This location doesn't except corporate coupons.. claiming they can't afford it. Seems a bit greedy to me.

I had the monthly special of a catfish poboy which was very good. Different than why you would get in Louisiana but I think of it as a more upscale version! There's street parking all around the block where it's situated and a city lot. As you enter, you hit a reception podium and they offer seating in the bar area as well as in a dining section. This is a large open space with high and low top seating. We chose to eat near the bar at a high top table. Behind the bar is an impressive bottle selection. Sadly you can only see the liquor list via a QR code, which is slightly inconvenient and annoying, as my cell reception was not great in the building and the list loads sloooooowly. They explained that they would have to be constantly updating a printed list, which I understand, but then A) post a WIFI password/link on every table with the QR code and/or B) get a tablet or two that you can give tables so they can just see the electronic list in a bigger, faster format. We both had features cocktails from their menu. My Manhattan was very good. My mom enjoyed the bourbon smash more after she squeezed her lemon into it, as it was on the sweet side. Mom enjoyed her avocado steak salad and said it was quite good. I'm a little irked to see a $0.50 add-on for an extra side of dressing. That seems cheap in this day and age. I ordered an Impossible burger, with the toppings of their garlic mushroom Swiss burger. I'm not sure why everyone's version of a veggie burger is always the one with the most basic toppings on the menu. We might not eat beef, but vegetarians still like flavor. While the toppings were good, the burger itself was undercooked and only vaguely warm. I was offered a choice of 4 different fries - I chose sweet potato fries. Again, I'm irritated after the fact to see there was a $2 upcharge. They weren't that great and sweet potatoes are not that much more expensive that potatoes. So, yes, my lunch was disappointing across the board. Service was by the bartender, Brad, and a crew of others kept checking to see if we needed more drinks or anything. They definitely did well in the service arena. Of course, a manager or someone noted when I took the photo of the bar area and said she hoped I was leaving them a great review, so they might have paid extra attention. Too bad it wasn't to my food. We chose to come back and try some bourbons after our day's adventures. We sat directly at the bar, where there had been a staff shift. This bartender seemed pretty unknowledgeable about the selections on offer and even how to make the drinks. Ours were good, but under chilled. I'm not sure she understood what having a drink "up" meant. Which, you know, is weird at a cocktail bar. Again, the list was slow to load. I think we'll go back and we'll try other items. They have a couple veggie friendly menu items. We're impressed by their bourbon and whisky selection. They just need to up their game in a few areas.

    Old Germantown - Milwaukee pizza

You know I love a good hidden gem…read more Old Germantown is just that. We were in the general area-ish doing some shopping and wanted to get some pizza for takeout some place closeby to enjoy at home while watching the Olympics (because it's in Italy--so pizza seemed like just the thing). A search on Yelp brought up this place as somewhat closeby. It was after dark when we went in search of it. We drove down a rural road past what appeared to be a driveway that led to a farm. This can't be it. We tried again. Navigation brought us to the same driveway. My husband was ready to give up. I decided to call the business. A kindly gentleman answered and said--yep! It will look like you're driving to a farm but we're here! As we got closer to the end of the drive we saw a bustling parking area. While it might be hard to find--the people have found it. And, so did we. We entered to find beer hall vibes with tons of communal seating. We asked if we could order to go which they were more than willing to accommodate. We found a couple bar stools at their bar, ordered our salads and pizza, and then enjoyed a couple of stout beers while we waited. The beers, salad, and the pizza straight from their wood fired pizza oven were all fantastic. We got one of their specialty pizzas which was a white pie that comes with ricotta (as well as mozz) mushrooms, and basil on a crust that has just the right amount of chewiness and char. Lovely! The folks working here were above-and-beyond friendly. And, one told us that they have a large outdoor patio during pleasant months. We will definitely be back during the pleasant months. And, let's be real--during the less than pleasant months as well. Get to it!

You can open a tab on your phone for yourself or everyone you're with. The food came quick. First we had spinach artichoke dip. The chips were salty and crunchy (a good thing) and the dip was very rich and flavorful. Next came out our pizza we got margheta and a pepperoni pizza. Both were amazing the pepperoni pizza was very cheesy something about this place all the flavors were rich. The margheta pizza was also amazing everything tasted like it was created in the restaurant. You can taste every ingredient in the pizza welly combined. The lemonade was also homemade and came in beautiful cups. Overall the food was amazing. I definitely will be coming back and can't wait until the summer the outside of the restaurant looks like it's going to be beautifully lit up and a great vibe. Almost forgot about desert!!!! The chocolate gelato tasted nothing like anything I've had before it tasted like you were eating a chocolate bar like the expensive chocolate bars. Definitely a hidden gem that deserves hype.

The restaurant is very small, with limited bar seating and booths, and there's no real place to wait inside. Everyone waiting for a table ends up awkwardly standing close together near the entrance, which wasn't very comfortable. You have to check in at the bar, and unfortunately the bartender seemed visibly annoyed whenever groups tried to add their name to the waitlist. He rolled his eyes and came across as pretty grumpy, which was a rough first impression. I honestly considered leaving, but I was really craving pizza, so we stayed. Once we got a table, we had to go back up to the bar to place our order. We got cheesy garlic bread, a deep dish pizza with three toppings, and three sodas. The sodas were poured right away, and I carried them back to the table myself. About five minutes later, the garlic bread was ready, and I went back up to grab that too. When food is ready, they yell out your order and vaguely point in your direction while saying "front" or "back," which works but isn't exactly organized. One positive surprise was the deep dish pizza. It came out much faster than expected. Most deep dish places take 45-60 minutes, but this one was ready pretty quickly. The food itself was very good and definitely the highlight of the experience. When we finished eating, I went up to get a to-go box and pay. That's when I noticed sodas are not free refills, though they're priced at $1.25 each. We ended up paying for six sodas total (three originals plus refills), which honestly wasn't bad and came out to about the same (or even less) than unlimited soda elsewhere. Still, it would've been nice to know ahead of time. I was also unsure about the tipping situation since we did all the running around ourselves: ordering, picking up food, carrying drinks, and paying. I left a 10% tip, but it felt a bit unclear what's expected in this setup. Overall, I really enjoyed the food, especially the pizza. The experience was just dampened by the lack of a waiting area and the initially grumpy bartender (though he did seem to lighten up as the night went on). I'd come back for the food, but I hope the service and organization improve.

We opted to get the pizza par- baked so we could heat it back up when getting home in Milwaukee. The ingredients were fresh and the sausage had a slightly sweet and spicy bite. There were signs talking about the placement of the cheese versus the ingredients and everything seemed standard to me.

One I have a tax exempt number because of this is a religious function and second was that I had a 20% off coupon. I was told I could use both. Using that 20%off made is reasonable to be able to order the subs. Upon looking at the receipt, I thought that the amount was more than I had calculated. The receipt only showed $10.00 for the 20% off. (My entire bill was $385.00) Which made the amount well above what I was expecting. Also noted that we could not obtain points because it was past the 4 days to enter. EVEN though we didn't pick up and pay for the order until the 19th. Upon asking the store manager about these questions he was polite and just stated that it was the corporate policy about the limit of $10 off. I did not note that on our phone conversation. And that yes, the 4 days had past. The manager gave us the corporate number to call. We did contact them and they just told us that it is the policy that the limit was $10.00. Even though we were not informed or that was noted on the coupon. All corporate would do is give an additional points. How would that help our past religious even or even a few subs credit. I have ordered from them before for this same event and had no issues. But the cost was also less which made it reasonable to use them. The subs were great and ready on time. My complaint is that the corporate offices are not in tune to keeping recurring customers. I will not be using Cousins again for any further functions. Will also try different Sub shops chains in the future.
