Had high hopes for this place because I've heard of similar places that were delicious, but unfortunately this place is NOT! The base and flavors used for the "ice cream" taste very fake. I got the traditional cream base with the flavors of malt and peanut butter with fudge on top and it tasted extremely chemically and watered down. There was 5 of us and none of us enjoyed our ice cream. One of the biggest problems is the textural issues with this stuff (whatever it is). It has a texture that mimics glue and ice, and it pretty much tastes like that, and I'm talking not even elmers glue, I'm talking like store brand glue. Ew go somewhere else. read more

Actually not a fan of this place... What drawn me in was of course their method of creating ice cream from scratch, right in front of you, flash frozen with nitrogen, which I've had before elsewhere and I remember enjoying it. But this place didn't cut it for me, I've had the Magnetic Mint which is made up I believe Andes Mints and and mint flavored syrup for color (like a shamrock shake at McDonald's) and toppings like Oreo and fudge. The texture of the ice cream itself wasn't smooth enough, it sort of fell apart kind of like kinetic sand. Also, the Andes Mints weren't broken down enough so those frozen chocolate pieces weren't really enjoyable and I absolutely love Andes Mints, so that was off-putting for me. This artificial mint syrup stuff just doesn't belong in ice cream, especially the amount the worker had put in. Also want to point out when the guy was making mine, he was not entirely committed to it, his eyes were toward the tv for most part and that just shows lack of care. The interior is kind of lame besides the huge tank, but I mean shouldn't an ice cream place be exciting? Just wasn't enjoying it and probably won't be back. read more

I was super excited when I found out there was a sugar free option... so a week before Memorial Day I made the drive and decided to give it a go to see how it would affect my sugar levels. Well... it tasted great and my sugar levels remained steady. It was great! I'm type 1 diabetic so I was thrilled to have finally found a place I could enjoy ice cream with everyone. My excitement was short lived when the week after, I made the drive again, waited in a super long line, and although I was told when I ordered that there was the sugar free base... when they went to make it... the other employee came back from out back and said there wasn't any. It was upsetting but I just thought ok, they ran out. Well... I made the drive again today and once again when I ordered, I asked if they had the sugar free option and again... they said they did have it. We ordered mine and then my boyfriend ordered his... and we paid for both. One employee started making his and then the other employee was asking a third employee how to make the sugar free option. He told him they didn't have any. ‍ total disappointment! He told us that the sugar free option has been on back order for about a month and that they keep telling them that it's coming but it hasn't come. He gave us our money back for my order but I was totally disappointed and had to just sit there and watch my boyfriend eat his ice cream for the second time. They shouldn't advertise heavily on the fact that they cater to all diet restrictions if this is a reoccurring situation. Very very disappointed! The only reason I'm even giving it two stars is because it was actually available and good the first time. read more

This was my third visit, so I felt it was an adequate time to leave a review. My first visit was not too bad, my boyfriend introduced me to this place. The first time seeing the freezing process was very cool, and the ice cream was pretty good. I had the cinnamon roll sensation plus cheesecake bits and a lactose free base. Second visit was with a group of about 10 people. Everyone other than me had never been before, so it took a good 15-20 minutes to figure out what everyone wanted to order. Since it was a trip for a club, we were all paying together. Unfortunately, there was only one employee working and he insisted on waiting until everyone had decided and relayed their order to him to begin to make the ice creams. Then it took about 3-4 minutes each. That's an hour for ice cream! I can't even remember what I ordered. My third visit was today, and I was definitely less than impressed. I ordered the mint sensation with brownies and a lactose free base. The texture of my ice cream was incredibly gluey, and the mint tasted absolutely fake. After a few bites, I just didn't want much of it anymore. It also had a slightly watery taste to it, almost like the base was watered down. Totally not worth almost $6 for a small! Definitely think the novelty of sub zero has worn off. The ice cream is just okay, not a very high quality but what can you expect with flavor squirts- definitely not fresh! Unfortunately, with these prices you would think it was organic! Most likely will just bring lactose pills and do my ice cream business elsewhere. read more

My Fiancé and I have been going here for about 2 years now. Today we had the worst experience ever that almost cost my fiancé her life. We know the menu well due to her SEVERE dairy allergy. She will go into anaphylactic shock. It's not "lactose intolerant" where she will get the runs and call it a day. We like the place because they cater to her allergies and ALWAYS check. Today, not so much. My fiancé ordered her ice cream with all dairy free toppings and flavorings. She, of course, over emphasized her allergies and told them the severity. He clearly did not take it seriously as he replaced one of her toppings with another topping that was made with dairy. He did not inform us of the change either. It just happened with no communication. Luckily, my fiancé noticed something different and asked. His response was "oh these toppings are interchangeable, it's fine". They may be interchangeable flavor wise, but one had Dairy and the other does not. He didn't even bother to check or even ask if it was okay. When we told him this, he responded with "I just gave you what you asked for". As if it was our fault? We asked for no dairy. And you changed a topping to one with dairy despite the allergy notification? Had my fiance not checked prior to taking a bite, I would be writing this in the hospital room. This is inexcusable. This employee should be absolutely ashamed of himself. Not only for his act, but arguing and casting the blame on my fiancé for "getting what she asked for". Unbelievable. read more

I ordered coffee icecream with heath bar. I got a small and it filled half the cup and didn't even reach the top of the cup. They put the last of the heath so I got one chunk of heath. It tasted like almonds and I will make sure to never go here again. Complete waste of money. read more

I saw the Shark Tank episode and was excited to see a franchise in our area. Any place that approaches serving food in a unique and fun way is the type of establishment that deserves the business. So entertaining for kids, who are already out-of-their-mind happy for getting ice cream! The flavors and combination choices were endless, so I decided to go for one of their own creations from their "Sensations" list. Can't remember what it was called, but I know it had key lime flavoring and cheesecake chunks...extremely yummy. Very cool watching them blast the chosen ingredients and cream in a stainless bowl with the liquid nitrogen- it was quite a show. As for the quality of the finished product, while it wasn't the absolute best number one ice cream I've ever had (although very, very good!), it maintained a freezing cold temperature the whole time I was eating it. No melted mess in the bottom of my bowl was a huge plus. The eating area inside of Sub Zero was very clean, and we sprawled out on the comfy seating and watched Sponge Bob on their flat screen. The employees were all friendly and took plenty of time to explain how it was made and gave flavor suggestions. One young man was not only enthusiastic about the product, but took it in stride when the freezing tank stopped working and had to finish it with their small catering tank. Store is so frequently out of what I go there for it almost isn't worth being an option. They offer custard and it seems to almost never be available. I complained that this is a too frequent occurrence and the staff jokes with me about other items they run out of consistently. If this is happening so often then stock more! All excuses aside it can be summed up as poor management. read more

I cannot even begin to describe how special our wedding night was because of subzero. Both my husband and I started planning our wedding and knew that we definitely didn't want to do traditional cake as dessert. We're just not cake people! I have no idea where the ice cream idea came from but I am so glad it was a part of our day especially with Subzero! When we began our search, we stumbled upon this awesome idea in which the ice cream can be made right in front of you. Ice cream and a show! We were pretty sold from the start but ran right to the subzero store in Nashua, NH to give it a taste- sold immediately! I was even more sold after communicating with Rita. She was amazing at getting back to my emails in a timely fashion, setting up tastings and following up with us when necessary. When we went in for a tasting, the young man in the shop was so caring, hardworking and made us feel so special. We could have been there for hours tasting different flavors! On our wedding night, the two staff who served were so friendly and kind! (So sorry that I don't remember their names!!) They interacted with guests, joked around giving "facials" with the dry ice because it was SO hot and even brought a special surprise for the bride and groom!! After serving everyone, they made special rounds with seconds! We received so many comments about how lovely the staff were, how delicious the ice cream was and how crazy a "show" they put on while making it! We would not have wanted it any other way!! I went in with my family about 1:30 in the afternoon. There was a group of four people ahead of me being served by two employees. There appeared to be three employees working. None of them greeted us or acknowledged that there were people waiting. We waited about 15 minutes to be waited on. I tried the lemon Italian ice while others in my family all got the mint ice cream. The lemon ice tasted very artificial. It was not lemony at all. But the texture of the ice was great. The ice cream was ok.. nothing special. The prices are high, as I expected they would be. It is exciting to watch, but I will not be back. Waiting that long for ice cream in a practically empty place is not my idea of a fun time. read more

Although the ice cream is pretty good, and the sizes are pretty big, the gimmick is just not enough to make me want to come back. First off, the prices are almost twice those of a regular ice cream shop. Unlike the other froyo places though, they are set prices and not "weighed." Which is something I like. The issue I have is the wait time. It takes a good three to five minutes for the full process after you pick what you want. So if you have a group in front of you of three or more you're looking at a good 20 minute wait before they can even get to you. Add undecisive people into the mix and you could be standing in line for a while. The girls at the counter making the ice cream were very friendly and the decor is nice, and there is more than enough seating. Overall it was a fairly average experience. Even though I did like my ice cream which had a lot of candy pieces in it, it just missed the mark in making me want to return. I will say the process is very...cool... (pun intended) but again, after you see it once the novelty quickly wears off. I recommend going at least once just to see the freezing process. read more

Searched this place out and took my daughter here because the place looked so cool, i had to check it out. Very original and fun idea! But that's where it ends. I ordered lactose free mint chocolate chip, and kid ordered regular ice cream cookie dough flavor. I was not impressed with mine at all. The flavor was very artificial tasting, but what did I expect after seeing all the artificial flavor bottles lined up! LOL! but then the texture was off too. Too hard and a glue like consistency when eating. I seriously only had a few bites:( thought it was mine because it was lactose free, but tasted my kid's and hers had same slightly off consistency. AND she didn't like it that much either! A kid didn't like her ice cream! huh...well that's a first. I mean, she ate half of it cuz it was sweet, but admitted later it wasn't great, which i guessed since she didn't finish it as usual. SO, It was fun to watch and all, but we def won't be back. clean place, friendly workers, but, unfortunately, the quality of the ice cream regarding taste and texture did not thrill us to say the least. read more
