I went to Tig for take down service of the hairstyle in the picture. This is the second time I've come here for take down service and been satisfied. As an African American woman who loves her protective styling, I loathe the take down process. Each time I've come here I've called the day of and been able to obtain same day services. I didn't have to schedule a month out like some places. I wasn't overcharged for length or size of braids. I wasn't overcharged for a wash and blow dry. I admit I was skeptical going to anyone [non-black] but I'm so glad I took a chance and you should too. They were gentle with my hair and used heat protection. Oh my take down included a shampoo, condition, blow dry, and flat iron. I opted to forego the flat iron because I wear it in its natural fluffiness. I thought they were kind and communicated what I wanted the entire time. I was in and out within 2.5 hours I think. Each time I've gone, it's only been max 4 people and that includes the stylists, which is nice. Some places are fast but packed and the customer service takes a back seat. I had good service and I don't want to gate-keep so you are welcome. Tell one, tell all....maybe not all lol. Enjoy~

Update: Many of the…read morethings I initially complemented seem to be declining. My 5 star rating is now a 3. I've been several times since my initial review. It's really hit or miss depending on who you get. - the last few times the appointments started late. Most recently I waited an hour and a half. Why make an appointment if they won't be honored? - twice I've had my Senegalese twists unravel in less than two weeks. Once I had Senegalese that were braided at the top. I will say that the owner is happy to fix any problem with the style but I'd rather just have it done right the first time - they now play an uncensored video chanel on the tv. It's obvious that several of the clients (especially those with children) are uncomfortable and I've even heard people telling children to cover their eyes/ears. No one in the shop seems to care All in all I'm not sure that I will return unless these problems can be remedied. All of the good things : - the appointment started on time - all of the braiders were friendly - my braider checked several times to make sure my hair wasn't too tight - hair is included - reasonable prices - credit cards are accepted - impeccably clean, including the bathroom - fast and precise braiding - although the tv was not on an American station, everything was appropriate ( I hate going to shops where they have children in the room and Law and Order SVU on the tv) I will definitely return and highly recommend
