I'm super disappointed. Especially because hair is a big thing in my life. I just wanted a simple dye. Lighter brown. I had my old highlights in my hair. My stylist blamed me after the first dye session that I didn't mention I had highlights in my hair because the results came out and I had my roots a different color to the rest of my hair. But how is that my fault if you were the one dying my hair? Shouldn't you have seen it? Anyways he redid my hair. This time my highlights were no longer seen because he dyes it again. But now after the 2nd time my roots are lighter than the rest of my hair. Then he continues by cutting my hair. The cut is ok. I still paid for the service, but now I won't be coming back. And now have to find another salon to fix my hair. I'm really unhappy. read more

I have been meaning to review this place for a while. I purchased a Groupon which included a deep condition, color, cut, and style which seemed like a great deal (I don't remember the price though) and then called and made an appointment (back in December). The reviews seemed great to me. I talked to Susan and she was hard to speak to and it did not sound like she would remember what I told her. So I show up for my appointment and checked in with Susan who had NO IDEA who I was and did not have my scheduled time down. As we were speaking about what I wanted she wasn't really listening and ran out to one of her customers and told her to come back and she is so sorry (because I took her time slot which was not my fault). I was so close to leaving but I wanted my hair cut for so long. I was telling her I wanted to dye my hair a medium brown and she said she cant do that because it would turn GREEN! I have light golden brown hair. She said I could go lighter or put ash in it and risk having green hair!!! I have never heard this before, you run a hair place so you should know how to dye hair BROWN. I think she was just being lazy and did not want to do it. I said forget the color even though my groupon included it (I was starting to get pissed). First she washes and conditions my hair and I sit there FOREVER. She said I would be there for fifteen minutes but she dyes another girls hair and after that gives a man his haircut. Finally she takes me to her chair, she makes polite conversation but I am not really having it. She did not cut my hair how I asked because it was too long so I told her to go shorter and I was satisfied with the cut after that. ( I wanted a lob, one length and no layers, its pretty simple) Then she styles it with a blow dryer straight and when I left my hair still had some wavy parts. I did not even care, I was just glad my hair was cut. This was the worst hair salon experience I have ever had. I made this account and this is my first review just because of this place. I want other people to avoid having an experience like I did. I know she has some loyal customers and some of them are older or probably friends/family. My advice is to be careful of the reviews and do not buy a Groupon for this place. I wanted a nice salon experience but now I will just stick to Great Clips. I know you are thinking that I should have just left but I paid for it and my hair really needed a cut because of all the split ends. If you do go here just get a simple hair cut. read more

To all of you that are thinking about scheduling an appointment for highlights PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! Don't go to SUSAN! Susan was nice but she absolutely doesn't know anything about highlights! This has been the most horrible hair experience ever. My hair looks and feels disgusting and now I have to schedule another appointment with my old hairdresser to fix this mess. She pretty much burnt my hair, I've LOST SO MUCH HAIR! My roots were disgusting yellow, and I had yellow patches here and there....some of my hair were almost white! she applied a toner on all of my hair! who does that?! After shampoo she was trying to blow dry my hair first and then comb! what?! I'll never ever go there again, I'd rather drive 60 miles to see my old hair dresser. read more

I started coming here after supercuts kept on raising their prices on a regular basis. Its a decent price since i dont have any need for styling just the usual trim the back off and layer it and clear it away from my ears. I'm sure they can do fancier cuts if need be read more

I decided to try this place based on previous positive Yelp reviews. This review is mainly for Sabrina, who cut my hair. I made an appointment and was seated promptly upon my arrival. Though I originally went in for just a haircut (was told $15-20), I ended up taking the $30 deal where it includes a haircut and the hot oil treatment. Overall, Sabrina was very pleasant and took time and care in cutting my hair. She made sure my hair was even multiple times. When all was said and done, my hair looked a bit shorter than I preferred and kind of puffy. I was also not impressed with the hot oil treatment but perhaps that's related to the price point. When I went home, I realized that my hair wasn't thoroughly dried so I finished the blow drying at home myself. I also found some residue conditioner around a bit of my hairline. Perhaps this is normal, but I also had quite a few loose hair falling into my sink while I finished styling my hair. Overall, Sabrina was pleasant and the price is very reasonable. The salon is small, nothing fancy, but comfortable enough. The verdict is still out if I would go back. read more

Need a good haircut. Don't have much money or want to waste a lot of time having it done then go to O K Salon. It's a very small place at the edge of the shopping center next to Yum Yum Donuts. Don't expect coffee and glamour here but you will get a good cut from any of the stylists. i wish i could give 'em a higher rating and be truthful, but...3 isn't really "bad". got a haircut this past saturday and felt that the place was just "OK". space was pretty filthy, and the restroom was worse, but the haircut itself wasn't bad. my stylist was kind and sweet, too. so, i suppose i can forgive the grime and say that my only disappointment was that my hair was really flat within just a few hours of leaving the salon. i asked for a "blow dry" to accompany my haircut and was told that it would be done. yes, she blow dried my hair but not completely. when i left, my hair was actually still a little damp. never had this experience in the past when i've gotten a blow dry service (aka a blow out in specialty salons). i may give this place another chance, but it's highly unlikely. my experience, unfortunately, wasn't good enough for me to return. really sorry, style salon. read more

When I called to make an appointment and mentioned I was using my Groupon, it was clear that the receptionist was less than thrilled. She said they require a lot of "paperwork" and I asked if she preferred I not make an appointment. Ultimately I made it, but when I asked who the stylist would be she said, "whoever is not busy." I arrived a few minutes early. No one,it seemed, did Groupon clients. A reluctant stylist said she'd do it. Even though my Groupon was for wash, cut, and blow dry, I told her I would forego the shampoo. She said she would wet my hair and cut, nothing else. I told her that was unacceptable as I was already skipping the wash. She walked out. I was quite distraught. 2 other stylists came to my rescue and Elaine actually did a dry cut, nothing else. She was very nice but I'm very unhappy with the receptionist and the first stylist's attitude. Unfortunately I did not get the receptionist's name. I've been going to OK for a few years now, and I've always been happy. I think they have better better styling sense than Supercuts does, plus they cost less. If you have to wait, it's usually for just a few minutes. I never make an appointment (I just drop in), but it's probably better to call. The stylists are really nice, too. read more

What a great find! Not only are their prices EXTREMELY reasonable, Susan is so efficient & great at making the right hair color & style for you! I called for a Groupon & she said not to worry about it, they honor their fair prices all the time! She gets you in at a moments notice and made the PERFECT match to my blonde hair. Some places fail miserably at matching blonde roots to the existing color, but she LOOKED at my hair, made a mix & it' was SPOT ON!!!! Very unhappy with my experience here. I went based off of positive reviews but I ended up regretting this decision. I went to get partial highlights in my hair. Elaine the stylist didn't listen to what I wanted so my highlights turned out orange and when I complained about it she just gave me excuses instead of trying to fix it. I now have to pay more money to get my hair fixed somewhere else. Warning avoid this place its between a jack in the box and a donut shop I should've known it wasn't going to be a quality hair salon just from the location. This is in response to the comment posted below first of all my account is set to private so you can't see my other reviews maybe for some reason only the bad ones appeared but that doesn't discredit my opinion. Yes I have written positive reviews because I believe those who do a good job should be praised. There was one other review from 3yrs ago where I had a horrible experience and they too gave me orange highlights it happens when the stylist can't correctly give blonde highlights to someone with brown hair. I find it rather odd and rude that you went after me. Someone who is professional fixes their mistakes they don't attack there customers. I gave you my info because you handed me a card and it would've been rude if I told you I hated my color job and that there's no way I was coming back there. Elaine is the best. I bought a Groupon a year ago and have been back 3 times after that! I have light brown roots and get highlights from her on a regular basis. I used to go the expensive salons in Belmont Shore. I now pay less than half the price for the same services! The salon isn't as nice but the quality of the services are on par. So if you like to pay for expensive rent then go to the fancier salons. If all you care about is good looking hair for an incredible value then try Style Salon. I wish I could put a 0 to this place. Bought a Groupon. I read in the reviews that they usually take same-day appointments so when I called specifying that I had a Groupon, and this man with a really thick Asian accent gave me an appointment for that same afternoon didn't surprise me. Drove 30 minutes to my appointment. When it's my turn I tell the same guy that picked up the phone earlier what I wanted and I mention again the Groupon. He said "oh no, we don't use groupons any more, I don't know why it's still on the website", to what I tell him, well, I told you over the phone and I'm sorry, I already bought it, groupon already took my money, that is not my fault. He kept saying "we don't do groupons any more", to what I tell him "how am I supposed to know that if it shows up in the groupon website?". This lady (the other owner) shows up and changes her story all the time. First, she says we don't do groupons. Then she says, ok, he can give you the same discount. Then she says, you should have told us that you were coming with a groupon (to what I told her that I did) because another lady is the one that does the groupon, not them and shes doesn't have appointments until next year. Liars, didn't they say they don't do groupons? then they say yes but its another lady? WTF???? I was really pissed by that time. I asked her in a really bad way to give me the first available appointment that this lady had. She gave it to me. When I'm leaving really upset, she said "oh, by the way, we are going to charge you more for your long hair" (That is something that I knew since the small print in the groupon says it) to what I tell her "sure, go ahead, but you will take that as your "tip" because I won't give you any. You made me waste my time, you made me waste my gas, you are treating me like a liar, you don't deserve any tip. She said "no, if you don't like it, return your groupon", what I can't do because after 3 days of purchase all purchases are final. read more

Visited for the first time today as a "walk-in" and I was pleasantly surprised. Vicky cut my hair and did a great job! I came in to get my hair cut short for the summer and showed her a picture of the style I was looking for. She did a great job and got pretty close to the pic (I have relatively curly hair whereas the pic has a model with straight hair). I went to this salon 2 years ago for the first time and seemed like because I was a new customer Vicki was very nice and wanted my business. I went back about 2 years later which was yesterday and I told Vicki what I wanted my hair to look like and she worked on my hair. My mom had been going to her regularly since I referred her to Vicki a while ago. And I was trying to tell Vicki what my vision was for my hair she completely ignored me and kept asking my mom if the color is ok for my hair as if I was a minor mind you I'm 31!When she was done I said this is not really what I asked for I said wanted it more evened out.Vicki then raised her voice at me and basically started yelling at me the customer because maybe she was panicked. She then made an excuse that she was tired and still only apologized to my mom. She was very condescending and rude! She didn't even dry my hair when she was done with the highlights and the cut and it was evening and it was cold out! I let her know that if it wasn't for my referral you wouldn't have my mom as a client! And I left! Worst experience ever! This was actually my early birthday treat from my mom! Will never be back! I bought a Groupon for a partial highlight cut and style and I showed her how I wanted it and I wanted it straightened when she was finished because it was included. Not to mention they acted unhappy that I had a Groupon why would you put it on there if you don't want people buying it anyways I don't remember her name but she proceeded to highlight my hair she showed me how late I could go and I pick the one I wanted my hair looked nothing like it and after she cut it way too short after me telling her not to then she put moose in my hair when I asked for it straightened so at that point I was irritated and was ready to get out of there and that's what I did I recommend you going somewhere else not here in less you want your hair fucked up. read more

went to get a wash and blow dry.. the guy was ok. i guess he did exactly what i wanted, but used too much product in my hair.. when i walked out it felt overly thick (thats not bad) but not because of my hair being overly thick, but because it felt dirty due to too much product. Vicky does an amazing job for color and cut! I came to her on a Groupon originally and she did a wonderful job on my hair. The second time back was not a disappointment. She did a great job blending out my highlights with darker all over color. I also had her wax my brows which I am very happy with. I've been gonig to this place for a number of years. I may get my hair cut somewhere else in a pinch, but always find myself disappointed. I'm always very happy with the results that I've had at this location. Susan and Kelly are no longer here, but no worries. Elaine is freakin' awesome! I usually spike my hair everywhere and I like having a lot of texture otherwise it looks funny. Most salons that I have been to including places that charge almost $100 for a men's haircut still seem to manage to not get it right. Elaine gives me a razor cut that is perfect every time. I've been to maybe 30 salons or so around the LA/OC area and have yet to find anyone that can do what Elaine does. Her talent goes beyond just men's haircuts as she transforms womens hair into something magical also. Occasionally I'll do a walk-in and have to wait a bit, but it's really awesome seeing someone come in with a really messed up mop and walking out looking like a million bucks. When you decide to try Style Salon, I highly recommend that you ask for Elaine when booking your appointment. This place is a really great deal. Don't buy the Groupon - they just use that advertise, but they can give you better deals if you just come in and say you saw the Groupon. The past few times I've come in, I've gotten a cut and my hair bleached for $65. They're really accurate about color matching and try to use the lowest-level processing formula they can to make sure your hair stays in good shape. I have been going here for years, so she knows what I like and that allows us to talk about more important issues....like, how to make Pho and why children are so annoying. We always laugh and have a good time. I never have to make an appointment. I walk in and get it done in 15 minutes (but, I am a guy). Susan is funny and knowledgable about hair.
