Definitely one of the better Subway locations I've been to in a long time. It was super clean inside, the staff were friendly and moving quickly, and there was a steady flow of customers. Have to emphasize the high level of cleanliness here and the very good service. I ordered a salad based on the turkey sandwich, and added every veggie except pickles, plus olive oil and red wine vinegar on the side. It's kind of small for $10.54 after tax (see receipt), but I was in a pinch for something as I forgot my main part of my lunch at home. Overall the salad ingredients were really fresh, and once mixed, it tasted pretty good overall. With my three hard boiled eggs I brought from home, it was a pretty filling and solid meal. I give this Subway a 4.33/5 stars (high for any fast food honestly) and definitely think it's one of the better locations in all of San Diego city. read more

Just found out that there was a change of ownership a few weeks ago. I think the 2 friendly employees that reviewers were talking about is also gone. Subway is not consistent with their promotional campaign. Take the Sandwich of the Day Combo Meal - on TV commercials they are priced at $4.99. On the website for this location, it goes for $6.99 until a week ago. With the new owners, per a poster in front of the store the price has gone up to $7.99. Some other locations do not even offer this promotion even at the higher prices. Not sure if this store is struggling or not - noticed that the bathroom needs improvements and in my last and earlier visits, the staff were complaining that the oven was not working properly. Iced tea was taken off the dispensing machine the last time I was there. A long-term ex-owners I knew for a long time sold the place a few years ago and move to Texas. I came into the Subway location at 4 PM on Saturday on a perfect hot summer day. I just got paid so I was really looking forward to treating myself to dinner. The first thing I noticed when I walked in is that the store was immaculate. All the veggies looked like they had just been stocked and I was greeted by a sweet young person, whose name was Kaylee. Given the location of this particular Subway location, i was very pleased with the customer service I received here. The girl who made my sandwich was on the quiet side but she made my sandwich exactly as I requested. I ordered a footlong Turkey sub & I get it toasted w/ the onions, bell peppers + oil on it bc it softens the veggies and really adds a nice kick! Id highly suggest trying it.. The girl who made my sandwich was so sweet + had such a great personality. I was super surprised there was only one person working at 4 in the afternoon on a hot summer day, in the middle of a serious commuter/business district.. It's pretty obvious that management short staffs this place to cut corners & try to save $$ and I just find that unacceptable. This is an extremely busy area and so I was shocked to find only one person working behind the counter. My msg to mgmt: step it guys & staff your store adequately bc this affects customer wait times, as well as staff morale. At the least you could start by giving this girl a raise. 9/20/24 I called in at 340pm to pick up 3 sandwiches. The girl I spoke with said that she didn't feel comfortable making the sandwiches without me present. In the past I have called in before. Its called a phone order. Again she refused to make my sandwiches. I was so irritated with the customer service that I picked up mexican food instead. Always quick and efficient, especially when I usually order anywhere betweeen 2-6 sandwiches for all the employees at my work since they are located two blocks away from us. When its larger orders, I just call in. Smaller orders, I just walk in. They are usually busy around lunch time because thats when all the nearby businesses come by to grab lunch as well. But I'm usually always in and out of the place within 10 minutes or so. The only thing that sucks is that I noticed that when you get double meat, its actually only 1.5 meat total in your sandwich because, that extra order of meat is cut IN HALF. Been coming to this subway for about 5 years. I almost always use a mobile coupon. This place has a very high turnover rate, so your chances of getting someone who appears to have never seen a sandwich in their life is great. Dealing with sloppy sandwiches has been bad enough, but when your employee refused my mobile coupon I gladly allowed them to throw the entire sandwich in the trash rather than allow me to save a measly $2. whats cheaper? I definitely visit a subway at least 2 times a week it seems. Sadly I almost always get the same things: Chicken Breast Salad topped with Subway's own Fat Free Honey Mustard Dressing (Yum) or The 6-inch Subway Club (minus ham) on wheat and again topped with Subway's own Fat Free Honey Mustard Dressing (Yum) both are Low calories but High satisfaction!! We have all been to subway. It's usually the same experience every time. I've never really had a bad experience at a subway, which is pretty damn impressive to start. However, today I popped in here on my lunch break and had an exceptional experience. All the staff was great, but one in particular blew me away. Based on my receipt, her name is Trisia. She was the one who actually rang me up. She could not have been kinder. She offered to wrap half and keep half out for me to eat there. But when I really got impressed is when I sat down to eat. Every single person who walked in and out of the door was greeted and thanked in the most genuine way. On top of that, she came out and checked on every single person/table and asked "is everything ok?" And even more incredible..."can I get you guys anything?" I never complaint, but this is for the health of others. For your health beware!! I thought it was my body, but every time I eat at this subway I get food poisoning(diarrhea, stomach cramps etc.) and to make it all worse today I found a small ROACH smashed in between the napkins I was given here. It was so disgusting. I'm never going back to this location. I went to the Subway at 8080 Clairemont Mesa Blvd on April 12, 2021 at around 11:30 am. Been to many different Subways and all have been consistent, except this one. I always order the Italian BMT on flatbread. I ordered the 12 inch. For toppings I always have spinach, tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers and onions. For the 12 inch, all other Subways put 6 slices of tomato, and 6 slices of cucumber. The preparer at this location put only 5 slices of tomato and 5 slices of cucumber. It may sound petty, but the 1 less slice of each veggie made a noticeable difference in my enjoyment of the sandwich. The prepare's decision to short me one slice of each veggie has cost this Subway my business. No reason to do business with this Subway when all others Subways won't short me on the toppings. read more

My Subway of choice out of the many on Clairemont Mesa Blvd. because one of the workers looks like my old assistant manager (cool dude) when I worked retail shoe hell at Vans. They always say "Welcome to Subway" which is nice and the place is clean. And I see they always change their gloves when they come out from the back. Everyone hates on Subway but I swear every Subway at lunch time has the same long lines. We have many undercover Subway fans in San Diego. I like roast beef, seafood sensation (comes and goes) on wheat thank you very much. I always get a footlong and eat half for lunch the day I buy and then eat the other half the next day. I come here for lunch almost every day. They are very nice and always remember what kind of sandwich I like. I order the exact same thing every time. Turkey on nine grain honey oat, no cheese, not toasted, lettuce, green peppers, mustard and black pepper. I bring my own bottle of water to drink. Total out the door $4.35. Only 280 calories. Always say to go and there is no sales tax because you're just buying fresh food without any preparation, ie toasting. If you get it toasted or you dine in, you'll get charged sales tax. Just a little tip from cheap old me. I'll be back here tomorrow or the next day. I like sitting outside on the patio too. read more

I took my family to this Subway last night for dinner and we tried the new Autumn Carved Turkey Sandwich that was advertised on our T-Mobile Tuesday App. We have previously been turned down from other Subways in the area when we tried to use our App discount. Went in for two foot longs today. Lydia took care of me. This girl has some SERIOUS customer service issues. RETRAINING A MUST! I asked for 9 grain, they didn't have any, I asked for Balck Forrest ham, they didn't have any. When she charged me for the sandwiches she told me it was 12 dollars. I told her I had asked for two $5 foot longs and that if they ran out of ham that wasn't my fault. She said "sorry". She also said, get this, "I can't give you a receipt, we ran out of paper". Everything was great today :) as soon as I walked in I was greeted and helped immediately. The gentleman (Scott?) male with glasses. who helped me asked me what I wanted and I told him so that way we could avoid going down he line ingredient by ingredient and make it that much faster! He did a great job of putting it together and being friendly about it. He didn't miss a single ingredient and also up sold me the cookie (which I love and would have bought anyway!) haha I ordered the oven roasted chicken only with lettuce,pickles,jalapeños, spinach and one drizzle of ranch. I got my oven baked lays and powerade :D I come to the area about once a week so I'm glad I know I can come to a consistent and reliable location. So get this, I was totally shocked and the manager did not care. I went in and ordered a 12" Subway Club Sandwich on 9 grain wheat, everything is going fine so far and the employee picks up a handful of ham, she starts from the top throwing away the green and discolored ham until she gets to a slice that looks ok and then starts making my sandwich. I asks her why the other ham was throw away and she stated it had gone bad, well the bad ham was sitting on top my good ham? I asks to see a manager and the manager was more worried about the line then customer service. I will never ever eat at a Subway again. On 09/06/2016 in the afternoon around 4:40 PM, My friend and I walked in for a couple subs, when we were trying to tell the staff (a young man) what we want, he just turned away without saying anything, ignoring us and kept putting breads into oven, that left us an awkward moment waiting for him. Then we ordered 2 6-inch, one is much longer because he was careless and looked at something else while cutting. After he warped the sandwiches, he just left them on the counter, again turned away without saying anything. Those subs are free from Tmobile Tuesday gift, we didn't pay anything, I don't understand if getting free subs can be treated with this kind of attitude.
