Aloha guys and gals! I was in the mood for a sandwich. I decided to give a nearby Subway a try. I haven't been to a Subway Sandwich shop in ages. I dropped in to their Poway, CA location. The store was bright and airy. A female employee was working behind the counter. She greeted us as soon as we walked through the door and was ready to take our order. She was friendly and helped us with any questions we had. We decided to go with the Veggie Delight sandwich. We chose Italian Herb and Cheese bread. We added Monterey Cheddar, lettuce, spinach, tomatoes, cucumbers, green peppers, red onions, pickles, black olives, jalapenos, banana peppers, oil, red wine vinegar, mayo, roasted garlic aoli, black pepper and salt. I watched as my sandwich was made with care. I was happy with the quality of ingredients and how the sandwich was made to my liking. If you prefer to have your sandwich made ahead of time, you can place your order using the Subway app. You pick your bread and all customizations online and pick up your completed order in store. The app allows you to skip the customization process in the store and gives you the option to create your sandwich at your own pace. All in all, I was glad we dropped into Subway. Zero stars! Pick-up ordered two sandwiches with Extra black olives -- receipt confirms it -- but they've been out for weeks. Still sold it to me without a word. Tried to resolve it: Store phone? Disconnected. Number on receipt? Declined my call twice. Corporate? AI told me to hang up and fill out an online form. Got an email admitting they knew they were out of olives but offered no refund, no voucher, nothing. If you can't provide an ingredient, don't sell it. And if you mess up, make it right. We were on our way to the movies and just needed a quick bite to eat before heading in. We ordered online and within a few minutes our order was ready for pick up. I got a 6" turkey on flatbread with some veggies and it was really tasty and packed with the toppings I had asked for. The sandwich was tasty and fresh and very satisfying. The store wasn't packed but busy for being mid-afternoon'ish. Staff was nice and there is plenty of seating inside the store and outside. Love the location and will be back for sure! read more

Color me impressed. Haven't been to this subway in years because some lazy high school kids were working. I don't normally write food reviews but I do have to say that the sandwiches have gotten better since the last time I went. These being, the sandwich was filled (no empty bites for the entire thing), presentation was actually really nice, the sandwich was well crafted and had good ratios for everything. I strive to have a sandwich like this every time I go to subway. Please Poway location keep up the great work. I want to start going to subway again. I love Subway! I always order a 6 inch turkey and ham on wheat with pepper jack cheese. The toppings are lettuce, tomato, onion, jalapeños and pickles with mayo and regular yellow mustard. Great sandwich! BUT, the only downside is the mayo and mustard are spread on the top of the sandwich. If the fixins aren't tucked in well enough before the sandwich is wrapped, you lose the condiments on the wrapper, which makes for a messy sandwich. This won't stop me from going to Subway in the future, though. The service was good. The woman was on the phone in the back when I came in and when she came out front, she kept talking on the phone and acknowledged me by nodding. Sounded like she was working out a food order. Once the call was over, I placed my order and was on my way. The store was very clean and the fixin bins were still clean; the fixins weren't intermingled with each other. I usually have a great experience going to this particular Subway in Poway, but unfortunately, I am forced to have to write a bad review on this location now. I went to this Subway a couple of nights ago at approximately 8 pm. This one worker (a white male with glasses) was the only employee working there. Just as I have told him what sandwich I have wanted, he immediately tells me that I could not eat my food inside the store, because he had "just cleaned" the entire lobby. I asked him what time did the store actually closed. He said at 9:30 pm. WOW. He still had one hour and a half and he closes off that lobby THAT early? I told him, "Never mind. I am leaving now." I ended up going to The Habit and that restaurant actually closes at 8:30 pm, yet they still let me eat inside their store after 8:00. As soon as I had stepped outside, I actually saw at least TWO people eating inside that same Subway restaurant after 8:30 pm. The same male employee was still in charge at the time. I have a feeling that because I am an Asian, he might have been a racist and he purposely did not let me eat inside that store. This is extremely disappointing. I won't be coming back to this Subway as long as he works there. What a terrible customer service he has! SMH read more

Spent over 45 dollars worth in food and the owner attacked us as we were leaving for putting lemonade in a water cup. She physically attacked my daughter. Then he ordered like 7 sandwiches. I honestly thought I'd be there a while, but Morsal was SUPER fast and on it. Not only did she notice I was there and made sure she understood I was waiting, she was very fast. she got my order in her head quickly so she could start making it asap and she got the other customers sandwhiches out in no time. It was a matter of like 6 minutes honestly. She was incredible and very kind. You could tell Morsal had very good customer service skills and enjoyed her job. Got 4 six inch subs tonight and the 3 stooges working there are a compete joke. First, opening the bread with their hands, not a knife. Not seen that at a subway. I had to ask him for new bread because the one he opened was all mangled and the inside would've been a mess. The guy making the subs was just throwing stuff on it and they were a complete mess. The low ratings for this Subway location are certainly well deserved. Will never go back to this location, and apparently, from the lack of response from management or the owner to all the very recent negative reviews, they just don't care. Went in today and ordered a foot long sandwich on italian bread, and a 6" sandwich on white. The worker pulls out a foot long bread that was clearly burnt. Like super burnt and crumbly hard. I asked if I could have a non-burnt bread and was told "they are all like that". Great. (see picture attached) I would have changed the type of bread then but they had already started making the sandwich. Then they pull out a tiny, 4" looking stale, already cut piece of white bread. I said "wait, I wanted a 6"!" (thinking the bread he pulled out was a kid size or something. I was told "This is 6 inches!" I should have just told them to forget it at that point, but was starving. A 5 year old could see the bread was not 6". (see picture attached) The meat was sitting in the metal bins IN WATER, the tomatoes were white, and the lettuce brown. No thanks, never again. Isaiah & Zack Did a spectacular job making me two delicious foot-long sandwiches. Despite the fact that they were quite busy and the wind never let up, they both managed to give service with a smile and the sandwiches they both made not only looked delicious but they tasted delicious as well. I have written multiple reviews for this subway location and generally speaking the review is either hot or cold. I am not sure if management keeps changing or call what external forces are influencing the quality of both the service and the food. With all the speculation aside, I just want to offer a sincere compliment that these two gentlemen that helped me tonight made me look forward to coming back because they truly made my subway experience a delightful one. I have been coming to the subway location since I moved to Poway about 6 years ago. For a while I stopped coming back because the quality of the food and service were inconsistent and also, the store and the bathroom we're not being kept clean. The two gentlemen that help me tonight offered me service with a smile and a sense of humor (which ALWAYS HELPS!). The area where the sandwiches were made was kept nice & neat and this was the first subway experience I've had where restaurant was still making hot and fresh bread at 6 PM at night. It goes to show that the two gentlemen who were working held themselves to a high caliber of workmanship bc they take pride in what they do. I commend this subway location for paying such close attention to detail because the little things really do pay off to a regular like myself. Both Isaiah and Zack did a great job keeping up to speed with the volume of customers that came in right behind me. They both kept up a very positive attitude and their smiles never faded even as more customers kept on rolling in. Both these gentlemen are worthy of management material because they said a great example for all the other subway employees that I have encountered over the past 10 years. Thank you gentlemen for helping me have a fantastic end to a very busy workday. We have been going here a couple times a week for years. 99.9% of the time it's been a great experience with a great sandwich. The workers are always very nice, especially Carla. They welcome you in and make a sandwich just the way you want it with no argument. But this time I encountered the actual owner. She should stick to owning and stay out of the customer service part of the store. She was rude and arrogant and made a lousy sandwich. Bragged that she owned 3 stores. She never said welcome in. She put a ton of pepper on the sandwich which we did not want and then blamed me for her mistake because I was talking. If you make a mistake, just say I am sorry and fix the sandwich, without blaming the customer. We asked for triple tomatoes and she said "You have extra tomatoes" very short tempered. She watched me leave a good tip although she didn't deserve it and never bothered to say thank you. Let the workers do the customer service and have the owner stay in the back. read more

Last Thursday night 830 pm, I went in to your store to order 5 footlongs plus 5 bogo sandwiches. The two boys working the counter did not know how to take my order, so they called a manager,her name was Carla. The boys told her what I wanted, Carla said she would be in 10 minutes,and she would help me because, I couldn't download the app to my phone, Carla said she would help me with my order, so I waited 20 minutes, I even purchased a soda and churo, while I waited for Carla to show up. I waited because the two guys couldn't take my order bogos 5 sandwiches. Easy right the next morning I went to pick up my 5sandwiches plus bogos I only got the 5 sandwiches. Carla failed to add the bogo sandwiches, I was totally upset, I was on a time frame. I ordered 5 sandwiches and 5 bogos, I told the am manager that I needed 40 total sandwiches, she refused at first, and told me I needed to pay for 5 more sandwiches. The night before I paid in full 60 dollars, and the manager said I had to pay for 5 more sandwiches, so I paid another 60 dollars, she made them very skimpy and sloppy. Those people are rude and not management people. I went back the next night to talk to the boys that were there, Carla came out of the back yelled out my name I felt as though Carla was making a joke out of the situation. First, I would like to say how incredibly frustrated I am, I went to this store 7/23 and had a great experience with a nice young man even gave him a couple dollar tip for being so nice and positive. I went back today to order the EXACT same sandwich and the younger girl told the person in front of me that he cannot change his cheese on #10 all American club. which is the exact sandwich I ordered yesterday. She then proceeds to say he cant even though every single time I've gone to subway with your "refresh menu" I have... he then gives in a says ok fine. The little girl with glasses is the rudest person I've ever seen in a customer service job. She kept rolling her eyes at me and when I went to get a drink, almost every soda was out. I told her and she yelled "well your gonna have to wait till I'm done ringing everyone out" there were 8 people in line to be rung out. Two people came up to me outside and told me they were shocked by how rude she was to me. SHE SHOULD BE FIRED!!! Now an update: she also messed up my sandwich, I asked for lite sauce and she smothered it, and didn't cut it. There's so much sauce it's inedible. This location is actually open. Went in for lunch today, there was one customer before me, and three employees that I could see behind the counter. The manager, Andrea I believe, was too busy filling up the cookie container to help or acknowledge us. So we stood there waiting to be helped for over 5 mins before she decided to call someone to the front to help us. The girl that helped as very, very slow and did not like listening to my request for the sandwich. The food was fine but it took almost 20 mins to get our food. Twice I've been in the store in the last month and they haven't had some basic protein choices - meatballs, rotisserie chicken, roast beef. The veggies were rough looking and they have no ice. The store looks unkept and the staff seems frustrated with the situation they are in (I would be too having to tell people "sorry, we don't have that".) This location used to be good. Subway is Subway. The "healthier alternative" to fast food. But every so often one comes along that stands out. What makes this one the best one I've been to is the people. Especially Eric and John. The owner and a manager are great too! Friday is date night for my hubby and I. So I pick up Subway dinner for my two boys who are 11 and 14. We started coming here in 2010 when they were 8 and 11. It's at the point where they see us come in and know what to make LOL. The new garlic bread was a nice edition. And I LOVE their soups when I go. Great service and friendly staff can take a chain place with "the usual" and turn it into an experience that makes you laugh. This place has done that . In 2010 Chaz was there. he was a great guy. What a joke! First off, both me and the guy behind me in line were asking what the sandwiches that were on special were, they had no idea. The guys answer was "the menu changes daily" I then asked, well it says there are 5, and he said well whatever the sign says we will honor it, and I said, the sign doesn't say, and he said idk what to tell you. Then no one knew how to make a wrap, it was made poorly. My sons sandwich did not have pickles, and to a 4 year old, his sandwich was now disgusting, so I had to deal with that. Worst location to go to for a sandwich. Last time they didn't have any mustard (and they're right next to a grocery store). Today, the bread was like chewing on leather and the meat and toppings were halfway out of the sandwich making it impossible to eat. They should at least try to keep the items IN the sandwich.
