It was a basic hair cut and she Charges 125$ which is too much for only a hair cut. My hair was clean, they washed it again. I said I do not want to brush she persisted on brushing. If I knew in advance that is how much she charges I would not go to that store. Also the store was very dirty. She used same towel for all the customers.

I unfortunately had a pretty negative experience at this salon. I have been on a hair health…read morejourney for the last year and a half and have done ample research about protecting and nourishing my natural hair. Upon arrival, Lakeya was very rough with my hair in the wash process, ripping through small knots and swishing my hair around instead of scrubbing and massaging my scalp. The wash was not thorough and I still had buildup in my scalp. She then tried to detangle my hair with little to no product and because she had another client in the middle of a service, she slapped on very minimal conditioner in 4 sections and stuck my under the steamer. I had an inkling that I should derange my own hair to protect it from her harsh hand so I suggested that I would detangle while she finished pressing her client. I asked what conditioner she was using and she pointed to a tub titled "Silicon Mix", I can assure you, the products you use in your wash 100% effect your hair's health and this cheap product was absolutely not adequate to use on anybody wanting healthy hair. I asked to use another product to apply and she allowed it. After I detangled and put conditioner in (most of my hair was dry and had no product at all), she was ready to wash it out, I told her I needed to do a proper steam now that I had conditioner in my hair that needed time to hydrate my hair in the steam (I paid for a Hydration Steam Treatment). She let me steam for 10 min then when it was time to wash, she suggested that she put rubber bands on the ends of my twists to wash so that she "wouldn't have to detangle again" I told her absolutely not.. I was astounded she would even suggest such a harsh and damaging way to wash it.. she rinsed me out and was clearly upset that I had been vocal about my boundaries and requests about handling my hair. I told her I understood that it's hard to get feedback but I'm not letting someone damage my hair that's been through so much. And her strategy and thoughts on hair health were purely outdated and inaccurate. She then blew my hair out ,which was fine. I booked a trim and she was nervous about what I wanted and I told her, I just want whatever damaged and split ends you see to go. I double checked and asked if she saw where the splits were and she said yes and began to trim. She turned my chair so I couldn't see her trimming but I didn't want to offend her any further so I didn't ask her to turn me. After finishing, she put it in French braids and sent me on my way. When I got home and took the braids down, I realized my ends were still dry and brittle and I had splits all throughout my hair. I realized she barely trimmed my ends. I texted her because the sole reason I went was to get a good trim to maintain my hair's health and prevent accumulated damage. I sent her a photo of one obvious split and told her that I was very disappointed that my hair wasn't properly trimmed and she said that she was afraid to cut more because of my previous requests but I told her that a good trim is purposely to get rid of splits that can travel up the hair shaft and cause awful breakage. Now I have to go get another trim to make sure I don't have splits that continue up the hair shaft. She didn't reply to me and didn't even offer to send back any of the $100 I paid (even though I didn't get any of the services I wanted... a terrible wash, I deranged myself and had to put conditioner to even have an effective steam, and the trim did nothing). It could have been rectified with her offering to fix something but she refused accountability. Stylists need to be open minded to learn how to best care for natural hair. Our hair is fragile and needs hydration and proper care to grow healthy.

I have been looking for a salon for my niece and mom for a very long time. When I found Dream Salon…read moreon yelp and saw all the great reviews I said why not give it a shot. My niece made an appointment for the day before new years. She got a dream will press, we were happy she could fit my niece in for such a short time. The place is difficult to find since it was our first time, but located on the second floor of the parking garage in salon plaza. In the office building with other salons. Keya made my nieces hair soft and manageable, she could not stop taking picture's. We made another appointment for my mother. I was a little worried because my mother's hair was falling out and there was not much to work with, but Keya made it work. She gave us great advice on what to not use and how to properly maintain our hair. We will be coming here from now on. pros: it is located right across the Mall of Prince George's. So many restaurants around Keya is the greatest con: hard to find the place

This place is the bomb. Seriously. My stylist was Isis…read more I got an appointment at the last minute for a cut and color. I brought in photos of the color I wanted, the approximate length, and a verbal description of what I was looking for in a style. I was worried it would not come out well because I've had really bad experiences with getting my hair cut (see previous review of Fringe), but this place went above and beyond. I got the exact cut I wanted and the color is spot-on. Apparently this salon is pretty new (only open for a few months). But if you're considering coming here - do it. You won't regret it. Isis spent A LOT of time on my cut and color (almost 3.5 hours) and it only cost $85!! Amazing. Even with the $20 tip, that's still significantly less than most places in D.C. would charge. She was thorough, very nice, and continually asked me if I was okay (is the water too warm or cold when shampooing? How long would you like the side-sweep? Do you want some water?). It's rare to find this level of professionalism, courtesy, and talent with such a reasonable price tag. Especially in the D.C. area. I needed a stylish, yet professional cut with a rich and vibrant color. I got it. I'm so ecstatic with this haircut. It's gorgeous. I will definitely be coming back.

I think it is supposed business, yet you cannot get anyone to take your call due to the above. I've been trying for months in and months out. Shameful, and for a business. My first search lead me to the Silver Spring area. It was kinda far for me with my schedule. So I went off to find a new hair dresser. After looking on Yelp I found a place and a recommendation for a lady who does great color. Well my hair is above my butt and full of high lights so I need a good colorist. I came in and immediately fell in love! Josefina was nice, polite and not afraid of my hair. And she took me on the spot. I always come so they can examine my hair but her, nope she was like this is what I do. In love. Closer to home and definitely my go to. Also, important to note that this is a multi cultural salon. You have the barbershop in the front and the salon area in the back. Love it! The barber was nice, said hi and how can I help you as soon as I walked in. My last hair stylist who turned into my bestie was a black American woman. So for me anyone should be able to do all kinds of hair but in the MD area it was hard for me. A stylist is a stylist. I found that most salons were not multicultural which for a mixed girl was kinda hard. Super glad this is multicultural. Love it! Owners were so nice too btw.

I came in with my hair already blow-dried and only needed styling and clip-in installation, yet they still charged me $60 -- the price of a full roller set including wash and blow dry, which I did not receive. On top of that, they charged $72 to install one pack of clip-ins, bringing my total to $132 -- far more than I expected for the limited services I actually received. What's more confusing is that on a previous visit for the exact same service (on a Saturday), I was only charged $90 total. When I questioned why I was being charged the full wash/set price this time, the manager claimed it's "the same price" regardless of whether I received the full service -- which makes absolutely no sense. She eventually took off $10, but did so with an attitude and then talked about me to the other stylists right in front of me. To make matters worse, I had to ask the stylist to use a heat protectant before applying hot tools -- something that should be standard practice if they truly care about the health of their clients' hair. While the final result looked fine, the unfair pricing, unprofessional behavior, and lack of attention to hair health left me deeply disappointed. I won't be returning and would not recommend this salon to anyone who values transparent pricing and respectful treatment.
