This is a tremendous little spot for subs! Run by a little Italian lady and her son, they put their heart and soul into the food. Very impressed with the food and service these new owners provide. With the weather getting nice out now, definitely worth the stop. I will be back! read more

This sub shop is a small yellow building on the main road in Menands. They have Great subs, great rolls. We had the special, an Italian sub, a ham and Swiss sub and a cheese sub. They were all delicious and yummy. Fresh, quality ingredients for reasonable Prices. There is ample parking on both sides of the building. I knew this place wasn't gonna last after the new owner bought or whatever. Every time I went in there, and I also this heard from other people, that the place smelled like patchouli oil And the people working there had no teeth, blasting rap music. Place smelled like weed galore! The place was disgusting, the bread was completely different, and they did not give you as much meat as the owner for 35 years would have. The place was disgusting, junk cars out into the parking lot, garbage everywhere, I could go on and on and so can everybody else! This place went way down hill. It must have undergone new management. All the staff changed, none are very good or friendly. Around the same time, all of their prices went up. You can't have bad customer service and higher prices at the same time. My entire office, we are located about 1.5 miles from submaker, feel the same way. No one will be returning. read more

Never in my life did I think you'd have to request that a BLT and a tuna melt be toasted but lo and behold this has happened more than once here. Then, to have it not be toasted after you request it? Also, to be asked whether you want lettuce tomato or onion on your BLT and to not get tomato unless you specifically tell them to put it on? C'mon. Great local sub spot. Great prices and good customer service. It's hot as Jupiter inside the restaurant though. I feel bad for the girls working in there. It's so freaking hot. They really need to install a better a/c unit. They have an ancient one on the wall and a super old ghetto fan circulating hot air. Apart from that it's a great spot for subs. read more

I passed this place so many times on my way to and from work and never stopped in until recently. I never thought it looked to great from the outside (the tiny building is a very bright yellow and is, shall we say, charming) and for some reason I always thought it was part of a car repair shop (what can I say - I don't pay close enough attention). Thank god I was wrong about that because they have AWESOME subs! The bread is what makes them so amazing. It's fresh and, for lack of a better way to describe it, it's not too bread-y. Don't expect to get a mouthful of spongy, chewy Subway-like bread at this place. Their rolls are flatter than most sub rolls and thinner, not to mention soft and delicious, and because of that you get a mouthful of tasty meat and veggies and dressing instead of a mouthful of roll. You can actually TASTE what you ordered! Imagine that! They also have side salads like tuna and potato salad. I wasn't a huge fan of their tuna salad as it was a little sweet for my tastes, but my boyfriend loved it. They also have a wide assortment of potato chips and canned sodas. A few things you should know: 1) They are closed from sometime at the end of the year to April. Not sure why, but they are sorely missed during the interim. 2) They have daily specials, usually a $4.99 footlong. 3) Don't expect to sit down and eat your food there unless it's a nice day and you don't mind sitting on picnic tables outside. They have a couple booths inside, but it's pretty cramped and they're usually taken anyway. 4) You better know what you want to order when you go up to the counter, because the ladies behind the counter have some amazing sass and will not wait around for you! read more

Once again, I was in a meeting allllllllllll day so by the time I got dinner, I had my inner fat boy come rushing out so I ate before I got pics but I have been wondering how good the sandwiches were and they did not disappoint. Such a cute little sub shop - the funky yellow building is hard to miss. It's tiny - only two small booths inside and a picnic table or two outside. Efficient service and very fresh subs. The ham and turkey with chipotle mayo is a personal favorite, but everything I've tried has been delicious. My only reason for deducting a star is that they do skimp just a bit on the meat, though the freshness and the quality of the bread almost makes up for that. read more
