The North Midway Travel Plaza has gas, a convenient store, a bagel place, Subway and Starbucks. My partner wanted Subway for lunch, and I needed Starbucks and a snack for the road. The lady who worked here on Sunday morning was really attentive, she built my sandwich perfectly and neatly, and she also made small talk with me. She told me she was up all night watching a Chinese drama on Netflix, and me being Chinese I had to fact check to confirm that it is a Chinese drama. I looked up Love the way you are, and it is indeed. I started watching it myself, and I'm grateful she made me aware of it. I'm also grateful that she showed up to work, and it felt like she wanted to be there and was eager to make this sandwich. I ordered a foot long spicy Italian on Italian herbs and cheese bread, toasted, and had all of the veggies except for the jalapeños and black olives. When I asked for light / easy mayo, she did really thin lines which was perfect and exactly how I wanted. I was also pleased to see how she was able to neatly put this sandwich together without meats and veggies falling out of it. In Chicago, when I order this exact sandwich, it's a hot mess, things are falling off as you unwrap your sandwich and bite into it. We ate in our car, nothing fell out, it wasn't messy, and I felt like I got my monies worth as there was a ton of protein in it. It was so good, that I forgot to take pictures (I could've swore I took one). I'd highly recommend this location to anyone in the area looking for a bite to eat.

I honestly couldn't find one in the areas that we were in and on our way back home we ended up in Bedford and just happened upon a playground location. He was excited and I was relieved. Finding a playground location for a fast food restaurant anymore is like finding a unicorn. When we entered my nephew had a one track mind, playground. But I made sure he knew that we were there to eat and we had to order first. We went through the motions of ordering and waited for our order to be ready. I swear I never seen this kid hightail it through the drink station in hopes to down his food so he could hit the playground. Of course we had to sit in the playground area. I had to have him focus on the food and once he ate some, I set him free to bounce around the playground. I don't know kids do this, but they are able to make instant friends and can play for hours. I let him go for a hot minute and all the kids in there seem to end their playtime at the same time. He came back over, finished his food, and was ready to go. The food was standard. The staff were very customer service focused. The place was clean, and it was busy.
