Nusha - World Cup finals at Nusha was amazing

Talking about cocktail, Nusha is one place that makes cocktail especially for you; all you have to do is tell the experienced staff what taste you want. The wide range of cocktail choice was very impressive, from spirits to liquor and some names that are not even familiar. I sat on one of the stylish block chairs as I watched the staff shake, mix and twist as he made fine cocktails. There were other classic cocktail on the menu such as mai tais, Moscow mules, New York, adios attitude adjuster each having a touch if mixed spirits to give it its unique character. However, I was not in an adventurous mood, so I stuck to my simple mix of Smirnoff Vodka, midori and Caribbean to make it exciting and for just £4.00 a glass. The best part of Nusha has to be the décor, the retro style, square tables, large mirrors, plasma TV so that you can watch the music video as you listen to it. They also have subtle lighting that adds sexiness to the atmosphere, and well stocked bar. I was however not impressed with the female toilet, as it was a little unkempt compared to the bar itself, but the mirrors were large enough to see myself full length. The convenient location makes it stand out; it is close to restaurants, ten-pin bowling and the cinema, so you can chill out before going for a movie or after a meal. Moreover, the chill out atmosphere makes it a place to be on a cool night out.

The pub itself is a new building, in a residential area in the Cambridge suburbs. It's almost split in two, with one side being entirely booth-style seating for groups and the other side being more suited for couples or individuals. Being owned by the Milton Brewery, which is a local brewery, there were 5 of their ales on cask for me to sample. I went for a pint of Dionysus first, which is a pale ale with a reasonable amount of hoppy flavour without being overbearing. That was followed by a pint of Pegasus, which is a CAMRA award-winning bitter. Both beers were fantastic, neither were overly strong at around the 4% mark, and at £3.10 a pint my fears that Cambridge would financially bankrupt me were unfounded. The food here is also solid. I had the minted lamb burger, which came with triple cooked chips and salad. The burger was delicious, though not really very minty. The chips were brilliant, soft in the middle but nicely crisp on the outside and hot! The salad was also decent, with no cucumber or tomato to get in the way which was a bonus. For £10, I wasn't complaining. Overall, a nice little pub which does great beers and good food for decent prices. Keep up the good work, folks!

We sat inside and ordered the tobacco old fashioned and the corn & oil cocktails both of which were very tasty and worth their weight in alcohol. We also ordered some light snacks; bread, cheese, olives, olive oil and balsamic, pickles, and mustard which did the trick to help with drinking on an empty stomach although nothing super memorable but it did its job. Our server was attentive and we enjoyed the ambiance of the small but functional facilities on our first trip to Mill Rd; we're excited to return to try more!

(Best wishes for the previous owners...I did try their food and thought it well.) Well, I've been to this new bar at least three times now since it's opened a month ago, and I'm trying to utilize my willpower and not go to spend my money. Alas, the owner makes good drinks with fresh ingredients and bases and liqueurs that aren't stocked elsewhere. In addition to getting our cocktails (e.g. caipirinha, margarita anejo) with what seems to be quite top-shelf (or at least mid-shelf...is that a word?...) spirits for 6.75-7.75 pounds per drink, my bf and I have been addicted to the coffee-infused Patron shots, which aren't cheap but are really delicious. I really like the environment since it's quite chilled and non-rowdy. I can't stand yelling over others at bars and clubs that put too much crap syrup in their drinks. So anyway, good, laid-back but classy vibe here with fresh drinks. Not the cheapest but affordable for a weekly indulgence if you're a college student/yuppie. God this place is pandering to my alcoholic needs.

Gross, dirty carpet, not vacuumed. Dirty WC. Hair from previous occupant on the pillow. Ejaculation stains on the sheets. Seriously. Crusty. Final straw. Asked for a different room. It seems the room they had put us in is usually reserved for people too drunk to walk home. For 75 pounds a night? Just incredibly wrong. Second room they put us in: Seemed decent. They pushed to beds together to make the "double" we were promised on-line. "Bridget" was consulted with to ensure this "double" bed in the first place. Ya... It was...almost fine? until later that night. When the smell started coming from the bathroom. The sewage had backed up. It was awful. We opened the window, sprayed perfume, but it was either that or stay in the car. I almost opted for staying in the car. I woke up with a huge pain in my shoulder from the gap in the beds. Ouch! Do not stay here if you value...anything. It is a disgusting place to stay, and I will be writing to the booking company. I think the UK health authorities should be notified as well, for room #2. I almost cried at the experience. Just...no.
