I found a crack in a roof drain pipe near the main sewer outlet to the street. Sealed the likely entrance, built trap boxes ( YouTube... ) and used various baits. Rats are extremely smart and fast. He'd get the food but not caught. After a a few weeks I gave in and searched for an exterinator. The reviews about Joe prompted me to get in touch. The reviews describe him perfectly ! He came the next day. We spent almost 2 hours going around the house inspecting for evidence of entry points, nests, activity as well as getting to know each other. He is truly a nice guy who knows his craft ! Joe seemed impressed by my approach. Thought, based on what he saw, that there might only be the one and didn't see any obvious additional enrty points. He suggested a few new baits and traps and we decided to stay in touch before moving to poison. He refused payment for his time and advice. He promptly replied to my status texts over the next few days. Nobody caught, no success... until I got him ! Sent Joe pictures. Recieved a congratulations reply ! Now going to keep monitoring for a few weeks, traps set. Maybe my problem is solved. Fingers crossed my visitor didn't have friends and family. I'll keep Joe posted knowing that if nesessary I can confidently reach out for his help. Thank you so much Joseph ! PS - Don't know why Yelp thinks I'm in San Francisco. I'm in Brooklyn !

I agreed to a rodent exclusion service that cost $1,543. Based on the price and the way the service was presented, I believed this would be a thorough and extensive job performed by specialists. Instead, an elderly technician arrived with what looked like a Home Depot bucket, a tube of silicone, and a small amount of steel wool. He spent about one hour at my home and covered approximately seven small areas. I was shocked by the lack of work performed compared to the price charged. The service was also marketed as a year-long service agreement where they would return if needed to inspect the sealed areas. I tried to move past my disappointment, but when the year expired on 4/4/26, Terminix automatically charged me another $274 for a renewal. While I may have been verbally informed about auto-renewal at signup, I never received a reminder email, text, phone call, or courtesy notice before being charged again. The most frustrating part has been trying to resolve this. We have called four separate times attempting to cancel the service and request a refund for a renewal on a service we never used. So far, we have gotten nowhere. I'll admit that during the last call I became frustrated and raised my voice at a representative who personally was not responsible for the situation, and I regret that. However, after being a loyal Terminix customer for over 20 years for annual service, it is extremely upsetting to feel ignored and taken advantage of by a company we trusted. Charging over $1,500 for what amounted to about an hour of minimal work, then continuing to bill for a service we neither used nor wanted renewed, feels completely unreasonable. At this point, we are simply asking Terminix to do the right thing.

My experience with Terminix was defined by misleading billing practices and a complete lack of…read moretransparency. After my initial contract ended, Terminix continued charging me without any notice that the service had rolled over. When I called to question the charges, they admitted I could have canceled without penalty, but only if I had called. In other words, they kept billing quietly and put the burden entirely on the customer to stop it. Instead of resolving the issue cleanly, they pushed me into a new termite-only plan, even though they confirmed my property had no termites. I canceled the original service on March 7, 2026 (charged $115.62) and was clearly told I would receive a refund of $88.62 within two weeks. That refund never came. When I followed up, I was told corporate reversed it because my billing cycle started two days earlier, something that was never disclosed when I made the change. Promising a refund and then clawing it back based on a technicality is not just poor service, it is deceptive. At that point, I tried to cancel altogether. Then came the final insult: a $275 cancellation fee for a brand-new service I had just been steered into by their own representatives. So to recap: continued billing without notice, a promised refund that was quietly denied, and a costly exit fee after being pushed into a new contract. This is not just bad customer service; it feels like a deliberate strategy to lock customers in and extract as much as possible. I strongly advise anyone considering Terminix to look elsewhere. There are more honest and transparent companies that do not rely on fine print and reversals to make money.
