The sales process was very pleasant and easy. Subaru helpt with the negotiations of a 2017 Crosstrek (miles 68,000). After 5-6 months however it turned out there were two major safety issues with the car and Subaru did not assist or get back to me. Even though the car was secondhand, I did expect it to be fully serviced, and if there were any issues they should have been discussed. The two issues: front low arm bushing needed to be replaced immediately. Car was unsafe to drive. Cost $850. Rust around the brakes another big repair $800. I did not expect these repairs in my first year owning this car. What made me most upset was that Subaru ignored my emails. Because of this, I cannot recommend this Subaru dealer. read more

I just left the service department a little while ago. The reason I was there was to replace a tire. I was there two weeks ago and was told by Tom, the tire wasn't in stock. Tom reached out to me last week and said it was in stock and would only take 45 min to replace. So I made an appointment for today at 7:45 am so I could come and still make it to work by 9. When I dropped the car off I was greeted by Luis. I had explained I was there a couple weeks ago and needed a new tire. I said the tire with the flat was in the trunk and spare is on the front left. He said ok and off the car went. Fast forward an hour and I get a text and email from Luis saying there's recommended services that need my approval. The service recommended was to replace the tire that I was there to replace. Luis then came up to me and said they needed my approval to replace the tire. I said the approval should be the appointment I made to replace the tire. He said if I give the approval they can start. I said it took an hour for you guys to figure out that I needed the tire that I was there to replace in the first place? He said yea. I said I'm going to be late for work at this point. Please go get my car so I can leave. It then took another 15 min for them to retrieve my car to leave. I'm not sure where the disconnect is, but this is the second time I've had issues here this year. This process should not be so hard or take the time that it does. read more

CREDIT CARD USER BEWARE Went in for a key fob battery replacement. Parts Dept. guy was prompt and responsive UNTIL I handed him my credit card. I didn't notice until the next day I was charged 3% to use my credit card. Called the Parts Department Manager to ask where it was posted; he told me NYS does not allow signs (really?!) any longer, but the gentleman was supposed to inform me...which he did not. He did offer to reverse charge if I came in, which I am debating. read more

I really appreciated how any updates were communicated to me, the detailed information I received, and how quickly the shop was able to diagnose and/or fix my car. Took a 2021 Crosstrek in for 48000 mile maintenance and was impressed from the moment I stepped out of my car. My husband and I were taken care of immediately and all services that were to be performed were explained. Devin Murray was incredibly helpful and thorough, and constantly checked in throughout the time we waited for the work to be completed. The waiting room was very comfortable and spacious, with coffee, water and snacks. Clean bathrooms and comfortable chairs. The complimentary car wash was also so appreciated. Twice I took my car in for service they charged me and the repair was not done just yesterday I paid $1360 when I left the same issue happened and they would not give me a loaner car because I do not have a credit card now I've brought my cars here since 2015 I will never purchase a Subaru again. I don't write many reviews. And I take reviews with a grain of salt. This is what had me ignore the terrible reviews on this page. Nick told me that my transmission needed to be replaced after I joked that I don't know anything about cars. He put together a list of over $8,000 of repairs that he told me that I needed. My car isn't worth that. He must get a commission from the dealership if he gets someone to buy a new car from there because he acted like he was doing me a favor by referring me to his guy, Hector. I took it to another shop, and it was a belt that cost $200. I've heard good things about Rye Subaru. Go there. I am going to reach out to the Subaru corporation because they need to know what is happening under their name. If your company is supposed to be about Love, this is not that. read more

I understand that some people have had issues getting their car fixed, but in the last year and a half that I've been a customer, I have received excellent service. I have been to this service center three times: for a dead car battery, a flat tire, and a broken skid plate. Each time, the customer service reps have been super straightforward and helpful. The waiting room has a nice coffee machine, a water dispenser, restrooms, and some snacks. Shoutout to Devin especially! He's super professional and really takes his job seriously. TLDR; book an appointment online + be willing to be patient, and you shouldn't have too much trouble. For reference: I came in most recently on a Monday morning for the skid plate issue. They told me they would remove the broken one and the new part would be ready for installation by the next day (took about 1.5 hours). What is the point of allowing people to book appointments online if your business doesn't intend to honor them? I showed up (early) for a 9:30 appointment for routine oil change and tire rotation. Was told it would take 1.5-2 hours. Ok, a bit long, but fine, the waiting area is nice. After 2 hours, I ask how much longer it would be? Turns out they hadn't even started on my car yet, and they told me it would be another 1.5-2 hours. I told them no way, took my car back, and will never be back here. Hoping this reaches out to others before they make a near colossal mistake like I did due to their practices. We brought in our 2018 Subaru forester within the past month for usual servicing. We were told that 2 of our brakes was at the point they needed immediate changing and 1 brake was nearly there. In addition, we were told our rotors needed to be REPLACED (not resurfaced - which is far cheaper). We were quoted approximately $850 for the job. I declined as I found this to be ludicrous given it's a relatively new car. We took our car to another dealership and here was the outcome of our brakes and rotors - PERFECTLY FINE. They said our rotors were perfect and had zero vibration as one would expect if they were going out. This other dealership is 30 minutes away from my residence, but they saved me from being ripped off $850. Please please please get a second opinion to anything this place recommends because it is borderline fraudulent here. read more

The waiting area is above average, the prices are reasonable, and the actual service is pretty good. In other words, they do a decent job of making you feel less terrible about spending money on your broken car. The waiting area has lots of seating with comfy chairs, free WiFi and plenty of outlets, coffee and bottled water, and a quiet room. They also will get you an Uber so you don't have to wait. The price on our tire change was surprisingly competitive, and for a specific model tire on a new vehicle we found that their prices compared well with discount shops. Like other shops, you may schedule a wait-on appointment at your peril. Indeed, their conception of a quick repair makes sense only to mechanics and French historians studying the longue duree. So when we went in for a tire change, it took 2 hours. Again, they offered and Uber at the beginning, and when I made my displeasure known about 90 minutes in, they offered me a loaner. So between a long wait and effortful, caring service, the account balances. I'd also point out to other Subaru drivers that their appointment availability is generally much better than their northern neighbors at Curry in Mohegan Lake. read more

Customer service is terrible, and prices are sky high. I brought my Crosstrek in for routine maintenance at the time of my scheduled appointment. Waited around for approx. 10 minutes until someone was able to help me. They told me my car would be done by the end of the day. An hour or so before their closing time, I called several times to check if it was done and no one answered. After showing up in person, they told me it was not done and to come back the next morning. Less than a week after this, a terrible rattling noise started. Take your business elsewhere. read more

Sky-high prices for so-so work. While there's a well-established "dealership shop" premium for repairs, Westchester Subaru takes this to a whole new level and doubles or maybe triples charges compared to repairs offered elsewhere. Unfortunately, sometimes you're stuck with the dealer shop. For instance, brought the Legacy in for a Takata airbag recall repair, and agreed to have other needed work taken care of including a tune-up, spark plugs, and replacement of a corroded oil pan. While explicitly stated repairs were completed thoroughly, prices were outrageous - $2,600 total (airbag repair was free) indicates a thousand bucks-plus each for spark plug replacement and oil pan replacement; compare this to about 500 bucks (or less!) each at an independent shop. Fortunately, the car ran smoothly afterwords. Unfortunately, it seems that the Subaru techs missed a bunch of details in their "multi-point" inspection, which while they didn't necessarily affect immediate safety, point to a lack of attention to detail. First, inspection of tires included an attestation that I had a matched set - which was certainly false; a couple of roadside flats meant that I had no fewer than three brands of tires on the car. Second, I was surprised at a rainstorm a week later that they'd missed a set of tattered wipers; normally a dealership would jump all over the opportunity for the easy upsell. Maybe Westchester Subaru is capitalizing on their location to fleece the local demographic. Don't be that guy unless absolutely necessary. read more

Very disappointed with the service department and dealership overall. My wife and I have purchased three vehicles from here over the past three years. Until recently, I've had nothing but praise for the service I've received. When I had to get all season tires for my WRX, I brought the car here without hesitation. Upon receiving the car back, my clutch is acting up and the dealership refuses to own up to the issue. The fact that I witnessed the same kid who brought my car to me stalling out another WRX multiple times when asked to move it certainly explains how this may have happened. My car has been sitting in their lot since October 17th waiting for Subaru corporate to handle the mess the dealership created, and with the exception of their calling me to swap out my loaner vehicle for another, there's been ZERO communication or follow up on behalf of the dealership. Needless to say, looks like another case of the sales group being very attentive until the point of sale, but you're taking a risk with the service department. Buyer beware. read more

So much for "service". I've had two experiences with this service center in regards to my 2017 outback. The first was meh. The 2nd time was just plain awful. First time was for a routine oil change and inspection. Had to drop the car off but at least they provide uber to White Plains and back which I took advantage of. Price was of course high but that's what you expect at a dealership service center. What really got me though was a few days later I realized that the emissions inspection was due, and this was never brought up during the "multipoint inspection" that they did, so I had to get it done last minute with someone else who had availability. Really big inconvenience but hey I probably saved money having it done somewhere else. The second time is what has really made me consider never taking my car back there again. Have a problem with the proximity rear sensor going off incessantly probably due to a loose sensor rattling around in the rear bumper. Figured this part out myself but of course I'm not going to take it apart myself so made an appointment for 2 PM on a Wednesday to have them look at it. Brought the car in on time. Waited (as usual) for 3 minutes while the front desk people typed or answered phones until finally someone said "Can I help you?" Checked in. Front desk woman says "You're leaving the car right because I am really backed up today." I say "I'm fine coming back later to pick it up but I need to know whether I can pick it up later today." She goes to the garage to check with her people. Comes back. "We can't look at the car today sorry. Do you want to take the car with you?" So let me get this straight. I made an appointment to have my car looked at on 2 PM. You don't close until 5:30 PM. In 3.5 hours you don't have the decency or ability to just look at what I am talking about and give me an idea of how much or how long it would take? I mean if had a doctor's appointment and showed up and they told me we can't see you today, there's no way that would be "ok". Waste of my time. Not once did they apologize even. I left. Not going back. I don't recommend this service center and will be looking for another place to take my car. I love Subaru. I do not like this service center. read more

AWFUL EXPERIENCE. We went in to inquire about a Subaru that we saw online; was told that the car was still available. We then proceeded to test drive the car and came down to a price that both parties agreed to. We went to the Bronx to get a check and paid for the car in full. They told us we could go out to eat while waiting for paperwork; as we are waiting the manager calls us apologizing that they had actually already sold the car. They wasted our time! I booked my appointment online for 1:00. When I got there, I was told employees take lunch from 12:30 to 1:30! The person who signed the confirmation of the appointment in the online letter was there and told me they do that so that I wouldn't have to wait for my appointment while my car was being signed in. This is a profoundly exceptional policy! After stating that I thought that this was a crazy policy and unheard of, my car was serviced in a reasonable amount of time. Went for a complimentary check up and was told I needed a new wheel barring and it would be $650. I didn't agree to it and went home and found out it should have been covered under warranty. Called the service manager numerous times and never received a call back finally gave up and called Subaru of America and they authorized the repair at a different service center. How many others have paid for repairs at this station not knowing that they were covered under the new car warranty? read more

Have had generally good experiences here. Much faster to get appointments than dealers closer to where I live. Had a wild experience tho on my last visit. Had emailed about a repair needed and it was missed by the service advisor, who's usually really good. I was in need of a loaner and had emailed that, too. It took an hour and I was in a huge rush due to work commitments. The loaner was great but no quick guide to the new computerized screen meant for some on-road drama until my teen figured it out for us. Came to pick up the car and the one fix was not done and I again was under a work deadline and had to rush back to work. Had to head back without it. Dealer emailed me and I gave the feedback. Had the ability to get the car in ASAP at any time of my choosing and they fixed the issue at no charge in under an hour. Very grateful. I scheduled oil service a month ago for 05/14/2022, I did arrive at service center on time for my appointment, unfortunately I was informed that wait time is two hours? I complained and I was informed that I can take my car and leave? very unpleasant experience, definitely not coming there anymore, it looks like they overbooked all appointments, After great buying experience this was such negative experience, the staff should be trained more in dealing with clients. read more

After our terrible experience at Westchester Subaru Service, we contacted Corporate to inform them of what happened. We didn't expect anything to come from reaching out to corporate, but just wanted to let them know Westchester Subaru was dishonest with us. Just heard from Corporate and after their own investigation, Corporate is refunding us the money Westchester Subaru charged us! So glad to see Corporate step up in place of its local dishonest affiliate! If we do buy another Subaru in the future, we will definitely be going across the river to Orangeburg for service.
