I felt like I was in a movie with Johnny Depp playing John Dillinger, or that Al Capone was going to race down Main Street leaning out the window letting his "typewriter" lose, with a black and white cop car screaming up behind him. It just puts you in a different period. And the food! My goodness. We ordered the Hot Honey Chicken Pizza, Jalapeño Artichoke Dip and my wife got a side of the Ginger Carrot Bisque. Phenomenal, all of it. I don't know what I enjoyed the most. The pizza was a perfect 10" size, with incredible flavor and crunchy crust. They certainly do not skimp on toppings. The artichoke dip was insanely good! The naan bread was baked to perfection and sprinkled with a perfect amount of salt to complement the dip. The soup was a good as it sounds too! Service was top notch. We were seated immediately (around 9pm) and our waitress was very helpful. She made sure our drinks were topped off and kept us up to speed on the status of our food. We will absolutely be back and we will be recommending Tavern 109 to all of our family & friends.
