Elite Baking is my absolute favorite bakery. Anu is a completely lovely person and a true confectionary artist. We have work events every couple of months at my work and Anu has made us some truly beautiful creations. All I've had to do was send her a couple of idea photos and she takes it from there. Her creations are not only beautiful they're absolutely melt in your mouth delicious as well. Amazing Pokemon Cake for my twins 9th birthday! My kids were so excited. Anu was great to work with and incorporated all the details we wanted. My kids love the chocolate chip banana cake flavor! Everyone at the party thought the cake was delicious and looked incredible; they were all asking where we got it - I told them Elite Baking is the best! I wish I could give her 5 stars but unfortunately I can't. I ordered a cake and 4 dozen sports theme cake pops for my son's first birthday. Sent lots of photos of what I was expecting. The communication was great- and the cake was great..but ultimately I've decided to take a couple of stars off for the cake pops. They didn't look professional at all..and i was disappointed when I saw them. Several of them were even cracked...see pics. I've seen pics of her other work, and they look great so not sure what happened with my order. I wish she would have told me she couldn't do them instead of accepting my order.

She was extremely accommodating and never made us feel like our last-minute request was an inconvenience. She carefully followed all our design ideas and brought them to life beautifully. The cake looked fantastic and tasted just as good--both kids and adults loved it! I highly recommend her for specialty cakes. This review may be a bit late, but I didn't want to miss the chance to share how wonderful our experience was.

I found Elite Baking because I needed something right away and she was all I could find locally, but I'm glad I did. I ordered a 50th Birthday cake and it turned out beautiful and delicious (we ordered marble). The only negative is that it was pricier than my normal go to baker. I would definitely recommend her for delicious cakes and will order from her again.

My gosh! On Thursday my brother told me he didn't get cupcakes for my nieces 18th bday dinner Sat. I contacted Elite Bakery as soon as they opened. The only request I had was red is my nieces favorite color and due to cost of the cupcakes I asked for half floral and half regular decorated. I got strawberry flavor. She finished the cupcakes before requested 2pm time. We were allllll blown away and the cake itself was delicious!!!! Service was above expectation!!! I'm so glad I found her on Yelp! We also got one vanilla with strawberry filling and that was delicious too!

I highly recommend Elite baking. She did a fantastic job with my son's birthday cake, dinosaur cupcakes, and dinosaur cake pops. Everyone at the party was amazed with the chocolate lava Dino cake. She went above and beyond my expectations. Everything was perfect and delicious. I have used several other bakeries and she is by far The best. She even gave us free, delicious brownies.

Amazing!! Couldn't recommend more. Great communication, great quality and fair pricing. The mini cupcakes were a hit!

Unfortunately, I wasn't even able to place an order, so I'm very frustrated with the service and the time I wasted over the course of a week trying to order cupcakes. I don't know why she didn't just tell me she didn't want to take my order. From her first response to her last, my gut feeling was right. I never should have spent my time and energy giving her my business. Her communication was poor from the beginning. She did not answer my questions right away, gave short responses, and I often had to ask the same questions more than once before getting an answer. I immediately felt like I was not welcomed as a customer. Even though most of her reviews seemed good, I tried to be patient and continue with the order. Before I could send payment, she said there was a family emergency, that she had to travel, and that she would no longer be able to make the cupcakes. While emergencies certainly happen and it could truly be the case- the timing left me skeptical, especially since the event is still over two weeks away. Before being cancelled on, I was simply asking for written confirmation of the correct order details and pricing (bc in her previous email it was incorrect). I wanted the correct cupcake order and price written down for a paper trail before sending payment. It did not need to be official, but after the incorrect total and poor communication, I felt uneasy. Her explanation for the wrong amount did not make sense compared to her listed prices, which made me feel like she may have been trying to upcharge me. Regardless of the emergency, communication was just poor and that's the main reason for this review. I don't know if my order was too difficult because I requested several different flavors, no designs, except for one cupcake. I'm not sure where things went wrong, but I'm very disappointed because her work looks great. Some of her reviews mentioned good communication, but that was not my experience at all. I hope she does not treat another customer this way, especially because planning a party is already stressful. If she does not answer your questions clearly and promptly, I would consider taking your business elsewhere. I would not recommend. read more

I had an amazing experience with Elite Baking back in January. I ordered a custom vanilla bean cake with whipped vanilla frosting for my parents' birthdays (they're not a few days apart in January). The owner brought it out to my car in a very secure cake box, an he home was quite easy to find as well out in Sabre Springs. The cake was absolutely beautiful, and even more importantly, it was absolutely delicious. We brought it to the restaurant we ate at for the birthday dinner, and the staff cut it for us and served it. The cake was fluffy and moist, and the frosting was divine. 100% can't recommend Elite Baking enough to help you create a truly special event or holiday. read more

She made cupcakes and a smash cake for my son's first birthday on short notice, and she truly was a lifesaver. Anu communicated with me well, and was very receptive to my specific design requests. My guests enjoyed the different flavors of cake/cupcakes including: carrot, chocolate peanut butter chip, strawberry, chocolate, and Hazelnut almond. The only suggestion would be to have the cupcake types labeled, although based on my selections, it was easy to tell which were which. The pricing was reasonable given the size of cakes ordered and design requests. We were able to get closer to 30 servings of cake out of each one. I would consider getting treats from Elite Baking again. A big plus for being available during the holiday season/end of year. read more

I would highly recommend Anu's services from Elite Baking! Our company requested a cake for a very last minute event celebrating a promotion -- Anu was the first person I reached out to via email, and she was very responsive! She was able to take in my request PLUS offer delivery for an additional $30 (as our office was near her). I sent her inspo photos, cake colors, topping preferences, requested recommendations for best filling/flavor, etc. and let me tell ya, she completely nailed it! The cake was stunning and exactly how I was envisioning it. We didn't want to cut into it because it was so beautiful. The flavors were delicious too! I do wish they took credit card info from the website so I can use the company cc. She only accepts Venmo, Apple Pay, Zelle, and PayPal (charges 5%). Other than that, nooo issues from my end! This is our second cake from Elite Baking and they did not disappoint. The cake was delicious and more than enough for everyone. What an amazing experience. My coworkers 40th birthday was today and I was able to put in an order yesterday less than 24 hours and have them ready for me by yesterday evening. They were beautifully decorated cupcakes that look like real flowers and the taste of the cupcake was very moist and the butter whipped topping was delicious. Meet the Business Owner: Anusha S.

I am Anusha , the founder of Elite Baking. I baked my first gourmet cake 17 years ago. I felt bad about feeding my 1 year old son something that was made with a lot of food additives & preservatives and topped with ready-made icing. This inspired to me to bake and hand-ice a birthday cake using nothing but the finest ingredients. My passion for baking started on this day. Over the past several years, I have designed and made numerous custom cakes for family, friends and extended circle and gained a wealth of experience and confidence. Following on my dreams, I trained at San Francisco cooking school. I broadened my experience by working for a renowned bakery in San Francisco. I have also won a number of prestigious awards such as Contra Costa Cake & Sugar Art Society Novelty Cake and Contra Costa Cake & Sugar Art Society Cupcake. I founded Elite Baking when I moved to San Diego and still hold true to my original ethos of only using the highest quality ingredients.

The smallest of gestures and niceties are what make leaving the house worth it. GIANDUIA. This cake is nothing you can be prepared for, yet everything you need without setting expectations. The boysenberry was the perfect separation for the waves of chocolate and the subtle crunch of the hazelnut toffee type of layer on the very top. The chocolate mousse was the exact mouth feel needed to separate the rich layers of chocolate cake. I wanted to try a couple of different croissants so we ordered the plain, chocolate and ham and cheese. I wish I asked them to warm up the ham and cheese. I think it would've turned out better. I really enjoyed the chocolate and my boyfriend enjoyed his plain croissant. The team here is very attentive. They definitely clean the tables right away ready for the next patron which I appreciate. Great spot to try while visiting San Diego.

My husband joined us at some point, having brought food from another place at which point a waiter told us he can't eat outside food in the restaurant, which usually I wouldn't mind, but that was literally the only major interaction we had with our waiter aside from being seated and bringing out the beignets and it had been over an hour long wait to get food by then... All in all, food is great, but wait time / service was extremely disappointing. Order take-out unless you have a super free schedule to potentially wait an hour for food.

I have ordered cakes and macaroons for my mum's birthday as well as for my friend's birthday at Elite baking. It was absolutely perfect. Anusha's work was polished and the cake and frosting had a great flavor. Guests at the party were raving about how beautiful they were. When they started eating, people could not stop talking about how delicious they were! Everyone wanted to know where we got it. I have tried different flavored Macaroons as well. Macaroons looked awesome and very delicious. I haven't stopped ordering it still then. We ordered my daughter's 9th birthday cake/ cup cakes with Elite baking and Anu did a fantastic job! The cake looked absolutely beautiful and tasted delicious! The red velvet cup cake was too good! First time transaction and I must say I am impressed by her skills. Communication was thorough and hassle free. I gave her a picture I found online and she copied it to a tee. My son was blown away by the decor. Tasted as good as it looks as well. Profesional and safe transfer in due to covid also. Will be buying from again! Thx a bunch. read more

Elite Baking does an amazing job at meeting your personalized requests and the flavors are always delicious. We have ordered cupcakes for 3 events now - my baby shower, nephew's birthday, and my son's baptism. We needed a birthday cake for a 5 year old while we were traveling. Elite bakery delivered the perfect cake with little notice. It was perfectly charming and the chocolate buttercream was fluffy buttery and not overly sweet. Very impressive cake and we are dedicated bakers. So grateful read more

I ordered a birthday cake for my husband's 50th and Anu did a great job with it. Also a Sri Lankan Style chocolate cake was yummy. Her delicious macaroons were so good. I highly recommend this place. You will never get a better taste of a cake anywhere else. read more
