After being introduced to this place by a friend who had tried this place, I immediately started…read moreresearching what I could get here. Friendly tip: they have a groupon available right now where you can get 6 empanadas and a sauce (salsa) andfor $24. But if you contact the owner beforehand, you can get the same deal without purchasing the groupon, which can help a local business save some extra fees. I called beforehand to place my order so that it would be ready by the time I got there. They have a wide variety of flavours to choose from. Their deep fried picks pertain to mozza cheese, while the oven baked ones are more meat focused. I ordered an assortment of different ones so that I could try a little bit of everything: cheese only, cheese + mushroom + green onion, cheese + chorizo, spicy ground beef, regular sliced beef, and chicken chimichurri. There is definitely a difference between the deep fried empanadas and the oven baked ones. I definitely have an unhealthy favouring of the deep fried ones, but the oven baked ones are a good alternative if you're trying to stay on the healthier side. My favourite empanada was the cheese + mushroom + green onion. They were generous with the cheese (read: cheese pull action was evident), and the mushroom had such a fragrant and strong flavour. As for the meat selection, it was so-so. I tried to be adventurous and try something different, but trying the others helped prove my initial prediction - which was that ground beef is the go-to as it is your typical empanada filling.

We ordered a variety to get a good feel including the ground beef, chicken chimichurri, shrimp and the cheese churizo. I would definetly recommend the shrimp and the churizo. Didn't really care for the chicken chimichurri. It wasn't bad but not amazing either. One thing I did not like at all was the salsa, way too much cilantro for my liking. Otherwise prices were fair and you get a free empanada for checking in. I didn't really like the location, it was in this weird industrial place but there was plenty parking. The decor wasnt bad, there's great art work however there was room for improvement.

Pinoy Filipino Kitchen is located in the food court of Pacific Place Mall…read more Pinoy serves a variety of Filipino stews including chicken, pork, fish and beef. One, two and three item combos are all available which include your choice of meat dishes plus steamed rice. In addition to these mains, Pinoy also offers a variety of Filipino desserts (word of warning, though, the desserts have no English, so you'll have to ask if you are not familiar with this cuisine). On this visit, I tried the Adobo chicken which came in a soy sauce based savory broth and a pork dish in a sweeter sauce. Both meats were on the bone, which resulted in super tender cuts. For a two item combo, the price comes to $10 even with tax.

For a filipino fast food restaurant, this place is surprisingly delicious and authentic. For $10 we…read moregot rice, chicken adobo and pork menudo. Everything had been stewed for a long time and the flavour had soaked into the meat. The pork menudo was especially flavourful with a tomato and green pepper based sauce. They seemed to have a lot of other interesting authentic filipino dishes to try. Don't be frightened of them using whole animal cooking. There are different parts of a chicken all cut up into one dish (no organs though), which I think is awesome because chicken breast can be pretty dry and boring. They also had a bitter melon dish so be careful about that! They've got guts to serve bitter melon. To me, it shows a commitment to their cuisine.

What a great find!…read more We enjoyed the beet salad 10/10, beet chips 7/10, the ranch burger 8/10 , the spicy mushroom mozza burger 10/10, and the Mr. chicken panino 10/10! There is an abundant selection of beverages too. Everything was delicious and I would order them again! The service was prompt, kind and the manager made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal.

What a lovely sweet find along 10 Ave! Was in the area for medical travel and found this burger…read morespot across from MEC. The ranch burger and milkshake would of been more than enough for me (as that was a very hefty burger!) but also tried their smash browns (big potato chunks crisped up and super delicious enough to take home the remainder). I really liked the layout and lighting in the restaurant but as an added bonus, there is also a patio out back (I think you still need to go inside to order at the counter though) and free 3 hr parking for those eating there. I didn't realize about the parking until after I was done my appointment (that would of saved me from struggling with paying for parking on an old iphone that doesn't like indigo QR links...). So now I know for next trip to Calgary this is the spot to stop. Also, just an extra nod to the the two working (I believe they both were owners). Super friendly, will chat or leave you to enjoy your meal and really went the extra step with bringing out the good hot sauce and ketchup even before the meal was ready.
