As soon as you walk in someone greets you and they are nice and eager to help you find what you're looking for. I also appreciate their willingness to provide recommendations! From the initial welcome to small talk and deciding what to the order, staff act refreshingly cordial and cherry. They welcome regulars and catch up about recent events. For my light weekend coffee break, I ordered a large drip coffee ($3) and 2 slices of quiche ($4 each). The coffee was in a pump dispenser; luckily, it did not seem to have sat too long and did not taste over-steeped. The quiche slices - one a bacon broccoli cheddar; the other a tomato, onion, pepper, and Mexican cheese - proved deliciously savory.

I can honestly say that the only thing that I've ever purchased from this location is there soft serve vanilla ice cream but it is extremely good, very creamy and for that reason I continue to frequent this joint. On the last day and then I went for this season I ordered a cone and the price was different then I had been charged the previous times there. Apparently, I mentioned that to the owner who was not happy and said in a very nasty way "I'm gonna have to talk to my girls about that, they should know the pricing and that's lost money for me!" I simply asked a question about price and the size of the ice cream cone that I got, which was extremely stingy from the owner of the business. This place needs more consistency from top to bottom in terms of the size of their scoops and/or cones.

While browsing the menu, I decided to try…read morethe jibarito - a sandwich made with flattened plantains instead of bread, filled with lettuce, tomato, and a choice of protein ($14). I picked the euphemistically named "steak," which turned out to be ground beef that wasn't even well-browned. The combination of lettuce, tomato, and simply seasoned ground beef tasted a bit too much like a Crunchwrap Supreme. Fresher and twice the size, sure - but still within that same flavor palette. Even the fried green plantains, which should've added some texture, had steamed into mild sogginess from the foil wrap, despite me ordering it for dine-in. Maybe I'll try the Cubano or the empanadas next time. The jibarito was fine, but definitely overhyped here and on Google Reviews.
