Rainy day and trying to find something to do with the kiddos. Easy to make online reservations. Glow in the dark putt starts at 7pm - $19/person. Arrive just a little earlier and it's $17/person. There are snacks and drinks available for purchase. Love the SF landmarks. We had fun. Took us about an hour to get through the 18 holes.

Neat little spot in Ghirardelli square. Surprisingly not too packed on a Sunday afternoon, but still good crowd. Cool San Francisco theming on each hole.

A super cute date night spot that should be talked about more. It's a small course but the architecture is all based on San Francisco icons. It can definitely be a little hard to focus on playing the game because everything is so aesthetically pleasing that you want a picture or video of everything. Not only is there mini golf but there is also a boba shop that isn't half bad. Staff is also super friendly when explaining the rules and pricing. An extra bonus is that it's in the middle of ghiradelli square so there's plenty of things to do before or after your round of mini golf.

We had a team building event at Subpar Miniature Golf in Ghirardelli Square and we all had a blast. Everything about this place seemed to go perfectly. We had a room set up for our event, but everyone was playing mini golf, laughing and screaming at the great fun. There was a mini bar area set up, which had a pretty good draft beer selection. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and sharable plates that everyone seemed to enjoy. The view from the private room was incredible, welcome to SF and our postcard views. Service was attentive and everyone was really nice and accommodating. And last but certainly not the least impressive thing was the SF city landmarks and buildings as each hole design - It's so cool. I highly recommend Subpar Mini Golf, especially on a cold and rainy day like today in SF. Have some fun!

So fun! Great views. We came to Subpar after a layover in San Francisco and wanted to check out Alcatraz and Fisherman's Wharf; we didn't have enough time to explore everything but we were able to see everything from the windows of Subpar located in Ghirardelli square which has great restaurants, breweries, and Ghirardelli store. You can book online. We had chicken nuggets and a beer and it was great! Service was great very busy though they favor customers that book slot online, then walk ins are allowed but only if the holes are moving.

If you're in San Francisco and planning to visit Ghirardelli Square, set aside an extra 45 minutes to check out this mini golf spot--it's such a fun experience! My boyfriend and I haven't done the classic mini-golf date, so I really wanted to come here when I saw a TikTok video of it. For under $50 we played all 18 mini holes AND we each enjoyed a beer. The course itself isn't anything extravagant, but the experience was so cute, fun, and totally worth it. Highly recommend for a fun break in the middle of sightseeing!

Although the holes weren't the most innovative or extravagantly designed, the $14 price tag was extremely reasonable for the 1.5 hour fun my party had. A reservation was required and my time slot unfortunately didn't qualify for the glow in the dark option. There were complementary lockers near the entrance. Upon checking in, we were able to purchase boba, beer and fried appetizers. Strangely we didn't receive a receipt so we awkwardly stood near the boba stand until we saw something that resembled our order. Each hole had a cup holder and stand for the beverages and food. Each hole included a recreation of a famous SF attraction. Some paths were creative but I wished more of the routes weren't so straight forward and similar to each other. We were still playing when they shifted to the glow in the dark format. While the neon lights and music created a fun ambiance, it was difficult to play with the standard golf set up. Players with darker golf balls had difficulty tracking their ball as a result. I hope Subpar will revamp their courses and introduce more glow in the dark elements in the future. Besides the occasionally colorful light, it would be cooler to outline the attraction with glow in the dark paint. Although not perfect, Subpar was appropriately priced and my party left content.

This place is located inside Ghirardelli Square and I've been meaning to check out it out for some time. Definitely worth checking out at least once. 18-hole miniature golf place highlighting iconic landmarks in SF. And for only $14! Reservations recommended, but we got lucky and were able to snag a reservation. They also serve food, beer, wine, and some non-alcoholic refreshments, including boba! I think my only safety concern was that there should be some protective barrier at the end of the Sutro Tower course. One other group and ours ended up with the ball flying off course and into the walkway area. Aside from that, we had a lot of fun and what a great way to go sightseeing in miniature golf form!

This was my second visit, and I returned because I had such a great experience back in 2021. The location is fantastic--right in Ghirardelli Square with beautiful views of the ocean and Alcatraz. There's both indoor and outdoor seating, which adds to the appeal. Each mini golf hole is well-designed with seating, stands for drinks, and space to write on your scorecard, making the experience really convenient. What really stands out is that each course showcases different SF landmarks. The pricing is also reasonable at $14 per person (for all ages), which is a great deal compared to many other mini golf spots. For two people, $28 for 18 holes was worth it. Some of the courses were challenging, while others felt a bit too easy, with straightforward shots. They also offer a range of drinks, including boba and alcoholic beverages . Last time, I tried their boba, which was just okay. This time, I opted for the Fog City Hazy IPA, and I was pleasantly surprised. I'm not usually an IPA fan because of the bitterness, but this one was lighter and more enjoyable--one of the best IPAs I've had. I've seen some reviews mention service issues, but I've had nothing but positive interactions. The staff has always been friendly and welcoming. We came on a weekday around 2:30 p.m., and it wasn't busy at all, so there was no need to book ahead or make reservations. I loved seeing the local attractions reflected in the mini golf courses. It's a fun experience with great photo opportunities!

Eli and the rest of the staff at SubPar were awesome, and the venue is full of incredible sculptures. This place is part art exhibit , part SF city tour, and part golf entertainment. Kudos to the folks that built this place. Perfect spot to start or end a weekend getaway or family vacation to the beautiful city of San Francisco

Nice spot for mini golf in Ghirardelli Square. The setup gives you a basic tour of SF as your play through the well known spots of SF.

no, its a pretty big place...maybe for a party

    Is there a bar?

    No a bar.

What choices are there for parking?

Street parking (4 hours free at the end of Beach street, or at the end of Van Ness Ave), or paid parking meters on nearby streets, or a paid parking garage under Ghirardelli Square (entrance on Beach Street, no tall vehicles)

    How many holes are there?

    There are 18 holes.

I was expecting it to be more expensive given it's in Ghirardelli Square but one round is 14 bucks a person.

They also seem to fall in love with all my friends who visit from out of town, and one of them has a crush on my mom and keeps asking when she's coming back. The liquor is overpriced but you can't beat the convenience of this kind of store literally 1 minute from your front door. They also carry Kinder Bueno, Kinder Eggs, and those awesome Kinder sticks of chocolate with the creepy smiling Swedish looking kid. They have a scary big selection of Clif bars too. And all kinds of mini bottles. Tons of drunk snacks. I love this store. I love it's comforting yellow awning, whenever I go underneath it I know I'm going to exit with snacks and liquor and it's going to be the start of a good night out or the end of one. Oh, and they also had Coke Blak for a very long time after it was discontinued, which might be why I didn't know it was discontinued. Sniff sob.
