Was not even going to leave a bad review even though I left SO DISAPPOINTED. But after checking my bank account and seeing that the $10 off the owner finally decided to give me was NEVER HONORED. So here I am because it's important for people to know the truth. Everyone is very friendly when everything is ok and u don't complain but when they do something wrong and speak on it they don't like it- which is very unprofessional. I Came here for a butterfly cut after seeing great work online. Because I had k tip extensions I literally CALLED them before reserving an apt to confirm that they knew both how to wash and cut/style hair with k tips specifically. The woman over the phone assured me they did. The lady washed my hair well and was cautious about the extensions however, when it came time to blow dry my hair she didnt know what she was doing. She put the brush right on top of the k tip bond and applied direct high heat (like are u kidding me? But u said u knew how to style hair with k tips..) as a result when she pulled the brush off my hair 3 k tips fell off and they've only been in for 1month and with proper care as I've done NONE of them have fallen out. I even told her u can leave my hair wet and I will dry it myself at home- (where I know exactly what I am doing so that no more fall out) and she goes no the owner has to see it with the hair dry.. So I told her don't put heat on top of the bonds, begin drying towards the middle of the hair and she goes ok, does it that way and says to me this time none of them came out, it's trial and error. TRIAL AND ERROR? Why would u lie over the phone and tell me u know how to style and cut k tip extensions and then tell me it's trial and error after 3 extensions fell out? WHY LIE TO THE CUSTOMER. I came trusting u wouldn't mess up my extensions - if u don't know how to do something just tell them the truth Instead of taking their money, ruining their hair and leaving them unhappy? I get home and look at the back of my hair and notice some strands are way longer on one side and when I went to see why that was it was because those k tip extensions had been pulled almost all the way down they were hanging on by literally 2 strands and u could the length discrepancy on side of my head because of it. I lightly touched those extensions that they had pulled all the way down during blow drying my hair and of course they fell out. In total I lost 9 extensions during this experience which should have never happened if they were honest about not knowing how to cut and style hair with extensions. At the end I voiced my opinion that I should get a discount for how disappointed I was especially after feeling deceived and lied to about their knowledge and experience and using my hair as a trial and error. J literally had to keep convincing the owner that my hair should not have fallen out like that. Which ofc she responded by saying: anywhere u go that's going to happen. Which is false extensions don't fall out after only 1 month with proper care and treatment which they have ZERO EXPERIENCE with. I wasn't going to argue with them and she finally told the lady to give me $10 off which is nothing but I said ok. I TIPPED BOTH OF THEM regardless of my experience. Now I check my bank account just to see that the lady never gave me the discount and I was still charged $130 (should have been 120 which is what she said to me verbally but never changed it on her machine). That for me left a very bad impression where their words literally can't even be trusted- a very tacky, unprofessional way to run a business, especially when a business should always be customer oriented and their satisfaction should be your number 1 priority. Learn how to take accountability for lying about your expertise (or lack thereof) and don't be SHADY and say ur giving a discount and then charge them the full amount. Not looking for a response back because I would never give them my service again but I thought people should know and it really is a shame. read more

Had a curly cut with Sandra and it was wonderful! Everyone there is so friendly, and the salon is beautiful. Yuliza is an absolute PROFESSIONAL COLORIST! I have never been happier with my results. From the minute I met her and had my consultation with her I IMMEDIATELY knew she was THE ONE. The one who would give me what I asked for. I've been on a hair journey, fighting with my greys and trying to find someone who actually knew what they were doing and to get it right. Struggling with the "right color". Well... I have to look no further. Been coming to her now for about a year and she does not disappoint! Very skilled professional BOSS LADY who has a great team of woman whom I HIGHLY recommend. She is also working on her own line of hair products that I cannot wait to try!! She knows her hair! Her game is sick. Ever looking to make that drastic change and don't know where to go... You heard it here first! Come check her out. Her address has changed and she is now located at 89-02 Jamaica Ave. Beautiful salon with good energy and people who know their shit! read more

I've been going to Yuliza for a little over a year and her and her staff are fantastic! I have a short curly pixie cut and I always come in wanting these crazy colors. During the pandemic my hair dresser moved and since then I've been looking for a new one. I went to this salon based off of the good reviews and decent prices. I went to her twice. The first time I got my haircut and the second time I went for a hair color appointment. The haircut was fine, I cut my hair super short so it's about a few inches past my shoulder (keep this in mind). For the haircut I had to pay in full in advance($30) and for the color I had to pay a $50 deposit in advance something that I've never heard of before but I get that for the hair color she wants to make sure the person shows up for the appointment. However it seemed like if you came into the store in person you didn't have to pay for an appointment for some people... For the hair color I arrived promptly at 9am and the hairdresser arrived at 9:30am. The least she could have done was given me a call to tell me she would be late so I wasn't sitting there for half an hour. I asked for ombre and I recieved babylights. Every hairdresser has their own style that they tend to stick to so if you come here be prepared to get babylights. During my previous visit I also had a consultation and both in the consultation and the beginning of when she was coloring my hair I asked for prices and she said $150. At this point I was preparing myself to pay $200-$300 (because I am brown and have thick short hair) which is still most I've ever paid to do my hair. She said it was based on the amount of product she used (which makes sense) but she used more product since she did babylights and not ombre and she was very generous with the product for each strand. The entire process of putting the bleach in took 3-4 hours which is understandable since I have thick hair and she did a few very small singular strands at a time (babylights) however I feel like the time I spent there could have been cut in half. She did about 75% of my hair then moved on to another client rather than completing my hair and then moving on to another client. This took about an extra hour since I had to wait for the remainder hair to get processed. The toning was fast but I had to wait to get the toner in after my hair was bleached. She put a darker color on the top to say it was ombre but it's not the same as ombre because most of my hair is small highlights rather than the bottom half being one color and there being a melt between my natural roots and the bottom color. The hair wash was very rough and painful. At the end I felt like my scalp was bleeding. I decided not to get a blowout because I straighten my hair on my own and I figured they would charge me more if I did and I was tierd of sitting around in the salon, at this point it was 4pm. When I went to pay she ended up charging me a whopping $400. There was no reasoning behind her pricing she didn't break the cost down to me. If I had know it was going to be $400 I wouldn't have done my hair. The reason I went to her was because she had reasonable pricing. I am a full time college student and I also have a full time job. My job pays for my college bills because I don't have financial aid so $400 is not something that I was prepared for in addition spending my entire day there set back the time I had to do my college work. I think she just charged me the highest price because I had a lot of hair and it took long but that was because she did babylights, showed up late, and didn't completely bleach my hair at the same time. I'm still not 100% happy with my hair especially for that price. I won't be returning here. read more

Ok so what caught my eye about this place initially when I was stopped at a light was how glam it's decorated in a relatively small space, so I followed Yuliza on Instagram. The photos of her work were really impressive. In person she did not disappoint. She is not only a sweetheart, she is very knowledgeable and takes time to speak with you about what you would like your results to be, you can tell she really knows her stuff. You just get a good vibe from her, she's not just trying to tell you what you want to hear and cash in. I love the long bob cut and blow out she gave me and definitely will be becoming one of her regulars. Her daughter also braided my daughters hair and did an amazing job. read more

I went to have hair cut yesterday, the lady who was working there ask what size I wanted the hair. So I told her. Instead of giving me chair, cape, wetting my hair she just grab the hair in one hand and cut once with the other hand. All my dress messed up with hair. My hair wasn't straight line when I asked to set it she said this is how it is.really? This is how you do business? I did the hair treatment and bought some vitamin also. She doesn't speak in English so every time I ask her something she had to call her boss and her boss was answering me. After all this I tipped her. read more
