Their technicians, are clueless and lie through their teeth and the managers swear by what they say. They destroyed our siding. Called Knockout Pest Control after Progressive Pest Control Bob, who was recommended by the realtor representing the buyer working for the buyer to inspect my home gave a report of "active termite activity" - the deal on my home fell thru. Sean from Knockout inspected my house. Saw no "activity" I then showed him where the other guy, Bob, wrote in his report where he saw the activity. Sean went back rechecked and again saw nothing. I would highly recommend Knockout Pest Control. They are very professional, honest not pressuring to sell the service. My report was ready in my email in 1hr. If I could give 0 stars I would. Called in the company for rodents in our house. Technicians came, inspected what we had already done. Made several comments that there isn't much else they can do. They used our traps that we purchased. Didn't use their own, except for bait boxes that they changed and astronomical amount a month to rent. You can easily purchase these items for a fraction of their monthly rental charge. Anytime we needed them to come, their availability was pitiful. Called 3 weeks in advance for a specific date were told they couldn't accommodate. Had to request traps to be dropped off, as they refused to put the trap where it needed to be. A manager was sent to our house, inspected the situation was upset with how the company was handling this manner. We were accused of being suspicious because we asked for additional traps, that their employees never put down. Overall experience with this company is terrible. This is also the only company I know that requires to be called for preventative treatment. Instead of coming on a monthly schedule, like ever other pest control company, the customer has to set a reminder to call them to do their job. Asked for a refund, as they did nothing but basically steal $600 from us. We were told no, despite then being unable to preform their end of the contract. Do not use this company. read more

Do not recommend. We paid $500 for an annual membership with Knockout Pest Control because we had sugar ants in our bathroom when we moved into our home. After FIVE visits in which the same thing was done each time- spraying and putting down gel- our ant issue only got WORSE. We specifically told the exterminators they sent to stop putting down gel and only spray. Not only did they still put down gel but even put globs of gel down on the window right next To our bed. Lovely to wake up to ants swarming inches from you. Our problem then escalated into having a mouse in our kitchen. The exterminator put down snap traps and bait traps. Still no results! We switched to another exterminator/company and have had WAY more success after just one visit. The new exterminator opened those bait traps Knockout Pest Control put down- he hadn't even put bait in them! They were empty. He also advised us to get a dehumidifier for our basement, which immediately got rid of spider issues. Used granular outside to get rid of the ants, something Knockout never did. I'm so angry we wasted so much time and money on this company that only made our issues worse, but I'm glad we found someone else to fix our rodent/ant issue. read more

Joe is a great guy and has a great personality. We asked him to come out and spray for red ants in front of the house and carpenter ants on our back deck. My wife also had him spray in the basement for other critters. Very affordable and knowledgeable, and 1/3 of the price of the big boys. We haven't seen a red or carpenter ant since he left, but he does guarantee his work and would come back if needed. read more

I had my annual sentricon termite service on 7/15/21. I have had this program for a number of years. The tech who did the service and interior inspection was Frank. Frank did very thorough check of the sentricon units and replacing the baits as needed. All the while he provided me with detailed explanation of what he was doing and why. He is very knowledgeable about the science of termite control. He was very helpful during the interior inspection with his pest control advice. In addition, he went above and beyond in helping me locate an entry point for pests that I had been unable to locate on my own. Definitely, a great asset to the company. read more

They came out to spray last year I noticed that there were some staining on my siding after they were here I had no clue that it was because of the chemicals that they used. I'm having some work done on redoing my kitchen so I had two windows removed and one window put in with his some brand new siding was put in along with it. They came out in April of this year sprayed again for wasps and I noticed almost like a bleaching affect on the new siding and an oily affect on the old siding. They came again in May when I called them and found a couple of nests to remove the nests and spray once again. I asked the technician that came out to spray what that was he told me it's just oily from the chemicals that they used and then it'll wash off I tried to wash it off and it will not come off. Try to explain this to the company had them come out the supervisor and the technician ganged up on me so I threw them out of my yard. Once again I called the company and I got another person on the phone who did nothing but argue with me mostly we finally got to the point where we got them to come out to the house and take a look at it he even admitted that one of the companies said it could be the coding that's on the siding that I reacted with but refuses to take responsibility for the damage that they did on my house. You could see from the pictures that I'm going to be posting with this what it did to the old siding and what it did to the new siding I don't recommend this company at all I think you should just stay away and find another one. They saw a can of wasp spray that I used on the shed because there was a nest in the shed. I could not get my lawn mower out without being attacked. This is the excuse they use for the damage there chemicals made! Don't trust this company. They resort to nastiness and lies not to be held responsible for the damage that their chemicals did.The contractor working on my kitchen who was watching out the window saw exactly what your guy did. Maybe you should think twice about making accusations about another companies chemicals. Especially when your guy admitted that the chemicals can have a reaction with the vinyl siding. Henry was nice enough to tell us all about what they told him and you're wrong it's your chemicals. Also the guy that came to the house on 5/27/2021 said yes there is an oily base to the chemicals. Paid $350 for bug spray. The roaches never stopped. After 4 and a half months I finally called because I couldn't take it anymore. I figured that they would apologize and offer to send one of their guys to spray the place again. NOPE. I was told that I paid for a treatment that should last between 14 to 30 days. This is outrageous. What extermination service offers you to be free from bugs for two weeks!? No other bug spray service I've used operated in this manner. When I wanted to have one of their guys come and spray the place again I was told I had to pay the entire amount again. If you want to pay a lot of money and still have roaches, definitely use these guys. Otherwise, use something else. read more

We have Knockout do an annual inspection of our house in Oceanside for nearly fifty years. They are always thorough and professional. A number of years ago, they discovered a termite infestation under the slab of the extension to our house. Did the treatment and there has been no further problem. I chose Knockout because of the great reviews. Spoke to someone, a man, told him my situation. I was moving into a roach infested apartment temporarily and was looking to get services. This man recommended the K12 service. Believe it was 450 for a year. I told him I would be moving out of the place soon and I just wanted this place to be a comfortable transition for me and my family. He promised as long as there were no than one kitchen it would be ok. I paid for the K12. Everything was good. They serviced the temporary apartment. They met my expectations and more. Skip to a few months later. I find two roaches creeping into my new apartment from the heating pipes (its an old building) and I call them to set an appointment. Why not get my moneys worth and have some preventive treatments done, right? A woman answered, don't remember names, I'm horrible with names. She looked up my account and was taking the new address down and then informed me that I would have to pay extra. I specifically asked if I would need to pay extra for moving. If i would've known that there would be hidden fees I wouldn't have taken the K12. It was dishonest to assure me that the transition from one place to another would be smooth and I wouldn't have to pay extra as long as there weren't more than one kitchen. I expressed this but the operator was of no help. I'm disappointed and feel conned out of 450. I didn't need a years worth of services at the time and didn't want this to be an ongoing bill but the deal seemed too good to pass up. One lump sum of $450 and that's it. They will tell you they just happen to be in the area - on the day you just happened to request for a visit - implying there is no inconvenience to them for a casual quickie estimate. Of course, they won't tell you there will be a charge for their visit! Then suddenly, and without warning, if you choose not to accept their proposed service contract - you will be billed a $175 consultation fee..... SURPRISE! However, later they will offer you credit for the consultation fee if you accept their proposed service contract. This behavior has all the elements of "hidden fees", "dishonesty" .....And as reviewer Robert R describes it - a "SCAM". Please Note: Under UCC guidelines (Uniform Commercial Code) - a contract or agreement is void if the buyer receives no consideration (i.e., compensatory service) from the vendor. In our case, the contractor quickly tried to spray some insects on our premises in order to show he provided a service. We stopped him instantly - knowing what he was up to. WARNING - Do Not Pay a consultation fee unless you have expressly agreed to this charge. But be careful - a Knockout employee informed us that they record their phone calls. D. QUOTE PROMISES NOT KEPT: The company would not honor the first service quote ($350) over a second higher quote ($525) given to us subsequently. Be careful with their quotes as they appear subjective, and not standardized. In addition, their service providers appear inexperienced compared with their competition (i.e., very young). E. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE When we set up an appointment for a consultation - we were given a broad arrival time horizon - thereby tying up our afternoon in "anticipation" that their contractor would eventually show. However, the contractor never "showed" - and the office neglected to warn us of such, or reach out for a reschedule. Upon follow up by us - the office operator blamed the "no show" on their office software. Note: In the past - contractors used to blame "no shows" on their trucks breaking down - now it's the software! (LOL) F) FOLLOW-UP & RECOMMENDATiONS Our reviews are designed to provide feedback to management so that opportunities for corrective measures may be realized. As a result, we recommend that employee training programs be reviewed and practices of retaliating against customer feedback be avoided. If I could give zero stars, I would. I have never had a worse or more traumatizing experience. We entered into a very expensive ($1600 plus) contract with Knockout to eliminate a rodent. There was supposed to be a 4 month guaranty which included a full inspection to determine the entry path, closure of any openings and trapping (including bait stations if needed); the work was not properly done and the technician was extremely unprofessional. Immediately after the initial $1600 payment, an additonal $600 was demanded to close a supposed entry under our deck (we had already had that area worked on previously so this was very surprising). We complained to Knockout and were still required to pay an additional $300 but were supposed to have a "guaranty" that was extended thru June 2021. We continued trusting Knockout but our problem continued. We had to deal with this dangerous situation for 6 months and all the techician (Ramon Martinez --- who was touted by Knockout as their "expert" trapper) did was use the same cheap ineffective snap traps with peanut butter and check the traps ocassionally for less than 5 minutes. This I have now learned is not the way to address this type of situation. He told us to be patient and gave us assurance that he would resolve the situation no matter how long it would take. At the end of June, Knockout came in and aggressively removed the snap traps saying that they couldn't complete the job and "quit". My husband and I started doing our own investigation and we discovered possible entries that were never identified by Knockout. We ended up having to hire Arrow, who immediately analyzed the problem by finding the entry point in our attic; Knockout completely overlooked a trail that was apparently obvious to Arrow. Arrow recommended trimming a tree to help eliminate possible access. They used cameras to assist in identifying the entry. It is a night and day in terms of expertise and professionalism. We tried to complain to Knockout and seek a refund for the improper work and failure to live up to the guaranty. We were taken for a long and expensive "ride" and our reliance on what was poor, improper service has exposed our home and family to risk/damage. Initially when I called, nobody would even put my call thru to the owner. They told me that I could research that!!! Both my husband and I have since spoken to Arthur Katz/Owner. He was not sympathetic, denied any obligation to provide a refund for services not performed and improperly performed and basically told us that he felt justified in taking our money; blaming the situation on us by stating that we should have complained more!!!!! He also ignored the "guaranty" and stated that his obigation ended when we paid. I cannot express how totally disappointed we are in our experience; this is not how customers should be treated. THIS IS RESPONSE TO ARTHUR K. --- I THINK IT IS YOU THAT IS TWISTING THE FACTS; THE SECOND "GUARANTY" WAS AN EXTENSION OF YOUR SERVICE RESPONSIBILITY WHICH WAS NOT LIVED UP TO IN ANY RESPECT. YOUR RESPONSE EVIDENCES A TOTAL LACK OF CONCERN OVER THE QUALITY OF SERVICE AND TREATMENT OF A CUSTOMER AS WELL AS THE OVERCHARGING OF CUSTOMERS. I so appreciated having a human being answer the phone and not a recording asking me to leave a message for a call back! The man who answered spoke clearly and explained the choices and services. An appointment was made for the following day. I was especially pleased when the driver called in advance so the dogs could be placed outside avoiding the drama of his arrival. Fantastic customer service. Easy to work with and to schedule an appointment, and very responsive when there is an urgent matter. I have a yearly contract with them which has come in handy over the years. When they do service inside the house, they cover their shoes with plastic so your home is protected. I have had Knockout's Sentricon system for a long time and have been very happy with their service and payment plans. Today I called to get quotes for a different service. I found the quotes fair, but I was not entirely satisfied that in speaking to Yvonne, she was not able to accommodate a particular payment plan I asked for for one of the proposed services I was asking about. Imagine my pleasure and surprise to have just received an unexpected phone call from Yvonne. She took it upon herself to take my expressed dissatisfaction to someone in decision-making authority, and she was calling back to let me know that if I wanted that service, they would accommodate my payment plan request, even though I know that is not how that service is typically billed. CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ITS FINEST!!!!
