We have been trying to find new spots for lunch when in Joplin and found one for sure that we will…read morereturn to. Union Station Deli is a great place for lunch. It is NOT fast food but everyone knows you rarely get good food fast. It has a bit of a 40s vibe with big band music as background. I didn't get our waiter's name but the ticket said Music Man. He is friendly, attentive and stayed busy. I had the Big BLT and onion rings. 4 slices of bacon with garlic mayo on toasted, thick sliced white bread. Plenty to eat and fresh. Excellent sandwich. The onion rings were almost as good as Chicken Annie's. Deb had the Big Dipper and broccoli cheese soup. They both looked delicious and since she didn't have a leftover to take home, I would guess it tasted as good as it looked. I didn't think they were overly busy for 11:30 so help them out and go try it.

However, what is not so funny, is that all their sandwiches are one high price of 15.75 which also included things like grilled cheese and fried bologna which is just crazy to me. Now, I got the French Dipper and it was good. However, it was not bursting with flavor so it was a bit disappointing IMO. The onion rings were hand cut, but did not save the day either, luke warm and just alright tasted. Nothing to write home about :(. They did take very good care of us with a tandem wait staff and that was fantastic!!

Looking for a new and fun place to meet up for this latest trip, we stumbled across The Bruncheonette in Yelp. Sooooo thankful we did. It's located at the northern edge of downtown Joplin on main street. It's a small quaint place with both on and off-street parking. We could tell immediately that we'd made a popular choice based upon the large number of cars and folks waiting to get a seat. The hostess welcomed us just outside the front door and us we'd be seated shortly. She was great and very nice to chat with. We had to wait outside a short bit before we were escorted inside. The space and seating is limited for sure. There are tables as well as some bar-style seating along the edges of the restaurant. The environment was busy, fun and lively. Our granddaughter loved all the action. The person who escorted us in then actually took the extra time to explain their menu and options, which are posted on boards above the checkout counter. The menu is limited and made up of a combo of traditional lunch/brunch items. But they are all done with a unique and delicious flair. Sort of a twist on the traditional bunch options. All of us enjoyed our meals. We had breakfast street tacos, a salmon cake eggs Benedict special, French toast, the fruit plate and a pancake. All of the portions were good sized, ingredients fresh and tasted great. They even went the extra step to bring our granddaughter some fried cheese to munch on. Very kind. I also got a laugh out of the fun pictures in the bathroom as well. Hilarious. The restaurants location allowed us to enjoy a stroll around the downtown area afterward brunch. Great place, great staff. We now have a new "meet-up" spot in Joplin!

As soon as we walked in, we were warmly welcomed and asked if we had visited before. When we said no, the chef walked us through the menu, highlighting their locally sourced ingredients. I ordered the pancakes because I was eager to try the house-made syrup--and it absolutely lived up to the hype. My husband went with the pulled pork pancakes and loved them. We also tried the carrot fries, which were delicious. Overall, it was a fantastic experience with great food and a welcoming atmosphere. We'll definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone in the area!

Instead of listening and getting all sides of the story or giving a written warning of any sorts they were both fired for voicing their concerns. Apparently they like to take sides instead of doing any investigation or listening to their staff. Corporate will be hearing about this along with any legal repercussions that can be taken. Firing two people based on a he said she said situation is absolutely unacceptable, especially since they seemed to be short staffed already and cannot get a sandwich made in a decent time for the life of them.

As usual, the product I got was a sloppy version of the one on tv, but I admit it was excellent. The turkey met, stuffing and cranberry sauce were all top notch. The big problem is its hard to handle and eat without the filling falling out. I had them hollow out the roll to prevent the problem and it didnt work. The sub arrived piping hot (good thing) but due to the moisture from turkey and stuffing it made the roll limp. Even cut in half it was a challenge to handle without the filling falling out. Price for a large was $15 but after rounding up for firefighters and 10% tip my cosy was just under $18. Expensive but will easily feed 2 people

Same old frozen fried. And sorry, not a catfish fan. And even that is frozen fried. Nothing beats hand dipped and fried cod fish. Tropicana in Joplin puts out a delicious plate of fish and chips and has been my go to place. Read a review of Culvers fish and chips. Im here to tell you, Culvers puts out an excellent plate of fish and chips. And yes, hand dipped COD! ordered the three piece and have nothing but praise. It was hot, fresh and crispy. All 3 pieces were same size. Coleslaw was very good, tarter sauce matched perfectly to fish. Crinkle cut fries were hot and tasty. And they actually had real lemon wedges versus those messy squeeze packs of fake lemon. I didnt take any chances and brang my own malt vinegar and cocktail sauce to officially make it a feast. I was all smiles from ear to ear as i dined. The restaurant was well staffed with friendly staff. The servers wore matching uniforms and looked cute wearing pony tails. I was so impressed I asked to speak to the manager who I gave a flowing review and congratulated for my wonderful experience. While most food chains are scrambling to stay alive, its no surprise Culvers is winning and expanding. If your lucky enough to have a Culvers near you, give the fish and chips a try
