This store has quality merchandise from Italy. You can find interesting jams, toppings, spreads, pasta, olive oils and chocolates. There is also beautiful pottery. The stores offers classes taught by the artist who makes the pieces. There are also cheeses, meats, beverages (teas, water) and other food items. It reminds me of Dean and Delucca. Bedford is a charming town. Most of the merchants have glass windows with creative displays. If you visit during the holidays, everyone has cute holiday decorations. Parking is simple and free.

I have to be honest - this wasn't for me. Came here for my birthday dinner - and I am quite a big fan of Italian. Maybe not the same type offered here. First - there's no liquor - it's BYOB. Which isn't fun when I like having a mixed drink before dinner. Second - there are no soft drinks. So, no liquor license, no soda. Man that's rough. There's a pre-determined menu - which I don't know I guess I understand, but when either of the options doesn't have red gravy and standard Italian fare - I don't know. Biggest issue I had was we spent 3 hours here - with the deliberate plating and spacing of the courses. It wouldn't have been so bad if the portions were bigger. Charcuterie board was good - I liked the salad and the different cheeses. The first course was a pasta but the the portions were very small - found myself getting more and more hungry. The main course I chose was the beef and mixed salad greens. Taste was good but again I found myself even more hungry afterwards. The dessert was an orange cake - would have been nice to have another option. I don't know - just not for me. Place is nice, staff and owners are nice but this was a very exhausting experience. Set aside 3 hours. And eat before you go.

Located in the old town drugstore, this is a very attractive small restaurant with a very good menu. There are two types of homemade soup daily and also a lot of paninis, power bowls, etc. It's a great place for a gourmet-type lunch. There's a good bit of seating inside. There are two small tables on the sidewalk outside which can be used also.

Low key and delicious, this was a perfect stop on our journey east. We lunched n panini's. The Northern Italian, with walnut paste was first rate. Visit the shop nest door for ingredients imported from Italy. Then another door down for an amazing desert treat!! Down the street we filled up at Dunkle's Gulf Station - Art Deco 1930's filling station. Love Bedford!!!

The food here was absolutely delicious! Definitely the best we had during our visit to this area hands down. For a tiny place, it had an extensive menu, which also catered very well to an array of food sensitivities. If you are looking for dairy free options, you cant beat this place. It was beautifully decorated, had fresh flowers on each table, and an interesting selection off food/home gifts for purchase. Would highly recommend for a perfect meal!

When I say this place is down right DELICIOUS! I am not kidding. Lifestyle is Bedford's little slice of Italy. Stefano and Davide are true artist it the kitchen. Can't recommend enough and our servers were all so great!

As soon as I saw this place, it seemed like the perfect mix of everything we love. Several of the businesses in downtown Bedford are closed on Sunday so I was thrilled to see this spot stayed open late, especially for a small town. I came here with my partner and two kids. They were super kid friendly and were so kind to us during our stay. My partner and I got wine, and loved there was a happy hour special which I didn't even realize when ordering. The owner was very friendly and let us try several wines before committing, which I always appreciate. We lived in California for over 15 years, recently making our way back to the east coast. I could tell the selection was really thought through. And was excited to see that they carried a bottle from one of my favorite vineyards in the much overlooked Paso Robles wine region of southern California. The space is very comfy inside with plenty of seating options including plush chairs and couches as well as traditional table seating. We grabbed a spot on the couch and had the best time playing the many games they offer to visitors. My kids were hungry and devoured the cheese and charcuterie plate. They also were very amused by putting together a giant puzzle as well as getting a tour of the on-site art studio where an artist was working during our visit. This was truly a highlight of our time in Bedford. We hope that we can get back again soon to experience it again.

It's been an adventure watching downtown Bedford grow as a culinary community. Once upon a time, not even all that long ago, the idea of finding a great bottle of wine from a well curated selection would have been unheard of. Yet, that is what awaits at Composition. Even better... every bottle that is on the shelf is available to taste! The secret is their wine tap set up, which can pull samples from bottles and replace the volume with inert gas. Which also means Composition has a killer wine-by-the-glass program. Bravo! I was able to pick up a bottle of Seghesio Zinfandel. Just know that the selection isn't huge. But there will be folks who can help you find something you love. It's not a place to go in looking for something specific, but rather to go in with some ideas and be open to the possibilities. Next time, I would love to stay for a glass in their cozy and homey tasting room, and try some of the cheeses and meats they have on offer. They have imported comte, and will happily send you off with a quarter pound of sliced bresaola... in Bedford! What I love is that Bedford is no longer a one horse town with the Italian import store across the street. It's marvelous to see more options for folks to expand their culinary horizons. Outside of Bedford, Composition may be closer to a 4* wine bar, but they are getting a bonus point for bravely opening in a place that isn't exactly a wine town, and bringing some big love to the block.
