I traveled to Saluda, NC to pick up the newest addition to the family, a German Shepard. We had a little time to spare so we decided to stop at this subway. It was very clean, the staff was nice, and the food was great. I ordered a 6 inch steak and cheese on Italian herb bread, so good! All in all, no complaints for this subway location!

Made me sick, I believe that it was the tomatoes.

I don't normally like subway but this one is the best! The most friendly people own it and it's really fresh!

We found ourselves in Saluda, NC exploring some their historical landmarks and businesses and…read moredecided to stop in at Ward's Grill hoping they were still serving breakfast, fortunately for us it wasn't past the 10:30 AM cutoff and the grill hadn't transitioned over to lunch yet. I absolutely love these small town restaurants and couldn't wait to see what unique local favorites were on the menu - they certainly have all the traditional breakfast offerings along with Coca-Cola products, fresh coffee and plenty of sweet tea. The biscuits and gravy caught my eye as I scanned the laminated menu and after our drinks arrived it was decision time and I hadn't fully committed so our wonderful server gave us an additional few minutes. Okay there's no better way to experience the local flavor than ordering the homemade fare - 1/2 order of the homemade biscuits and gravy with a side of "Charlie's Spicy Sage Sausage" and a giant pancake with a side of crispy bacon. When my plate arrived I immediately knew I made the right choice, the light biscuit was fluffy with a crunchy bottom smothered in a delicious sausage gravy and the sage sausage was to die for it was definitely spicy but the hand formed patties is like nothing I've experienced before. Whoever the hell Charlie is he should be extremely proud of his creation it's exceptional and of very high quality. The pancake was perfectly executed as well and one pancake is a large portion so if you order more than one you better be extremely hungry - it light and fluffy and stands tall on the plate, add lots of syrup and real butter and it's something worth bragging about. The staff here are happy people and it shows they take pride in what they do, besides the food being absolutely delicious it's very reasonably priced. This little diner like atmosphere is beautiful and I feel lucky to have found it, it certainly could be a destination...

First time here and we're very happy. Excellent tasting burger, and fries were super good…read more Service was very good too. Of course the dinning room was old fashioned just like it was back then. It's a little more expensive than I was expecting but worth the cost.

We were headed to the Greenville Spartanburg airport afterwards, when we decided to stop somewhere and eat on the way. We had plenty of time, since we were going to be at the airport about 6 hours early due to a brunch being cancelled in Weaverville due to an accident involving another family member. The first sign we saw that interested us was for two places in Saluda, North Carolina. We decided to exit and take a chance. It was a good choice. After a short 1.5 mile drive in the beautiful countryside, we arrived in the tiny village of Saluda. It was really a quaint and scenic place. We drove past our restaurant choice, but saw no parking. We kept following signs to a parking lot, but suddenly the road we needed to turn on was closed for construction. I kept going to find a place to make a u-turn, when we suddenly saw Green River BBQ and pulled right into the parking lot. We opted to eat inside. At first we, being from San Antonio, were concerned that the dining room wasn't airconditioned. Believe me, it didn't need it! A very friendly server named Joey came to us right away, seated us, and took drink orders. When he brought our drinks we ordered our meals. My wife had a sliced brisket sandwich with fries and coleslaw. I ordered the BBQ Melt (Smoked pork on a king's Hawaiian bun with melted cheddar cheese & Duke's mayonnaise & smothered with caramelized onions.) Without knowing what it was, I substituted tomato pie for my fries. The food was all excellent. My sandwich was so big and loaded with pork that I couldn't eat the last fourth of it. I didn't want to be stuffed on a flying day. The pork was better than any pork I have been served in Texas. They really know how to cook it in the Carolinas. The coleslaw was rich and creamy. I really liked it. The tomato pie is a hard one to describe. The best I can do is to say that it is like the squash casserole we get in Texas, but replace the squash with fresh tomatoes. It was cheesy, gooey, and had a super great tomato taste. The service here was great. I watched as about 6 staffers were setting up for a big family group that came in after us. They worked like a finely orchestrated marching band. All I can say is this: Skip all those other chains that are along Interstate 26 and go to Green River BBQ!

I can't rave enough about the flavor and service at Boon Choo... the owner and all the staff is always welcoming and friendly and the food is so yummy... the Panang curry is so good, I could eat the curry as a soup by itself! The garlic ginger soup is so delicious as well. Their tempura spinach is an excellent appetizer. A bit far from us; but definitely worth the drive for us, so very yummy! The location is cozy, but it always feels very inviting. Sorry I don't have pictures... the food is so good I always gobble it up before I take a picture :-)

I've been to a lot of pho restaurants or restaurants that have pho. This was definitely different…read more You only have 3 choices of protein to have in the pho, beef, shrimp, and calamari, or all three. Of course I chose beef but it wasn't good part of the beef. The spice level option was also different. I'm used to having chilli oil on the table and I can put as much as I want. The levels, 1-5, doesn't really allow me to experiment with the spice. Secondly, I had to get my own water, and put up my dishes when I was done. THAT was different. Lastly, the pho brother was not what I was used to. It didn't have that authentic taste and beefy taste. It wasn't bad but it definitely tasted like it already had hoisin and siracha in it. And the white onions were definitely cut too thick and so much in my pho. On top of that, the broth was a little foggy. 1-10, the broth would be a 6 for me. I didn't order anything else because pho is my to go. Go try it out and see what you think! 2.5-3 overall everything.
