    Italian sub
    Kathryn V.

This is by far my favorite Firehouse in the twin cities. However, the past two times we have received carry out, it has been subpar. So much mayo and dressing it's soggy. This time I requested, light mayo and dressing, but still so soggy. See the photo for the bottom of my sandwich. Gross! I also had to retoast my sub as the toasting was minimal at best. Please don't slack on your quality!

    Tiny for the price.

I thought I would try this place. Subs selection is limited as many have virgina ham and smoked turkey. What about regular ham and turkey. Went with the NY Steamer. What a joke. Way overpriced for the medium. The sun is tiny. The meat was gross and the sauce tastes like cheap oil based. Look at my photo. Looks like I ordered a side of meat with my roll.

I tried these subs for the first time ever and they are good and pricey. I took hook and ladder in a box and a sandwich too. It was good but needed something to kick the taste buds. I felt the sandwich was flat and dint excite me much. But the chicken Cajun was so delicious and good. It had right spice and taste to it. The place was neat and clean and the service was quick.

Staff is nice, store is fairly new. Food is not too bad for this chain. Pretty typical experience for this sandwich shop.

Wait was a little long but the sandwich is so worth it. We love the Turkey Bacon Ranch and the Steak and Cheese!

They slice the meat and cheese right there and you can fully customize your sandwich, which I love. The service was phenomenal. Super friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. Cute shop and they also have a great selection of Italian products in the shop, plus their own ready-made items like homemade frozen pizzas and take-and-bake entrees, which is such a nice bonus. It's takeout only, but they make it easy with online ordering. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and portion size. This place is truly a hidden gem.

I thoroughly enjoyed this Italian market/deli/pizza/pasta. No energy or inspiration to cook dinner?…read moreThis is the answer! While it's got zero space for sit down dining, they are on top of their takeout game. The staff were efficient and filled orders quickly. I found the prices fair, and I look forward to a return visit to try out some other items. I really enjoyed the soup and see they post a new daily soup/pasta item to Facebook. What we tried: - Italiano sub 3/5 (bread was harder/crustier than I would have liked & sub was so wide it was hard to fit your mouth around it) - Chicago roast beef sub 4/5 (hefty amount of beef) - Daily soup (5/5) chicken vegetable (really great flavor and wide assortment of veg with huge chicken chunks) - Carrot cake (5/5) - Tiramisu (5/5).

I didn't see #12 on there (which my husband had specifically requested I pick up), so I inquired and was informed it was a secret item! I don't know if that's true or not, but the guy fixing the sandwiches seemed to know exactly what to do to make it anyhow. My hubbie didn't want tomato (crazy!) and I remarked I'd happily take his. Guess what? The employee did just that. He put no tomato on my husband's sandwich and extra tomato on my sandwich! Now that's excellent customer service. Sure made me happy; it was an excellent tasting sandwich! Beyond that, the place was really well staffed, clean, and the employees all seemed to be chipper and in a good mood. Dennis, who helped fix my sandwiches, was conversational and either has a genuine enthusiasm for sandwiches or is faking it so convincingly you'll never know the difference, lol. I appreciated my interactions with him. Definitely felt like he was going above and beyond to encourage my repeat business (could it be the Jimmy John's practically next door?). I anticipate I'll be making lots of trips to this location since I live so close by.

This last time we went, long haired guy paused making my spouse's sandwich to fix the receipt tape. Kept his gloves on, then went back to touching my spouse's sandwich with the now nasty gloves still on. I spoke up and asked him to change gloves. Everyone stopped talking and you would have thought I killed someone with how annoyed he was. Did he remake the sandwich? No. Of course not! Gross af, dude. Might as well have picked your nose and wiped it on there, too. Guess I'll go to Jimmy John's instead.
