Two older Latina employees were extremely disrespectful, dismissive, and unnecessarily hostile. The facial expressions, hand gestures, slick comments, ignoring requests, and overall attitude were unbelievable. At one point, my order was slammed down in a way that made me feel like they were disgusted to even serve me. If you do not want to serve someone, then say that. Do not purposely antagonize, humiliate, or treat a paying customer as though asking for the food they purchased is an inconvenience. What made the situation even worse was what happened when I asked to speak with a manager. The employees pointed me toward him, and instead of taking my concerns seriously or even asking what happened, he was also dismissive and said "there is another manager in the back". That left me feeling as though this behavior was known about and simply tolerated. I have lived near this location for six years and have never had an issue like this before. My concern is specifically with the treatment I experienced from these employees today and the last time they served me. For today I cannot walk away because no customer should tolerate this behavior. I cannot speak to what was in anyone's mind, but as a Black/Somali customer, the hostility and disgust directed toward me made me seriously question whether race or ethnicity played a role in how I was treated. No customer should be yelled at, ignored, antagonized, or have their food slammed down simply because they asked for what they were paying for. You are serving human beings. Every customer deserves basic dignity and respect, regardless of their race, ethnicity, or background. Management needs to address this behavior because customers should never leave a restaurant feeling humiliated or disgusted by the way staff treated them.
