My wife hyped this place up a bit. Not sure her memory is holding up…read more She has been here and eaten it before. I normally just grab a drink or water when I have come through. On the way back from AL we stopped for gas and were hungry. This place is connected to, and part of the gas station. Normally I would not review a place like this, but I feel I should be a sort of warning for Yelp-type travelers. Not recommended! Food is not good. C decided she wanted cheeseburger casserole or some shit. Cashier called it hamburger helper. That should have been enough to walk away, but as I grabbed some salt and pepper off the counter she says, "oh yea, your going to need that, the morning cook doesn't season the food at all. She is looking out for all of the elderly that come here". Sign number two and three. No seasoning added and it was made by a morning cook. It was 18:40 at this point. Should have run to the car right then. We added three packs of salt and a whole packet of Texas Pete, but nothing helped. Add the fact that's it was a mushy mess. Nope. I thought chicken tenders and potato wedges would be a safe bet, but was wrong. They were so dry I think I tore my esophagus trying to swallow them. I picked through it and got a few bites but then just threw it away too. Would not do it again for any reason. Cashier pulled the extra star for being cool and trying to warn us. It's in an old dirty gas station. Just pass by. '26 - 94

We sat down to eat and work - and Heather was so kind, personable, and professional. She always made sure we had everything we needed and she was fun to talk to. We were busy writing, editing, and going back and forth to film for our newscast - and Heather continuously checked on us, made fun conversation, and didn't miss a beat with accommodating to our crazy schedule. Heather is such a bright light, and she is the perfect example of how everyone should be. Dolly's Tennessean Travel Stop is lucky to have her - she has a really bright future!

Have you ever been to a gas station and had a giddy smile the entire time? Well, you will if you…read morevisit Dolly's Tennessean Travel Stop. My friend and I drove 2 hours from Birmingham, Alabama to visit DTTS. It's some of the best parts of Dollyworld (Dolly, food, swag, glitz, and music) but available without paying an entrance fee. I ate in the restaurant where you have a choice for a BBQ entree or homestyle buffet (but you can also get two items from the buffet as a side for your entree too). The food was fine. The service was extremely slow, and the line can get quite long if you want to visit during a peak meal hour. Bathrooms are clean. The gift shop was over priced ($8 for a sticker, $20 for an ornament, $50+ for a bag or brooch), but obviously fans will pay the price for our beloved Dolly. Her tour bus is bedazzled and parked outside the building. In the aftermath of her passing, there was a fan wall to sign. Good luck finding space, but where there is a will, there is a way. FYI: There is gas and service station across the street and I don't know how long it will realistically be able to stay in business. PS: I saw a man who looked just like Abe Lincoln, and the staff says he's a frequent patron at the coffee shop- an added tourist sight bonus for your visit.
