I had a pretty good sub at this Firehouse Subs. I had the Hook & Latter with Monterey Jack Cheese on a wheat roll. The sub sandwich was tasty. I like that they put a good amount of ham and turkey in the sandwich. The cheese melted a little bit in the sandwich. The lettuce and tomatoes were both fresh in the sandwich. They did not put enough onions in the sandwich as I would have liked but it was still good. I liked the whole wheat roll. It was definitely better than what some of the other sandwich chains offer. It was toasted nicely with a crisp exterior and a soft warm center. The staff members were friendly enough. They were kinda slammed when I arrived, so they were zeroed in on their work. I got a small sammich just to try it out and I wasn't really impressed with this place. I got turkey breast, provolone cheese, shredded lettuce, cucumbers and banana peppers toasted on garlic bread. I could not taste the garlic bread at all and my sammich was barely warm so they didn't really toast it. My biggest complaint about this sammich is how wet it was. It was dripping nonstop and was kinda gross after a while. I also wish they gave slices of cucumbers instead of little itty bitty cutup pieces. The pickle they gave on the side was decent. The sandwich was so amazing!!! I loved that the veggie sandwich was a hot sandwich, the cheese was on nice and melted and had a nice stretch to it! The veggies they used tasted very fresh and the pickle was so crisp! Not only did I enjoy my sandwich, I also enjoyed my experience as a whole. The staff was very helpful and walked me through all the ingredients that would be on my sandwich without me asking, which I appreciated. Total scam / false advertising. Beware fraud alerts for multiple failed payment plus other issues. I had a craving for an Italian sub and saw a "2 for $24" large sub special on both the Firehouse Subs app and website for this location. I tried to place the order multiple times; the payment kept failing and even triggered fraud alerts from my bank. I called the store to ask if they could honor the promo in person since their online checkout wasn't working. They said the deal wasn't valid in-store and wouldn't honor it, even though it's clearly shown online. Between the broken checkout and the mismatch between advertised and in-store pricing, it felt like a bait-and-switch. I chose to take my business elsewhere (Jersey Mikes, baby!). Hoping they fix the website/payment issues and align promos across app, web, and store. Feels like a scam. Do not recommend. read more

Great subs for our staff today! We ordered multiple subs from here today instead of 2 of their other competitors because we wanted to try something new. Everyone was happy with their subs. If you are eating right away then the hot subs are good, but when you have to wait a little longer then its best to do it cold. They tasted great! We ordered 10 subs that included a mix of Italian, Firehouse Steak and Cheese, Club, Hero, Veggie, Ham and Smoked turkey. Oh and of course....what is a sub without the chips. We ordered a variety of different chips like Lay's plain, Cheese, jalapeno, etc. This Firehouse is located in the plaza with Starbucks across the street from Mira Mesa High School near Carls Jr. Great staff....thanks Lionel for helping us out with this order and giving us great recommendations. The parking lot is a hot mess!! People driving in the wrong lanes, no lights in. Parking in parking spots that aren't parking spots and running stop signs. So. During lunch time , before I knew there was an app I had waited up to 30 min to order my sandwich and receive . It gets pretty busy , they have the cashier taking orders and getting the drinks . So firehouse had the name of the day for names starting with x, y & z so I had to hit up my parents' local firehouse for a free medium sub. I used to work at CVS nearby approximately 10 years ago so I remember the customer service being always pleasant. Once again, I was greeted warmly by the female cashier tonight. I ordered the hero with extra jalapeños. I believe the associate may have been new because a gentlemen next to her who was making the subs had to remind her of some stuff. Regardless, I found out you could get your the bread of your sub toasted with the meat cold which is how I like it. And they also provided me with some hot sauces since I did not see the usual display of hot sauces due to Covid.
