This was my first time here. I am going to say right away. I will be back. This place is a great place for Mexican food and Pan Dulce ( sweet bread ). I came here thinking I was only going to buy bread. I did not know they sold food. Boy was I pleasantly surprised. The cuts of meat in the Tacos, Tortas, and Cali Burrito were quality. Not that chews meat you get at some other restaurants. The meat is seasoned to perfection. The Torta and Cali burrito, are very filling. This place does not skimp on portions. The only thing I would have liked, would have been Guacamole on the tacos. The service is promo and polite. The ambiance is a mix of a bread shop and Mexican restaurant. Now the Pan Dulce was fresh and soft. Well made and traditionally Mexican. The Tres Leches is moist and sweet. The Flan is similar to the Filipino Leche Flan or the Jericalla Flan. Very thick, not like the soft Mexican flan you might be use to. I like it a lot. As I said in the beginning. I will be back, for an update. read more

Tried their big breakfast burrito and everything in it was well cooked and fresh. It had good taste and was well sized.

I've been here 3x already. I came in on accident just curious of their pastries. It's a Spanish bakery with bread and cakes. Then I realized they serve food. One of the best California burritos. It's large, tight, flavorful filled with meat and fresh avocado and fries. Both times, I ate it so fast that I forgot to take a photo! The third time I came and tried the carne asada. It wasn't the same. For one, don't go 15 mins before they close. Two, the chef went home and the lady in the front became the chef. I was disappointed on the amount of meat and how it's rolled so loose. Still my top place. It's also affordable for the amount that you get. It comes with a side of fries. This time I tried the concha. It was vanilla flavored sweet bread. Never had one so can't compare it to anything. Next time I'll try their cakes. They have whole cakes and slices. read more

Really sweet owner and staff. Came for conchas - my favorite was the chocolate flavor. Pairs so well with coffee!!! And it was only $1!

Service: 5/5 Food: 4/5 Ambiance: 3.5/5 I have high standards when it comes to panaderias. While this place is decent, it is nothing like what I get when I go back home but this is the closest one to me now. The vanilla empanada was too sweet in my opinion but my kids enjoyed the pineapple and said it was great. The jelly rolls were very good and the conchas were on par with the standard. I went around 9 am on a Sunday and there was plenty to choose from and everything was fresh. I wish they had pumpkin empanadas though. This is my second time stopping in and I'll probably come back for the jelly rolls when in the mood. read more

Disappointing Every Time. I really wanted to support a local spot, but Su Pan Bakery has been a consistent letdown. The bread is always hard and never tastes fresh, no matter what time of day I go. On top of that, their prices are outrageous for the quality you're getting. What's even more frustrating is that their business hours are all over the place--don't trust the times posted online because half the time, they're not even open when they say they will be. If you're in Poway, save yourself the disappointment and head over to O'Brien's Bakery instead. Way better quality, fair pricing, and actually consistent service. Su Pan needs to step it up. read more

Upon entering you are greeted with a simple but warm hello. I was interested in the sweets so headed straight to the counter ready to pick my selection. I wanted to a lot so ended up getting a slice of tres leches, tiramisu, mocha tres leches, triple chocolate tres leches and flan! The cakes were delicious! Just the amount of sweetness and very flavorful. I enjoyed the classic tres leches the most. All the desserts had either a chocolate crust or cookie crust which was a nice surprise. We also ordered a La Cubana torta. Soooo delicious. My daughter said it the best torta she's ever hard. The ambiance was not anything fancy but cozy. Service was friendly. I had just gotten my hair cut at the salon next door and was famished! I ordered the breakfast burrito, which was amazing. The ingredients were fresh and customized exactly how I asked. Because the cakes looked soooo inviting, I had to have one. I ate the burrito in the car, it was exactly what I needed. I saved the cake for when I got home. It was also fresh and flavorful. The staff was super nice :) the food came out pretty quick. It's a quick serve shop for sure with inside seating for about 10 at booth style seating. I was very impressed with Su Pan Bakery, all the treats were great. The bacon breakfast burrito really surprised me, it's not huge but you can taste that it's made with care. The tortilla was soft, eggs were cooked well, not watery not greasy. Bacon was cooked great, ratios were good inside of the burrito and ingredients were mixed in. I like the potatoes, little crunch of the bacon gave it the perfect texture. I liked both the green and the red salsas. Bakery was very clean, no complaints there. I'll be back to Su Pan mostly because of the service. Genuinely nice good people, who are smiling and happy to be there. You can taste the love in the food. read more

What a nice little unassuming Mexican spot tucked in with some random store and shops. Some of the best burritos and tortas in Poway. We got the machaca and adovada burritos, both were great. We also got a Cuban torta, which was so good. And finished it off with a chocolate chip cookie and tres leches mocha. All the food was great and we plan on coming back. Amazing Tortas. They have so much flavor and freshly made. I had the pierna and it had some spice to it but amazing. Generous with the amount of meat as well. I think this is my favorite place for Tortas now!!!! The tamales were very good as well with not all masa but good amount of meat. read more

Que rico! What delicious Mexican bread this place has. We were greeted by a friendly young lady, Maria. Who explained the differences between each bread. Took our delightful purchase home and made coffee. We tried all 4 pieces and all were extremely fresh, tasty and we couldn't stop eating it and raving about how this bakery offers bread that tastes as if it was homemade. All flavors were there, they don't skip on any spices (cinnamon, vanilla, etc.) and seem to use high quality. The bread melts in your mouth. Please give this place a try. This was a delicious meal.. we came for Tortas and Concha on a Sunday afternoon, only find to find they were sold out of Concha. However, we did treat ourselves to an Elote pastry, which was really flavorful and also fresh. The torta was tasty and the bread alone was incredible, perfectly toasted on the outside and soft. Each layer of the torta was fresh and well seasoned, making todays lunch special. The gentleman who worked this day was really accommodating. I'm so excited about this panadería! We stopped by on a whim on a Friday evening, not expecting to find much. Although the shelves were not fully stocked, we found fruit tarts, pan dulce, flan, muffins, and lots of cake slices to choose from. There was Martinelli apple juice in the fridge. Came yesterday here got a tres leches mocha cake the best one I ever had in tres leches, I don't like sweet cakes and this is perfect not too sweet, the tortas menu looked good so I came back today for a Chilanga torta, I give the torta a 10, they just need to have better hot sauce I did not like it. The owner is the sweetest lady ever. I feel bad they haven't given her a sign yet, she's still under he Denali Pizza sign. Floaties plaza. When she first opened she gave out tons of free samples and everyone raved on Facebook, but looks like they forgot to leave a Yelp review. Well deserved 5 stars. We were so excited to see that a panadería open up in Poway and all of our expectations were met above and beyond. Was looking for a rosca de Reyes last minute. I couldn't find one and was dreading the drive to Escondido or south at 5 pm. decided to check this place out and they had some! Extremely disappointed! The most basics and yet most telling of pan dulce is the concha, which should be soft, pliable and sweet. The conchas at Su Pan looked beautiful, however they were hard and dry, they lacked any flavor and tasted like cardboard. Poor quality or days old bread. Based on other ratings I went to Su Pan in Poway. Should have known by the location and smallness of the shop. I also purchased other breads and equally poor overall. Also bought a tamal de rajas. The flavor was good but it was undercooked. The service was kind. Most definitely will not return and do not recommend. read more
