I think she came on but had to shut window because of rain. Pulled around and parked in a puddle and went inside. Two ladies were busy chatting. Another lady had headphones, talking and filling orders. The 2 ladies finally finished their conversation to wait on me. I ordered a bowl of honey walnut shrimp with noodles and a bowl of orange chicken with noodles. While the first lady was getting the shrimp bowl the second lady asked me what else. I repeated orange chicken with noodles. She proceeded to put something with mushrooms in a bowl. I asked her if that was orange chicken and she looked at the other lady who nodded so she corrected herself. Anything else? Yes a diet coke and Powerade. They gave me a Powerade and a coke. Asked me to eat here or to go. I said to go. Paid. And waded to my car in the rain. My grand daughter said there was no forks so I waded back in to exchange the coke for a diet Coke and get forks. I ll never stop there again!!!

Fourth time's the charm--and let me tell y'all, Double J's is still swingin' for the fences. I've…read morehad their fried fish and shrimp plate more than once, and the chicken fried steak? Big, bold, and done right--twice. This last visit I dove into a crispy shrimp po' boy with hand-cut fries, fried green beans, and fried okra that took me straight to grandma's Sunday table. Everything was fresh, seasoned, and hot--nothing sat under a heat lamp. The bread on that po' boy had just the right chew, and those shrimp were the real deal, not that frozen nonsense. This ain't some corporate chain menu--it's a local spot with heart, consistency, and Texas-sized portions that respect your plate and your pocket. I'm not here to argue ingredients with folks--I'm here for good food and good people, and Double J's keeps showing up with both. Support your hometown joints. Double J's deserves the love.

It's great for roadtrips too, because you can order in the drive thru, and a few minutes later they'll call your name on the loudspeaker outside, which gives you a perfect few minutes for dog walking.

All I can say is - wow! This was my first time visiting Victoria and while staying for a few days I…read morerealized pretty quickly the small town didn't boast too many unique options. However, every time I searched or asked about a place to try, Dairy Treet came up. The original location was not far from my hotel so I stopped just to try the ice cream and fries to see what all the hype was about. Well, I get it!! The ice cream had such an authentic milk flavor to it and was the perfect consistency and flavor, you can tell they've been serving it up exactly the same from day one. It was so good, in fact, I went back the very next day to try more! The steak fingers weren't the typical texture and fry you see on most, but felt more like a Salisbury steak (in a great way) and the gravy was the star of the show. Top off the food with a vibe that sets you right back to the 50's with the lovely architecture and tunes playing while you wait/eat - Dairy Treet is a treat for sure! I live two hours away and have already made up my mind that the drive every once in a while would be worth it!

Ordered a Freddy's original with lettuce & tomato (must ask for it otherwise only comes with pickles, onions & mustard). NO cheese please due to my dietary restrictions. My husband ordered the Prime steak burger, comes with grilled onions & mushrooms and he added grilled jalapeños. The service was quick and friendly. Well, my burger had cheese and I didn't realize until it was too late, like more than several bites in. Oh well too late. It was really good with the lettuce & tomato I will order again this way. Without cheese of course. My husband said the grilled onions on his burger were bitter, and there might have been two grilled jalapeño slices on his burger. It was also a little on the salty side. French fries were cooked perfectly. Love the shoe string fries next time I'll get a larger size order of fries. Total cost for two burger meal deals with one mini custard was $34.00.
