I enjoyed the fact of not having to buy per scoop from a kid behind the counter that has skinny arms. If you get a little skinny kid with no muscle, he gives up before getting a full scoop. Here you pick the container and they fill it. That's the way ice cream buying should be. I like all the stuff that you could put in it although I did not partake of it. I got a waffle cone with coffee ice cream and double dark chocolate. Staff was friendly, store was clean. I read some of the other reviews and did not find that those problems existed. The store did not have a great smell for some reason, but it wasn't terribly bad either. I did not sit and eat my ice cream. We got it, got in the truck and headed down the road, enjoying the bovine excretion concoction.

The original location was not far from my hotel so I stopped just to try the ice cream and fries to see what all the hype was about. Well, I get it!! The ice cream had such an authentic milk flavor to it and was the perfect consistency and flavor, you can tell they've been serving it up exactly the same from day one. It was so good, in fact, I went back the very next day to try more! The steak fingers weren't the typical texture and fry you see on most, but felt more like a Salisbury steak (in a great way) and the gravy was the star of the show. Top off the food with a vibe that sets you right back to the 50's with the lovely architecture and tunes playing while you wait/eat - Dairy Treet is a treat for sure! I learned the next day that the space had previously been a Firehouse Subs, which suddenly made the layout make a lot more sense. I could see three employees working during my visit. Service was efficient and reasonably quick, although not particularly attentive once I had my food. I ordered the spicy Kikko ramen with pork and chicken along with an order of egg rolls. The egg rolls were good and came with a carrot garnish, although I was expecting the carrots to be pickled and they weren't. The ramen was definitely the highlight. The broth was creamy, rich, and delicious, and the noodles had a good texture. The chicken started out a little dry, but interestingly improved as the meal went on and it had more time to soak up the broth. The pork was excellent--easily one of the better pieces of pork I've had in a bowl of ramen. The egg had good flavor and texture, although I was a little disappointed to find only half an egg. More importantly, the center was still slightly cold when I started eating. Overall, this was a very good bowl of ramen with a few minor execution issues. Next time I may actually let the bowl sit for a couple of minutes before digging in so all of the toppings have a chance to come up to temperature. I'll definitely be back, and next time I'll probably skip the chicken and see what else on the menu can compete with that pork.
