If it were possible to give negative stars, I would. 5 phone calls over 5 months waiting on a refund. With the continuous excuse of 6-8wks processing time. After being charged 830 dollars a few days ago at 6.50 a gallon for propane (twice the state average for propane, mind you), I've spent over 2 hours trying to get ahold of someone on the phone. However, every time I've called I've been on hold for over an hour and hung up on. Twice. I'm truly sick of Suburbans price gouging and incompetence. I am pissed at this company. I paid for a delivery on Wednesday 01/19/22. I was at 5% left on my tank when the order was placed. By Friday 01/21/22, the delivery still hadnt taken place. They were calling for a snow storm that night and I knew we would be in for a cold night if the delivery didnt happen that. I called in to Suburban Propane Charlotte office at 12:44pm and spoke with someone named "Kammy" (she emphasized that it was a K and not a C) and she helpful. I explained my situation and told her I have two small kids that depend on this propane for our heating as well as hot water. She said "my operations manager, Scott, is out on lunch but let me see what he says when he returns". Fast forward about 20 minutes later she returned my call. She said "I spoke with Scott and he said he will make sure you receive your delivery by the end of the day today (Friday 01-21-22). I was feeling happy. This delivery never happened. We ran out of fuel over night on Friday. Me and my 2 small children woke up to a house that was 54 degrees inside and no hot water. Throughout the day on Saturday 01-22-22 I called in to their call center since the local office is closed on weekends. Again, the various ladies I spoke with made promises that never happened. I was again told the delivery would happen before the end of the day. Today is Sunday 01-23-22 at 11:22am and the delivery still hasnt happened. We cannot take showers or get warm. I dont know who to contact because it is the weekend and all phones go to voicemail. After I get my situation taken care of, I will be looking in to finding another propane tank and delivery service for my home because Suburban Propane are NOTHING BUT LIERS AND DONT GIVE A S*** ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS. *See attached photos that show my call log and account so you can verify my authenticity of what I am posting* I am pissed at this company. I too had bad experience with Suburban...I too had a 500 gal buried tank. They were charging me over a 1.00 more a gallon than their competitors. I went to Blossman..they offered to buy the tank from Suburban...but they refused...they they offered them a new tank in exchange for the 23 yr old tank...again they refused. Forcing me to have my yard dug up to remove their tank and replace it with a Blossman. But I did get a new tank. I will never deal with Suburban again. read more

Suburban is one of the highest priced gas companies around, and they have the worst customer service. I wish the builder would not have allowed them to bury their tank in our yard. Once you have their tank, you are stuck using them. They charge you to house it or, they charge you to dig it up. Either way is a win for Suburban (not you). If you keep it, you are forced to use them, as other companies will not fill the tank. They were supposed to come out on Monday. When they still had not arrived on Friday, I called. After being transferred (stalled- for at least 30 min) and told that the local office could not be reached, they informed me that I would have to pay an after hours fee because it was now after 5:00. Do yourself a favor, go with any company other than Suburban! Update: When they did finally come out and fill the tank, they charged me $4.59 per gallon.
