Phuong as a driving instructor that I really wanted to share. My daughter initially started with a different instructor, and unfortunately that experience was stressful--there was a lot of yelling, which made her lose confidence behind the wheel. A friend recommended Phuong, and I'm so grateful we found her. From the very first lesson, my daughter felt much more at ease. Phuong is incredibly patient, calm, and understanding, and she created a supportive environment that really helped rebuild my daughter's confidence. Thanks to her guidance, my daughter passed her driving test today! I truly appreciate the way Phuong teaches--not just the technical skills, but also how she encourages and supports her students. It made all the difference for us. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a kind and effective driving instructor. read more

Success Driving School - Driving Schools Near Me - Fremont, California

Great communication! Service: upon initial phone call they went over what they provide and locations. The cost of the services was the best around. My son needed 6 hours driving instruction. They set up the days and times which worked perfect for his winter break which was that week. I called on a Friday after Christmas then got a lesson for the following Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. It was at 3pm which was good for my son to deal with afternoon traffic driving. Instructor: very communicative via text and phone call. Sometimes he was early, which worked great for us. First lesson: went over rules of road and allowed son to drive with much guidance. Second lesson: more driving for my son and learning to merge or lane change. Third lesson: went to dmv to practice route and what will be tested. Hand on papers were provided to the parent on what to practice. read more

I was satisfied originally with Success. But things changed when I called to make another appointment and was told that the next opening is not for two weeks. What? Called them about two hours ago. Told the person on the phone that I can't wait that long and that I wish to go to another driving school. Then got a text message that the owner could I have a lesson with the owner. Not good enough and too late. Do not use this school. Especially if you are fluent in Chinese. You will get duped. read more

My son just completed his third and last behind the wheel driver's ed lesson. He had two different instructor's but his favorite was Raymond whom he had twice. He states Raymond was friendly and very helpful in teaching him driving stategies and the rules of driving. It was very easy to book all three of my son's appointments when it was convenient for us on weekends and the lessons were affordable. Raymond was easy to chat to after each lesson to get his feedback. read more

Thank you Success Driving School as well as Raymond and Phuong for helping me pass my driving test on the first try! I'm naturally a rather nervous and anxious driver so thank you for being so clear in your explanations and for being patient with me^^!! read more

We approached Success Driving school to teach our teenage son to get his driving license. We had gotten good reviews about Keith from others, so we requested to hire his services. Keith is a great driving instructor whose experience and guidance made my son's driving successful enough to pass the practical driving exam. He is a very encouraging instructor, and was extremely helpful in calming my son down. We knew that my son was with a good instructor from the time we hired his services. During his lessons, Keith will drive around the neighborhood around the Redwood City DMV with my son, which was quite helpful to my son as he got familiar with the city's traffic conditions, types of signals and roads, railroad crossings and roundabouts, among other facets that made my son more prepared for the exam. Furthermore, Keith let him drive through the route, then stop at the end to reflect on his actions, before drawing on paper to describe my son's mistakes and how my son should go about fixing them. He also gave helpful tips for parallel parking, reversing, changing lanes, and other ways to make him more prepared and less abrupt while following the rules in real-time conditions. Last but not least, Keith tested my son's knowledge of all car controls and some other rules, making sure that he was driving at safe speed limits, doing all necessary checks, etc. After my son took his lessons, he was able to pass the driving exam at the first try without any hiccups. I am very thankful to Keith and thus strongly vouch for his driving instructor services. I would also like to point out that their office staff handled the appointments very efficiently with reminders and were flexible for changes as required. read more

My daughter just passed her DMV driving test today (1st try). Her instructor is Phuong. She had 3 sessions plus the dmv package. 3rd session is to go to actual test drive area in Los Gatos. The DMV package is 1hr before the exam, use the instructor car for the test and bring her back home. I will recommend them to friends and family. My friend/coworker actually recommended them :) read more

I am so happy that I passed my behind-the-wheel drive test yesterday at the Fremont DMV on my first attempt! All thanks to my driving instructor, Ken Wong from Success Driving School! He's really knowledgeable, experienced, patient and supportive ever since I started the driving lessons with him! Ken can speak both of Chinese and English. Highly recommended! I am a Chinese lady at old age and had 0 basic experience on driving. I still remember how scared and nervous I was on my first a few lessons. Ken Wong was very patient, calm, and kind in providing the driving tips and correcting my mistakes. He was extremely knowledgeable yet very approachable whenever I had any question even if it was a repeated question. I always enjoyed our conversations and I learned so much from him. He was very supportive on our classes and gave me the confidence. My first experience on the freeway was with him, which was very helpful for me! I am so grateful for the Success Driving School's service. They are very efficient and flexible to organize and adjust the appointment time according to my preference. Much appreciated! read more

KEN WONG IS THE BEST Ken is a old yet kind driving instructor, and he has earned my utmost respect. He's the type of person who you don't see a lot but you respect. He is incredibly patient; I can't count how many times I'd made a mistake but he never got mad or angry and instead calmly corrected my actions. There was one time when I forgot my phone and he was already 20 minutes away, but he decided to bring the phone all the way back, through traffic, and still gave it back to me with a cheerful yet forgiving attitude. Not only that, he'll always try his best to make you laugh and smile, and with a cheerful personality he always brightens up your day and makes you want to have another driving lesson with him. He was also willing to pick me up from school, do the lesson, and drop me off back home without any objections! Main points about him in regards to teaching: 1) Incredibly patient, correcting you calmly and precisely 2) Always asks if you have any questions before and after the lessons 3) Can take control of the car with ease if anything is to happen! You're in very safe hands. 4) Teaches you very well, engraving the correct way to do something. After your 6 hours you will have learned a large amount. From my experience, if you are reading this review, I would wholeheartedly recomend you pick Ken as a driving instructor. I've seen a bad review about Ken and I'm here to argue against it as well: In refutal for Cicily T: She states that: The car is messy + 30-40 min of explanation From my experience: The car is about as clean as your average family car at home, I didn't see anything that was too dirty or too messy The lessons that he gives you are about the usage of reference points, where potential cars may hit you in intersections, where your car should be in certain senarios, as well as how you should utilize mirrors and why you should look over your shoulder when changing lanes through the usage of diagrams, which is very useful as a vast majority of people are visual learners. The lessons are not actually 40 minutes or more; it takes 20 minutes or less. In terms of Success Driving School as a whole: Their company is quite professional, sending you text message reminders as well as confirmations. The company also picks up the phone almost immediately during their service hours. They also give your phone number to the driving instructor in case you need to contact them. Their DMV certificate is given to you directly after you finish your last 2 hours, without you needing to wait for it. Scheduling: You have an option to request for certain instructors without fail. You are also able to do the driving lessons back to back (Like what I did, finished in less than a week's time) or over a few months/weeks. They will notify you a day in advance about your upcoming lesson through text. All in all, I would recomend you choose this company as well as choose Ken as your driving instructor! Thank you. read more

My instructor was Phuong and the experience was not worth the $100ish that I paid. After taking a class with her, I realized I was better off learning by myself. I didn't learn anything useful from the course, and all we did was drive in circles in the same area. Everything she said was directly from the textbook, or can be found and better explained in Youtube videos. She also scoffed at me a couple of times when I didn't do something she wanted, but the thing is, I just really really really could not understand what she was saying. I had a bit of a hard time understanding her accent, and needed her to repeat herself multiple times throughout the course, but even then, I still couldn't really understand. It was extremely disrespectful for her to scoff and shake her head at me when I couldn't follow directions due to not understanding her. I was genuinely trying hard to. Imagine how stressful it already was to be an inexperienced driver, driving with a new instructor, AND to not be able to understand her when she was giving instructions midroad. Ultimately, it was a waste of my money, and I was better off watching Youtube videos and just practicing with an experienced driver. This driving course taught me that you do not need a driving instructor, and if you do choose one, there are plenty of better options. read more

My instructor was Ken Wong and he's fantastic! He was always very nice and patient, and is an excellent driving instructor. We were looking for driving schools for our teenage son. Called many - either they went to voice mail or it was a month out. Success driving school did pick up with a person on the other end. I don't remember her name but she was very nice and accommodating to our schedule. Booked first lesson a few weeks out. We had Yolanda for our 3 lessons and she was the absolute best. She was very patient with my son and gave him valuable tips for driving and passing the driving test at the DMV. The last lesson was the most helpful where Yolanda took my son to the Fremont DMV area and did a practice driving test just like the real instructors did. She even had the same pass/fail test document where he could study on what and what not to do during his real test. Our son got his license on his first try. We will definitely be using Success Driving school and Yolanda for our other kids when they turn driving age. And we will recommend their business to others as well. A+++++++ business! read more

After reading the reviews, I decided to call this driving school to book my daughter's driving instructions. I specifically requested for Ken Wong. Ken was always on time and texted me directly the traffic rules and driving recommendations for my daughter. When it was finally time for my daughter to take her driving test at the dmv, I appreciate that I was able to text Ken with questions about driving rules and he was kind enough to respond back with additional driving advices. My daughter passed her driving test with only 2 errors. Thank you, Ken! Here is a recommendation from me to parents and new drivers, I advise to practice driving around the dmv location where you will be taking your behind the wheel test at so you can get familiar with the area's street signs and traffic rules. Watch YouTube videos for extra driving test pointers. read more

HIGHLY RECOMMEND RAYMOND--DETAILED, HONEST, RECEPTIVE TO FEEDBACK.PASSED WITH A 97% 1ST TRY. 1) I had two 2-hour lessons with Raymond and he was very detailed and tailored his lesson to fit my needs. The previous instructors I had sat me through tedious driving theory for at least 30 minutes which had nothing to do with the practical part of driving. I passed my theory test with an 87.5% so there is no need for the theory unless it directly applies to the practical test. This got so bad that I had to tell Success Driving school not to teach theory, and Raymond listened and understood this perfectly. 2) He taught me theory only to reinforce the practical elements, like pulling over to the curb, turning right within 200 ft and going on the bike lane, staying within your lane while turning left, etc. in fact, I reviewed his drawings many days up to the test which helped me pass with a 97%. Everything that we practiced in a 4 hour session helped me ace the test, and the errors I got were well deserved with going 3 mph above the speed limit while changing lane, something Raymond talked about, and not looking at my blind spot at 1 intersection. 3) Raymond even went over our lesson time from 5:15-7:40pm and I can tell he cares deeply about each of his students. It wasn't about trying to get his "job" over with and be calculators about how he spent his time, he truly loves and cares that each of us passed and always stayed over time to make sure I knew the concepts and understood what he was teaching, especially two days before my driving test. I am so lucky and grateful to have Raymond as my driving teacher and book him for another lesson as it solidified my confidence in driving. 4) Overall, Raymond is an excellent driving teacher with a warm, funny, honest, and open personality and a flexible teaching style tailored to your needs. I highly recommend Raymond to be your driving teacher! read more

This is a late review as I took the lessons back in May. I took several lessons with Danny. He was very patient, friendly, and in no way intimidating, contrary to the rumors about driving instructors out there. I remember a time when I was driving on the freeway with a lot of traffic. I was learning how to change lanes. There were a couple of times that I got so focused with the blind spot that I didn't realize that I was almost going to rear-end the person in front. Danny "saved" me every time and simply told me to be careful - casually and calmly. It seemed like he was used to all those close calls. I understand that being a driving instructor is a stressful job since the possibility of getting into accidents is higher due to having a new driver behind the wheel. However, Danny didn't even show it - he was professional at all times. If there was ever a change in schedule (such as running late or making changes to the lesson time), Danny would call ahead of time to inform me about the changes. I would recommend Danny as an instructor. However, some considerations to keep in mind: Last I heard, he only teaches during the weekends. Also, his schedule can be pretty tight as he has a lot of students. (Understandable - that's what happens to great instructors!) Overall, all my experiences with Success Driving School were satisfactory. I would recommend this driving school to new drivers in the area - especially Danny. read more

I have taken a series of lessons with Jeff and passed my driving test in DMV Santa Clara on my first attempt! Lessons with Jeff were a very pleasant experience. He was extremely patient in teaching and explaining the technicalities of driving. His lessons cover anything you need to know for the test, as well as give you the extra tips that come very handy to help you pass the test. More than passing the test, he teaches you to be a safe and careful driver. Another big plus, he was always on time! Definitely recommend Jeff and this driving school! read more

This is a public service announcement....my 15 year old daughter is learning to drive. For your safety and the safety of others, please remain in your homes for the duration of her lessons. Haha!!! I really wanted to like this driving school. Both the lady I made the appointment with and the instructor were so nice. What I didn't like it that the instructor spent the first 45 minutes of my daughter's 2 hour lesson in my driveway going over questions from the permit test my daughter already passed. I was paying for driving lessons not sitting in the driveway and going over rules of the road. My daughter also said she struggled with understanding the instructor. I think it was a language thing. We are an Asian family, but we don't speak Mandarin or Cantonese. Success Driving School may be a good match if you or your child speak those languages. I decided on Success Driving School because of the great yelp reviews, but I should have gone with my friends' recommendation instead. My daughter said it was cool to drive a Prius. read more

I passed my driving test after taking 3-4 sessions with Yolanda. She is an amazing instructor and very patient with me as I was a pretty new driver. She took me on an actual DMV Test route which was very helpful. Also, made sure that I know all the traffic rules. read more

I used Success several years ago, but this time through they were terrible. They were late for each appointment (and, did not make up the time on the back end). They made my daughter feel very uncomfortable, were rude to her and even laughed at her during the driving lesson. The teachers were not able to properly communicate with her which ultimately left her feeling very stressed out when it was time for her drivers test. I do not recommend them. read more

Took my first lesson at Success Driving School with Ken and did not learn anything useful. The drivers side seat belt was in poor condition and the car was messy. He wasted about 30-40 mins out of my 2 hour lesson just sitting in the car explaining driving techniques that didn't actually help improve my driving skills. In my personal opinion, it felt like he was trying to squeeze more lessons out of his students rather than having their best interest. He also made a pit stop at HIS own house DURING my lesson. NOT ACCEPTABLE AT ALL!!! The lesson was a waste of my time and money. Would not recommend taking lessons with Ken! read more

I took around 15 lessons with Ken Wong, during which time I went from having zero driving techniques to driving confidently in heavy traffic and on highways. And I passed my driving test with flying scores. Ken was very strict on me, but always mild and patient. He taught me not only how to follow the traffic rules, but also how to read the ever-changing traffic scenarios; not only how to drive with fewest mistakes possible, but also knowing what mistakes other drivers may make and how to prevent myself from getting caught in incidents in the first place. He even gave me a lot of useful tips on how to pick a right car after I passed the driving test. I felt very lucky for being able to learn from a true professional. I would recommend success driving school to any beginners. I truly benefited a lot from my experience with them. read more

I would recommend Natalie for slow learners and Phong for quick learners. Both teachers are knowledgeable, dedicated , punctual, hardworking, honest, polite and professional. Natalie thoroughly explained and gave me a copy of 'Evaluation Score Sheet'. She drew on a sheet of paper some important driving rules & handed it to me. She is very creative and thorough. You won't have any problem understanding their accents. They charge $85 per 2 hour that can be paid after every class. The school sends reminder on cell phone a day before the class and the receptionist is very cooperative. Once i cancelled a class after confirmation and they did not charge me. Thank you, Natalie and Phong for all your efforts. I have finally passed my test and both of you have really helped improve my driving skills. read more

Extremely happy and satisfied with Success Driving School. Both my daughter and my son learned driving with instructor Ken Wong and they passed easily on their first attempt. My teenagers highly appraised Ken for 1) being polite and on-time, 2) very experienced and knowledgeable, 3) being patient and efficient when teaching, 4) being so friendly and easy-going, 5) following up with parents to provide the driving lesson's summary and encouraging my kids to practice more. Overall, it is very easy to book lessons with Success and they also send text messages for schedules' reminders. My youngest son just passed the permit test earlier today. I definitely will schedule driving lessons for him with Success. read more

This summer my daughter registered for driving lessons with Success Driving school. Her instructor assigned was Jeff. She took 6 lessons, each of duration of about 90 minutes. Jeff was prompt on time and was easy going and he was extremely patient and made her drive on highways as well and my daughter felt very much at ease while driving and as he was instructing her. She felt no pressure at all while driving and in effect she was totally comfortable. Since the driving test was to be in San Jose, the instructor made her drive around that area so that she would be comfortable on the day of the test. I could see that Jeff had taught her well when I took her driving in my neighborhood the week before the driving test. She got her driver's license on her first attempt in September.... I highly recommend Jeff. read more

I took the drive test on the first pass. Thanks to everyone at success driving school for all the efforts and help! read more

Took 3 classes with Raymond. He was on time every day, and taught me well. I passed the DMV test in Santa Clara on my first attempt :) In addition to this, this driving school is perhaps the cheapest when it comes to price. 85$ for 2 hrs of classes. 105$ for the driving test with an instructor (your can't drive alone until you're given a license). Raymond even helped me with some of the formalities there. Ultimately, I only made 3 minor mistakes (you can make up to 15) and got my license. 5 stars. read more

My son had a great experience taking his behind-the-wheel training with them. His instructor for all three lessons was Ken Wong. They're affordable, reliable and from what my son indicated, Ken was very funny, patient, thorough, and not at all intimidating or condescending. I particularly loved how they send text messages the day before reminding you of your upcoming lesson. The bonus was Ken, possibly by sheer coincidence, actually took my son on the same exact route that the DMV instructor ended up telling my son to take on the day of his driver's test. Score! Needless to say, my son passed his test thanks in part to Success Driving School. read more

She was always on time and provided tips for the driving test. I was terrified of driving in the beginning but she helped me calm down. I'm a slow learner but she was patient and went through everything step by step. It felt like I was driving with a friend, rather than an instructor or parent. I passed my driving test on the first try thanks to her. Thank you, Yolanda! read more

Phuong wasted 40 mins for the first appointment going over theory. In the third appointment after my wife had enough practice on stops and turns and asked explicitly for Lane change training Phuong only did 3 lane changes in 2 hours.
