Food tasted fine. It's Subway--it tastes the same no matter which one you go to.
Customer service, on the other hand... We received coupons in the mail and when we tried to use them they had a bunch of restrictions regarding which subs it applied to (the coupon only said it didn't apply to the supreme subs, with nothing listed about it not applying to the premium subs, e.g., steak and cheese, roast beef, etc.). (We weren't the only people in line annoyed about it and mentioning that the coupons wouldn't work for the subs they wanted.) Ok, that's fine, franchised businesses make local restrictions all the time (though none of the other Subways in Eaton have these restrictions...). We just ended up spending a lot less money there than we would have if we could have used the footlong bundle deals (we would have gotten 3 for $12) instead of the BOGO 6" deal (2 for $5).
But when the "sandwich artists" were making our subs, they just acted like it was an incredible inconvenience that we deigned to have them make us subs. First they chopped off and threw out a couple inches off the end of the roll (they were eyeballing it, so maybe they made an 8" into a 6", or maybe a 7" into a 5", who knows, but either way, they could have just left the bread and not put the toppings all the way to each end...). Then, when they were having us say what we wanted on the subs, they literally grunted at us after we said each item, as if they couldn't wait for us to hurry up and finish so they could get on to the next person in line. The whole experience just felt incredibly rude and made us feel so unvalued as customers.
Long story short, next time we'll drive out of our way to go to one of the other Subways in town where they actually appreciate your business. read more
