I love this place. It's hometown pizza & grinders at its finest. Delicious and fresh…read more Staff is always amazing, no matter who is at the counter. Restaurant seating is inviting and clean. I'm so glad to have this restaurant in my home town.

I'm usually good at stopping eating when I feel satisfied. I never feel the need to finish…read moreeverything on my plate or push past that full feeling. But this willpower went out the window with the sandwich I got from Mancino's. I literally did not want to stop eating it. Every bite was delicious and satisfying. The sandwiches are huge, and although I was uncomfortably full halfway through, still I pressed on because I needed that grinder in my mouth (pause). I think what makes Mancino's sandwiches so good is that they are all toasted. I think you can ask for your sandwich not toasted, but why would you? The cheese gets all melty, the bread is slightly crisp but still soft in the middle, and the whole thing is just warm and delightful. I got the BLT (bacon, lettuce, tomato), which you'd think wouldn't benefit from being toasted, but you'd be wrong! This BLT sandwich also has a mozzarella cheese blend in it, which sounds super weird for a BLT, but just go with it. I suppose you could ask for a different cheese, or no cheese at all, but you should just trust that the fine people at Mancino's know what they're doing. After all, they've been doing what they're doing since the 1930s! (According to information that I gleaned from their website. Look at me using my journalism degree.) I was able to order ahead on the phone, and they told me it would take about 15 minutes, which was perfect. When I showed up, my sandwiches were hot and ready for me. And bonus: The people who work here are incredibly friendly and efficient.

The employee described how they made their fresh sandwiches and what they had to offer. After it is assembled, they can even toast your sub on a panini maker. I had the King sub, which was fantastic, along with a combination of discounted chips and a fountain beverage. They also offer homemade cookies and soup. Flat-top seating with an essential atmosphere. Clean restroom. Bottle soda, water, and sports drinks are available. I will return and recommend.

Seating options include, high and low tops and partial booths. The restaurant offers an open concept and decor is simple with a slight industrial flair. We have visited for both breakfast and dinner and were greeted warmly each time upon entering. On a whim we tried them for breakfast and our breakfast experience was very nice. We selected the loaded biscuits and gravy and the classic French toast both were delicious, full of flavor and nice portions that offered a bit of leftovers. (none of this is pictured) Our dinner experience was planned based on a specialty menu offered for a holiday that grabbed our attention. We made reservations and planned to try several things from the menu. We figured that since this was the only menu offered that evening that special care and attention were being given to each dish. We started with two appetizers: brussel salad, their version of bruschetta, and a couple of cocktails. All were decent and tasty but not necessarily "special". We decided on entrees of the flat iron steak and blue crab pasta. The cut of steak was very nice quality and cooked to perfection. But that is where the experience ended. The accompaniments of mashed potatoes and fresh green beans were lack luster, the beans definitely fresh but not seasoned nor were the potatoes, the only flavor on the plate came from the demi reduction. The pasta was very disappointing, the lump crab linguine ended up being canned meat atop of noodles. My dining companion was very put off by the dish but at $30 for the plate, they thought they should at least try it. Needless to say, we didn't finish either meal and asked for a take away box as to not leave two half eaten meals on the table. We will definitely keep Arms and Embers in mind for breakfast and good service but will steer clear of partaking of other meals.
